Last night the Wizards hosted a presentation on their World Cup bid for the 2018 or 2022 World Cup for members of the "new media" aka blogs. Due to other commitments, I was unable to attend the event, but Thad over at The Back Post did attend and has TONS of great information about the bid over on his blog. Click to continue reading...

Elizabeth Lambert interview in the New York Times

The Fake Sigi Schmid Blog 18 November @ 01:55 PM EST
Overall, a really good article:
Lambert said she was shaken and appalled by some of the responses she received in e-mail messages, telephone messages and on blogs, which included the publishing of her parents' home phone number in Southern California and one suggestion that "I should be taken to a state prison, raped and left for dead in a ditch.

Joy Of The People

On The Pitch 16 November @ 09:52 AM EST

There are a lot of people writing about youth soccer on blogs these days which is a great thing. It wasn't long ago that OTP was pretty unique in the 'soccersphere' concentrating on youth soccer. Most youth soccer blogs are written about how to be a better coach, though often that means a better coach just like the blog's author.

Van Persie tears ankle ligaments plus transfer talk

Arsenal-highlights » The best Arsenal blog and highlights site! 15 November @ 05:27 AM EST

Arsenal have been rocked by an injury to star striker Robin van Persie which could see the Dutchman ruled out of action for around two months.

Van Persie was stretchered off during Holland's goalless friendly draw in Italy on Saturday night.

He damaged his ankle in a challenge with Giorgio Chiellini in the early stages of the clash.

Nico saves the day; New Guy in town

The Offside - Chelsea 14 November @ 06:40 PM EST

Off a defender, off a post, in the net. Mr. Anelka took care of business away for France, making their trip to South Africa look pretty likely. As Jack posted earlier this week, Nico likes being the supporting striker, but that doesn't mean he doesn't like to let it rip on occasion.

Also in action today, Deco, Ricardo Carvalho, and Paulo Ferreira all played as Portugal won 1-0 against Bosnia, as Hilario, who won his first callup for Portugal, didn't make the bench.

CleverFootball.com And Man On Platform 13

The Flat Back Four 08 November @ 10:16 AM EST
I came across a site last week which captured my attention. It's a site not dissimilar to most news aggregator websites like Footballblips, NewsNow and Soccerblogs. However, the nicest thing about CleverFootball.com is that the football news from blogs and/or broadsheets are segregated by teams. So one can read every news available on his/her team at CleverFootball. Click to continue reading...

Finally the teams balance is right!

Arsenal-highlights » The best Arsenal blog and highlights site! 06 November @ 10:57 AM EST

I have to say I'm quite liking Arsenal's current situation; the team is playign really well and everyone off the bench also fits in exceptionally, which is great and the first time I believe this in a while! To add to this the media are not rating us this may be a bit down heartening for the players but there is currently no pressure on them, unlike Chelsea Man Utd and Liverpool.

Odd Weekend of Playoffs Exposes the Worst Flaw of the MLS

Major League Soccer Talk 02 November @ 03:20 PM EST

Game Day!

The Offside - LA Galaxy 01 November @ 12:55 PM EST

I think we have the edge in today's match. But don't count Chivas out. When it's a derby match, each team can play their best soccer of the season. Today it should be the Galaxy. If Buddle is on his game today, we will be unstoppable.

I'm so nervous/excited that I can't think of anything else intelligent to say.

Good from the Arsenal. I'm popping online about 5 hours after the match, and none of the blogs I read have updated.
