Sammy the Snake Disclaimer: My best friend, a genuinely nice guy, is a Chelsea supporter. He calls
me and congratulates me every time the Gunners win. When Chelsea drop points, I call him and rub it
in his face.
With winter setting in and everyone shivering on their way to work and back, I thought I'd have a
look at all the other Arsenal blogs around that maybe don't get much of a look-in. This is a good
day to catch everyone in a good mood after Arsenal's easy win last night against Wigan, [...]
I've received some good news from the people at Wikio, they emailed me to inform me that Soccer
Wrap Up is still in the top 20 soccer blogs in their rankings. While we're not all the way up at
8th like we were last month, 15th is still pretty good, and we can only thank you, the readers.
Each month Wikio (a blogging search engine) releases the top 20 blogs (regarding football/soccer).
All new Premier League maternity wear Tomorrow is Wednesday, which means another brand-spanking new
episode of the OTP Podcast. The first two episodes seem to have gone down a storm, but the lads
will be grateful of any feedback. So please do leave your comments on the accompanying blogs. If
you haven't listened to episode [.
As if yesterday wasn't enough, we all woke up today with the realization that the new manager of
Newcastle United Football Club could be very average indeed. The front runners so far are Alan
Curbishley, Alan Pardew, Martin Jol, and Martin O'Niell. I don't think anyone can argue that the
two latter names would be a decent punt, but knowing Mike Ashley, he's likely to go for one of the
two former names.
Gerard Houllier has stood on the touchline and overseen 11 Premier League games now and the
table doesn't lie, the stats are grim. His two wins represent an 18% win ratio and you can put that
up against the records of his predecessors if you wish in the manager performance table I complied
just before this season kicked off.

There has been much talk in all the Arsenal Blogs about the need for Arsene Wenger to splash out in
January for another centre-back to either provide cover for the longterm injury to Thomas
Vermaelen, or simply to improve the quality of the Arsenal back line. Wenger bought the young, but
inexperienced, Laurent Koscielny in the [.
SPANISH FOOTBALL SPORTS BLOG has surpassed the 1.500.000 unique visitors. The readership stats
show that it is popular in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Africa & bigger
than big in Asia: THANK YOU!!! I would never have imagined this "hobby" would get so far. There are
people who dislike the blog - naturally, would not expect anything else - but the majority show

This week we discuss Twitter's favourite English footballer, Rio Ferdinand; consider how Gabriel
Obertan is progressing and we reflect on Champions League qualification.
The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the
kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going
out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.
Danny Blanchflower, Spurs and Northern Ireland captain.
If you didn't read it yesterday I implore you to check out this post from Dunny over at TOW. As a
former MLS player he's seen the other side of the trade-and-deal game, the side that we the fans do
not see. Y'know, the side where you mess around and buy a house then get a phone call saying you've
been traded to Dallas so pack your sh*t.

Sammy The Snake My father's most favorite comment while I was growing up was "money doesn't grow on
trees". As my childhood was spent mostly on and around trees, this was quite obvious for me, but
that didn't discourage the [.
I'm off to Florida to see family and friends over Christmas and New Year's and go play Uncle Howie
to my nieces and nephews. So there won't be many updates to the two blogs over the holiday period.
Maybe I will write a piece or two if I have some quiet time in the hotels, but I don't expect to
have much time.

Lee Probert is now my most hated referee. I think the worst performance I have seen in a year in
an Arsenal game by a match official.
