spanish football sports Another SPANISH FOOTBALL lazy summer day lack of news story coiming out of
England, thats being picked up by some online blogs & finally has landed in Spanish Sports online
editions. The latest "tickle" is the reported meeting between ARSENAL FC officials & REAL MADRID
over the possibility of landing KARIM BENZEMA over to London.
Here we are, just a week after Martin said his goodbyes, and now I will be saying goodbye too.
This will be my last post here at Arsenal Offside.
I almost don't know what to say. I'm not very good with goodbyes, so I'll try to keep things
short. I basically came to this blog like the rest of you, as a fan and a frequent contributor to
the comments section.

Welcome to the fourth in my small series of ‘blogs looking at Newcastle United's new signings in
the latest transfer window. In this episode, I will be looking at former West Ham and 1899
Hoffenheim player, Demba Ba. I was going to write that this is the final of my little series, but
like many [..

Over the past few weeks most blogs have been publishing their teams and reviews of the 2010/2011
season. I thought it would be nice to do something along the same lines, but rather than toil over
a hot computer I thought I'd get the BBC to do it for me. I'm going to post season reviews of all
twenty Premier League clubs as word clouds from all of their BBC match reports for the 2010/2011
season.
Obviously I've been strongly hinting at this opinion in my blogs throughout the summer, so I'll
try not to restate everything I've already written. But I do have a few more points to make, and I
want to sum up why I feel Arsenal needs a new manager. And the more I think about it, the more I
feel that it's not even a close call either.
I know. I missed a few things.
Mostly the launch of the Blizzard, what that meant for football blogging and whether it heralded a
new page in football journalism, which I hope to talk about in the coming days.
As I hope you've been aware, I've been writing daily posts for The Score's Footy Blog, which has
been an incredibly useful discipline.
Welcome to the third in my small series of ‘blogs looking at Newcastle United's new signings in
the latest transfer window. In this episode, I will be looking at free RC Lens youngster and French
Under 18 international, Mehdi Abeid. Much attention has being focused on the last three Newcastle
United signings, Yohan Cabaye, Demba [.
Sometime during the last week there was this article on the Arsenal website with a few comments
from Benayoun. The Israeli skipper said that he can understand the reasons for not getting regular
starts and was happy to contribute whenever he got a chance.
They say you don't change a winning team and we are on a good run so it is very difficult to get
into the team.

Last week, I wrote a post about choosing a team to follow in the forthcoming MLS season (and in
many future seasons). I tried to choose criteria that were important to me in order to eliminate
teams, and come the finish I was left with Portland Timbers. First off, I was surprised with the
reaction I got; I expected a bit of ribbing but not only did I get a nice welcome from Portland
fans, but fans of other teams criticized me for the way in which I chose the team.
Welcome to guardian.co.uk's review of the 2010-11 Premier League season. As the campaign draws
to a close, we want you to help us find the most spectacular goal, biggest flop and best signing,
as well as the winner in seven other categories. Our writers have nominated some contenders, but
this is just the starting point for the conversation: we would like your suggestions so that we can
compile the best into final polls that you can vote on.
I don't think I could be a football agent.
Firstly, I'm just not that kind of hard-nosed businessman driven solely by money. Secondly, I'm
not a particularly great liar. Mrs Blogs always knows when I'm spoofing because of the look on my
face. I tend to make a face which suggests that I'm making a face so as not to look like I'm
fibbing but the face says "I'm fibbing".
Welcome to my small series of 'blogs looking at Newcastle United's new signings in the latest
transfer window. First cab off the rank will be Yohan Cabaye. Cabaye, who's recent signing was
broken on Joey Barton's Twitta, and this 'blog, was signed from Lille OSC for £4.3 million, which
must be something of a bargain [.
I have not been interested in most of the transfer rumours doing the rounds (quite literally!)
this summer. But a recent story linking Costa Rican striker Joel Campbell to Arsenal, being run by
Gunnerblog and Young Guns, got me excited.
Here was a young, pacy striker that I'd never heard of and Wenger was interested in him.
Big ears
We all know about the Champions League and how it is now the most prestigious football trophy
out there right now. To some, it's even bigger than the World Cup (yes, I'm sure Ryan Giggs would
agree). It is now the competition that every club in Europe wants to participate in. Not only
because of the glory involve in winning the cup but also the huge money that will be paid out to
participating clubs.
We've started a new feature on our Blogs and, for now, we're calling it Rewind. This is where we
pull an old video from our archives that we think was really good, historic, just plain fun or all
of the above.
We'll start with this little gem from 2008 in which we feature current U.S. WNT regulars Amy
Rodriguez, Lauren Cheney and Tobin Heath when they were all just breaking into the team.
It's draft day in Major League Soccer, and once again, ESPN2 will offer coverage of the first
round in Baltimore. As in past years, the draft is in the middle of the day, requring working
fans to DVR the draft, watch online or follow one of the many blogs that will offer coverage. On
Thursday we will offer a business blog of the draft and draft coverage.

Does a match of such magnitude end any better?
I will admit at around the 75 minute mark, I had given up on any chance of a win... a draw was a
maybe... however it seemed we had blown our early chances, including a cracking chance for Robin in
the opening minutes, after a delightful chipped through pass from Cesc.

Look there are going to be all sorts of stories about us and the game Tuesday night but a story
that is doing the rounds about Abramovich being fed up with Fernando Torres is ridiculous!!
Torres has come to Chelsea to help win the Champions League but also as part of our future so all
this rubbish in the press stating that we may sell him is the press once more doing their best to
de-stabilise Chelsea ahead of the game.
We had seen the report on one of the local Newcastle blogs yesterday, that Stephen Ireland could
miss the game tomorrow night because his girlfriend had been in a serious car accident. Stephen

By Tony Attwood As everyone who reads the mast head knows, this is a pro-Wenger site a site set up

So what are people saying after last night's brawl before the Hougang United v Etoile SLeague which
saw the game cancelled before the kick off.
The SLeague website comes out with the usual spiel about taking a serious view blah blah blah. The
FA took a serious view last year of a similar incident between Young Lions and Beijing Guoan, those
lengthy suspensions saw players miss out on the AFF Cup and obviously no lessons have been learned.

Welcome to second in my small series of ‘blogs looking at Newcastle United's new signings in the

Marveaux is another very versatile little Frenchman with [.
One should NEVER co-sign on an article they haven't read. So I won't co-sign on this article in
Grantland from Carles of Hipster Runoff fame...but maybe read it anyway. Not because it's Carles
and his sh*ts always bratty and funny but because maybe if a soccer piece gets good traffic on
Grantland they might actually feature it from time to time.
By Walter Broeckx Untold Arsenal has always been one of those blogs that is very open to the
thought that games can be bought in some way, either by buying some player(s) or is it by buying a
ref. Why a player or a ref is bought for is something we don't know yet. I [...]
So it seems like a lot of various soccer related blogs and news sites are creating a sort of
"mid season" award piece which highlights the best of what MLS has to offer. Unfortunately, the
Portland Timbers haven't graced many lists. I guess being near the bottom of the standings will do
that. But that doesn't mean we should be left out of the mid-season awards fun altogether!
I've realized from a few emails that some readers may not know that I no longer work for Goal.com.
I quit over a month ago. I wish my friends there the best of luck, but I didn't want to be there
any more. Unfortunately, I didn't really didn't have another soccer writing job lined up, so I've
gone back to teaching.

The proliferation of foreign players in the Premier League is an often covered subject on radio
phone-ins and blogs like this one. I thought rather than offering the same glib observations on
foreign players in the 'English game' I'd offer some facts on the number of non-English (and
non-British) players who currently ply their trade in the Premier League today (or to be more
specific last season).

Over the years we have learned that are readers are savvy consumers of soccer media who use
multiple sources to check soccer news, keep in touch with other fans and follow trends in the
beautiful game. Because a large part of what we cover is the soccer media, we thought it was time
for the first Footiebusiness poll since 2009.
