Hi everyone hope you've had good weeks up to this point and will be looking forward to the
Celtic game tonight to probably see a few young guns in action.
But what has caught my eye today is a few journalists predicting Arsenal to be in action on
transfer deadline day and throughout the week prior to it, I'll explain:
The Dail Mirror's Football Spy
From his insider knowledge or it could be what he just made up he is predicting 2 Arsenal moves
in the last week of the transfer window:
Blaise Matuidi
This story has ran for ages and you all know who he is by now so I won't bother with huge
details but he's a Defenesive Midfielder with a great talent.
The list of the USSoccer.com's Best of 2009 awards have been announced and the blog list is a
toughie. While WVHooligan wasn't nominated there was a solid list of blogs that made the cut.
From the usual favorites like Soccer By Ives and Soccer Insider to some underdogs like Match Fit
USA and No Short Corners.
Well what a dissapointing end to a good start! Typical Arsenal; control the game and then score
but don't take advantage, by scoring another goal when on top. Then stupidity from Almunia allows
an equaliser, then I'm not even gonna try to explain Diaby's actions. What was he thinking?
Although Almunia was to blame again, he should of collected the ball from the cross.
Now before you read this you will be either scratching your head and thinking hmm or .. will be
banging your head thinking we nearly signed De Rossi.
This morning on Wikipedia Daniel De Rossi's page was chanegd from Roma player to Arsenal. Yes
your thinking no big deal but WAIT.
Then for 10 15 minutes Arsenal.
Every summer Arsenal are linked with a whole host of unknown, young and unproven players. However,
after the recent acquisition of Ajax skipper Thomas Vermaelen, it seems that Arsene Wenger may be
going for the more 'experienced'-type players. Gooner Talk have put together a list of five
Defensive Midfielders who have been linked with Arsenal, [.
25% of blog posts in Britain are fake.
These bloggers are paid by the inevitable middle people to include content that is linked to a
particular website.
We are inundated with such proposals, as they are seeking blogs that are trusted by their
readership.
Some of these operations are less shady than others but, with the worst examples, the blogger is
paid markedly extra for including positive content about the website with an embedded link in the
post.
You really should read this. It's a bit long --in a good way-- so you might want to save it for
lunch time so you'll have something to check out while your sandwich crumbs get all up in your
keyboard. Designated Player Adam Spangler of This Is American Soccer went out to the New Jersey
headquarters of Peppe Pinton, the man who owns the rights to the New York Cosmos, and came back
with the tale of a man who after years of grandstanding and dillusion sounds a little desperate to
get back in the game.
To be 100% honest.. I've been avoiding blogging about this whole Steven Cohen business. Mostly
because it's all so very unpleasant. Hopefully you've read about it on other blogs, where it's been
covered pretty well. But if not, here's a quick summary with plenty of links that go into more
detail. OK then, from the top: Cohen [.

OK folks, if you want to see the US vs Mexico match on August 12th, it's going to take some
work. From TVweek.com
NBC Universal is now going to offer all cable and satellite operators free access to
Telemundo-owned cable network mun2 on August 12, so that all soccer fans around the country will
get to see the English-language telecast of the World Cup qualifying match between the United
States and Mexico.
Hello everyone, you may be thinking where am I coming from with the headline, after the
devastating loss to Manchester United on Saturday but you have to look at things in a rounded way
as I shall explain below:
The Loss versus Man United
Yes firstl;y we lost the game and probably should and deserved to win it, but let's not dwell on
that.
Goals:
Van Persie, Diaby and Arshavin

Good news for hopeful Arsenal fans; Portsmouth have accepted a bid for Peter Crouch from
Tottenham Source Sky Sports. This must surely mean that Redknapp has ruled himself out of signing
Huntelaar which could be a major breakthrough in our so called attempts to sign him.
With no other known competition Wenger now may be much more inclined to make a bid and sign
him.
The Sun and a variety of other newspapers this morning are reporting a huge story for many
Arsenal fans. Arsene Wenger has apparently matches spurs offer to the 33 year old; A one year
contract with many bonuses although he shall have to take a pay cut from £80,000 a week to a much
lower salary.
Wenger needs to bring in experienced players after Toure departed and we lost so many two
seasons back but he believes Patrick Viera could do a great job for us.
A great day for Arsenal and especially 17 year old Jack Wilshere who scored a brace as well as
Eduardo with another clinical finish!

Not only will the US be facing their stiffest rivals in Mexico in front of a hostile crowd of
100,000+ supporters, but as SI's Grant Wahl reports, altitude has the potential of playing a major
factor as well.
When I asked U.S. defender Oguchi Onyewu what it's like to play in the Azteca, this is what he
said: "I've tried to explain that to people who say, ‘You guys looked tired after 10
minutes.
WINNERS! ROBBIE KEANE PLUS TOTTENHAM EQUAL LOSERS!!!
For those of us that follow a major European team, there is a weekly pattern that develops over
the season. After the weekend game, many fans like myself spend a couple of days absorbing
commentary about the game. Youtube is scoured for clips and the blogs are mined for insights.
Off a defender, off a post, in the net. Mr. Anelka took care of business away for France, making
their trip to South Africa look pretty likely. As Jack posted earlier this week, Nico likes being
the supporting striker, but that doesn't mean he doesn't like to let it rip on occasion.
Also in action today, Deco, Ricardo Carvalho, and Paulo Ferreira all played as Portugal won 1-0
against Bosnia, as Hilario, who won his first callup for Portugal, didn't make the bench.
Arsenal have been rocked by an injury to star striker Robin van Persie which could see the
Dutchman ruled out of action for around two months.
Van Persie was stretchered off during Holland's goalless friendly draw in Italy on Saturday
night.
He damaged his ankle in a challenge with Giorgio Chiellini in the early stages of the clash.
There's no doubt that the Premier League season is heating up. The last few weeks have been
extremely entertaining. And, for the casual observer, it's wonderful to see the Big Four teams
getting beat. But there were two incidents on Saturday that I found deplorable. The first was
Javier Mascherano's horror tackle on Portsmouth's Tal Ben Haim.
When you go away for a while sometimes you want to make a splashy entrance when you come back.
Spoofing the new MLSnet franchise from His Ginger Majesty™ seems to qualify as such an entrance.
Imitation...flattery...yadda yadda yadda.
One of the great joys of the close season - right up there with the fixture list coming out and
the pre-season games up Austrian mountains - is the inevitable new shirt launch. It's come early
this year, it seems. I'm not quite sure how it suddenly became OK to launch a new away shirt each
season, but that's what seems to be happening and it looks as if next season we'll be in pinstriped
blue polo shirts.
What an opener! In my wildest dreams I didn't expect us to whack in 6 v Everton. I'm super happy
even though I had a rubbish day of personal sport behind me, but I won't bore you with that.
Here's the highlights, I will find an improved quality version as soon as possible but that's it
for now:

Whether you like him or not, it's seems more and more likely that Emmanuel Adebayor WON'T be
leaving the Emirates Stadium this summer. Despite reiterating his commitment days ago, unreliable
blogs and newspapers continue to link the Togo frontman with some of Europe's footballing elite.
Gooner Talk have listed 5 reasons why Ade won't be [.
This is all over Twitter land today and soccer blogs like The Offside, so I figured I'd quickly
post it too.
It's, of course, the official Michael Jackson USA Soccer tribute jersey, on sale for the low price
of $90.
At first I was confused as to why Jackson received the number "5." I started thinking - ok - that
is Oguchi Onyewu's number, and he is a defender - and Jackson had to defend himself against child
molestation charges - so maybe there is some sort of "defense" link there.
Sony Ericsson is giving away a number of FIFA branded Special Edition W995 handset worth £500
through a bunch of different blogs. And just like in those delightfully hallucinogenic Willy Wonka
films, one of the handset boxes will include a golden ticket worth an all expenses paid trip to
South Africa for the 2010 World Cup and free tickets to all their country's games for as long as
they're in the tournament.
Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos is reported to have agreed a switch to Everton.
The Swiss centre-half has slipped down the pecking order at Emirates Stadium in recent times,
and spent the 2008/09 season on loan at AC Milan.
Despite the Gunners having offloaded Kolo Toure to Manchester City this summer,Arsene
Wenger has moved to snap upThomas Vermaelen from Ajax.
Today has been a big day for Arsenal; We are to face Celtic in Champions league qualifying which
as "harregas the gooner" said on the post below is very ironic and many transfer stories have
stated prevailing in the last few hours, so the papers should be full of them tomorrow.
Arsenal to up Chamakh bid
The Daily Mail is saying Wenger will up his bid for the Moroccan forward to £7.
Arsene Wenger has made a fresh move for St Etienne midfielder Blaise Matuidi after fearing Cesc
Fabregas is facing an injury lay-off.
Arsenal captain Fabregas, 22, faces a race to be fit for Saturday's trip to Manchester United
and could be out for up to three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Hello people, hopefully you will have a good Bank Holiday Monday and spend it wisely.
Not that much on transfer gossip this morning apart from what was said yesterday about Chamakh
and Viera. One small bit about Blaise Matuidi and how St Etienne want £8 million and how Wenger
will not pay that, but that's a very small story in the general scheme of things.
Good times lay ahead, we know that anyway. But.... Good times could be 99% assured this
season should we sign two players this January. I know it is a while off January at this time
but I'm sure Wenger is already looking ahead so shy shouldn't we. I'm not gonna mention the papers
because as soon as the window shuts they are looking for the next window moves, but anyway.
Overall, a really good article:
Lambert said she was shaken and appalled by some of the responses she received in
e-mail messages, telephone messages and on blogs, which included the publishing of her parents'
home phone number in Southern California and one suggestion that "I should be taken to a state
prison, raped and left for dead in a ditch.
Dülp at the German blog Bolzplatz has an interesting post on Gladbach and the club's recent
winter acquisitions. He's experiencing a crisis of faith in the club, seeing Meyer's recent moves
as "Advocaat Reloaded." In other words, Meyer's calls for a complete rebuilding of the
team and given carte blanche to do so [.
