Sometimes I am amazed at how much information there is out there on this ol' internet thing that we
love to play on each day. The information all comes from various places like TV, radio, newspapers,
blogs, etc. Then sometimes there is that lack of media or lack of information that can be down
right surprising.
See here's the thing with signing Freddie Ljungberg. In addition to what he brings on the field, he
brings a name and looks off the field. You can call me superficial if you like but I have to say
that when Hollywood gossip sites as popular as Perez Hilton are reporting on still unconfirmed MLS
transfer talk because you look better than me in a pair of underwear I ain't mad at you.
When i first saw the new squad numbers for next year i was disappointed to see Theo still had
nombre 32. I commented on a few other blogs who had reported news that it would of been great for
Theo to get Henry's old number and so a week later he has. Whether Theo actually went out of his
way to request it or Wenger thought it would give some confidence and the idea of the expectation
there is for him next season who knows, but the English Henry has become a tiny bit more of a
reality.
So there is a new pro-blogger (i.e. a newspaper man who actually gets a check to geek out) on the
block. His name is Craig Stouffer and he's curating The Pitch, the soccer blog of the Washington
Examiner. And yes, he's possibly the bravest man in American soccer writing. That or he's just
embarked on a death march.
Just as promised, once I got more information, I would pass it along to you. This morning was more
like a flood of information from sources, reports, and other blogs. What we do know is Captain
America has retired. But what it appears to be now is he was some what forced into retirement by
his [...]

Top 50 blogs futbol Latinoamerica

Yanks Abroad reports that Landon Donovan's agent failed to deny a Sky Sports report concerning a
possible move by the American to the EPL.
They then report this:
Donovan was recently quoted by the English media giant as saying, "The older I get
and the more I play, the more I'm yearning for that highest level I can play at.
Juventus wing star Sebastian Giovinco's agent has denied speculation the 'Old Lady's' midfielder
has held talks with Premier League club Arsenal. Reports in the English media, as well as Arsenal
blogs, claim the 21-year-old has been in touch with the Gunners over a possible move to London.
Contrary to those reports, Giovinco's representative, Andrea D'Amico, insists there [.
Stevenage Borough last night announced that former Ipswich academy coach Steve Greaves has been
appointed as first team coach under the new managerial set up at Broadhall Way. Greaves spent 14
years as a coach at Portman Road after being forced to quit playing football at the age of just 24
after spells with Fulham, [.
Hey y'all. I was the guest blogger for The Red Card, the Chicago Tribune's soccer blog. It seems
that Luis is on holiday and in between interesting people like Leslie Osborne and Ben Olsen, he
decided to let me sully the good name of the venerable Windy City publication. Nice!
If you want to see what I have to say about blogging go here.
14 days till kick-off. The team blogs are buzzing with activity. This blog is slowly recovering
from its' summer hibernation. Following the Weekly Dose's triumphant return to this blog, it's now
time to have regular week-in-review posts again as well. Abby spent her time patiently waiting for
Etoile's Amine Chermiti.
Reading United blogs and forums, the general consensus from our fans is that it's rather amusing
that Arsenal have taken Mikael Silvestre off our hands. No doubt a total professional and someone
who shied away from the limelight, he's always been one of the worst players in our team. Whilst
much more competent as a full-back, [.
Leave it to an online source to figure out what's going on, or, in this case, shed more confusion
on the situation.
The good men over at MetroFanatic went all the way to contact MLS Deputy Commissioner Ivan Gazidis
to seek a response into the rumors that the league blocked the transfer of Macoumba Kandji to the
Red Bulls.
Sexism in sports blogging: A Q&A. You should all read this. I think the soccer blogosphere (god, I
hate that word) is actually a little better about all this than some other sections of the sports
blogging world -- seriously, there are sites that I can't even read because they're so overtly
misogynist.
Everyone has a blog now. Everyone from The Don to disreputable folks like me has there own platform
with which they can be heard and I'm pretty down with it. Whether that is due to the fact that we
just watched "Pump Up The Volume" in the office and I'm jacked up on pirate radio DJ-envy
& the closing scene's egalitarian overtones, I can't say.
Whilst thumbing through The Ball is Round: A Global History of Soccer in bed the other night, I
wondered to myself "when is someone going to do the first book about Becks in America?".
With Europe's bookshelves already rammed full of books about our David it was only a matter of time
before someone got in the act over on this side of world.
If you haven't seen it, the fifth and final chapter of This is American Soccer's epic Clint Dempsey
mini-series "The Game Don't Care" was posted yesterday. You should definitely check it
out if you haven't and if you didn't read the first four installments you should quit sleeping on
it. Personally, I think it's the best & most in-depth piece on a US player this year.
With so many players leaving Broadhall Way during the summer, here is where some of them ended up.
Tyrone Berry Peter Taylor signed Berry last January as Craig Dobson's replacement, but he was
released in the summer after failing to command a regular place. Berry ended up being offered a
short term contract by Gillingham, although has [.
So I just read this piece on Don Garber's speaking engagement at USC last night on 100 Percent
Soccer. Allegedly at one point The Don said something he may have had second thoughts about and
followed it up with "I hope there's no media people here, they'll get me in trouble for
this." Personally I don't think what he says was that controversial or too off base but for
his own reasons he thought better of it afterward.
Go to Soccer Insider right now and check out Dan Steinberg's superb video piece with sidelined DC
United midfielder Ben Olsen. Go. Now. It's the best thing I've seen all week and it's much better
than Ben's wedding spread in Brides Magazine.
As jokey, and superficial as TOR is, I have a massive boner for tasteful, erudite reporting like
this.
There is a new group getting into the fight for a downtown stadium in Houston, but this one is
neither a boxing legend nor a university. Instead this new group is made up of fans that want to do
something other then just complain about the situation.
Thus enters Home for the Dynamo.
Although their goal is to raise money towards building the new home of the back-to-back MLS Cup
champions, they are under no delusions about their ability to bring in millions.
Friday 20th June As there is a delay in my writing of these blogs by a couple of days it's now
Saturday and I'm sat on an Easyjet flight back to England. I really don't feel like writing much as
I'm so depressed over Friday nights events, so, if you don't mind readers we'll skip Thursday and
move straight to Friday.
So in case you are still wondering, and I doubt many still are, I'll tell you what's up with the
DESIGNATED PLAYERS. Obviously it has nothing to with any high profile MLS signings as some have
suggested in various message boards and chat rooms; as novel as it would be I doubt the league
would ever announce a major acquisition through a viral campaign, especially through one this
minimal.
As hinted to in earlier posts, it's almost time for my second annual Premiership preview.
Beginning this Friday, August 1, I'll be covering two teams a day for 10 days, starting with the
club I believe will finish dead last this year and working my way up in order to the eventual
league champion.
Following a request what follows is a brief summary of information supplied to the "Hate
Man Utd Survey". The plan is to run the survey until 1000 responses are entered - there is
quite away to go! Could readers please post links to it in other blogs or forums they use to draw
attention to [...]
Blogger-in-arms & fellow Designated Player Adam Spangler spent a mess of time in London at the tail
end of last season with Clint Dempsey. They were getting mobbed by school kids and rolling through
SW6 to a soundtrack straight out of Houston's 5th Ward. If only I was there, then it would have
been truly ridiculous.
Part three of This Is American Soccer's Clint Dempsey chronicles is live today. You know, there may
have been a book in this...it's that long. And that's certainly not a complaint. Dare I say it, but
this may be the deepest look into the life of any current US soccer player since the days of Freddy
mania.
I'm just going to piggyback onto The Original Winger here and salute the twisted genius of Bill
Archer.
In light of Mark Cuban's disparaging comments recently about blogs and bloggers, a Galaxy staffer
and I were discussing some of the crucial differences between blogs and articles in print.
He mentioned that he thought Luis, for example, was more outspoken on this blog than he is in other
outlets, pointing out that Luis will occasionally swear on our blog.
Fellow & aspiring bloggers take note. This right here is how you do it.
Just an FYI post about a new blog that's out there. If you're a Fire fan or if you're hunting for a
bit of Chicago-related news, add Backdraft to your bookmarks. It's written by a slew of Section
8er's and is one of the best supporter-run blogs out there....give them a click when you get
chance.
More great video from the Irish Outsider. I slept on his Chicago Fire film a few weeks back (I was
too caught up in my newly acquired PS3 at the time), but I'm not sleeping on his latest
creation.
His latest subject/victim is Major League Soccer's prodigal son, the San Jose Earthquakes.
MLS continued down the digital road this past weekend as commissioner Don Garber launched his blog,
'The Commissioner Speaks.' Although the first entry is not that exciting, this is a great direct to
take. Hopefully they will soon figure out how to allow comments and maybe give it more linkage off
the front page, but for now, it's just nice to know they are doing this.
So I was just reading this press release about Mo Johnston joining the cast of GolTV's Extra Time show and it's dawned on me that there are enough separate entities that produce a product with that name to tie up every single intellectual property court in the country for the entirety of the next world cup qualifying cycle.
Stevenage Borough have officially unveiled their new kit for next season. The kit looks like the
one that was leaked on BoroChat a few weeks back and is due to go on sale on Thursday from the club
shop. It isn't the greatest picture to show off a new strip. Where as top Premier League [...]
Stevenage Borough have failed in a bid for Cambridge defender Wayne Hatswell. The former
Forest Green & Rushden defender joined the U's in January and starred in their run in which ended
with a play-off final defeat at Wembley to Exeter City. Hatswell is predomantly a centre back, but
can be used a left back if [.
Ever wonder what Chad Barrett sees when he closes his eyes at night? It could be something like
this, but with a few more extreme close ups. I nicked this video from our man at Climbing the
Ladder --which if you don't know is the Rain Man of MLS stats-- and it is hands down one of the
coldest things ever committed to tape.
Ashley Westwood has left Stevenage by "mutual consent". The writing was on the wall
really when Westwood's face was missing from the 2008/2009 squad photo, even though Peter
Vincenti, who is also on the transfer list, is in the picture. Westwood was only at Boro
for 7 months after joining the club on a free transfer from Chester [.
