Scouting, statistics and rice: the rise and fall of Arsène Wenger - FT.com: I don't think any of
the themes about Arsene Wenger that Simon Kuper covers in this article will surprise any of the
readers of this blog. I'm mostly posting this link (free sign-up required) because one of the most

So, how do you write an article following up on that then? Clearly those were a three points that
we should've been taking home, especially after a generally excellent first half performance. I'm
not going to dissect the game as frankly, you can read that on any Arsenal blog and having been at
the game, [.
Sometimes we, and by we I mean the blog, pay the price for this not being a full time job. There
are times when the job that pays the bills takes precedence over the enjoyment of bringing you blog
posts so long that your bosses, significant others, non-fantasy-playing friends, and children
complain about the time spent on them on occasion.

I think those who saw the match just now on TV would agree that bad decisions against us had cost
us dearly at Kunming.
Already handicapped by the climate that bogged both sides, the controversial call by the referee in
the second half on several decisions must had fumed a lot of folks back here with two dubious
penalty decisions that eventually paved the way to an unglamorous win for the hosts.
'Oh the Deadwood stage is a'comin on over the hill' (Now with videos. See end of blog). That
stagecoach sure looks pretty dang full up on top pardner. One or two have return tickets but may
get drygulched up in them there Northern hills. Yee Ha! So the window closes and it gets better the
more I think about it.
The Alliance Council met prior to the match against the Columbus Crew. An update is now posted
over at the SoundersFC.com Alliance Council Blog (which will be getting frontpage attention soon).
The main issues resolved around voting changes, work on the Constitution/ByLaws/Charter (which will
be public for voting in Sept) and the End of Year Meeting.
Today CONCACAF World Cup qualifying starts for 19 more national associations in the confederation,
with matches going on from Toronto to Georgetown. (Or is Paramaribo further south?) This post will
be updated throughout the day with results and events as they come in, but I'll be working so it
will be more of a semi-live blog.
Transfer Window Review (Part 2) | Midfield
AnfieldIndex Liverpool FC Stats | Liverpool FC Blog | Liverpool FC Forum This is Part II of my
Transfer Window review, and a follow up to my original articles for "What our Team Needs" which I
wrote back in April. Part I (Defenders) can be found here.
It's gonna be a short one today, I can guarantee you that. There's so little going on it could
well be one of those where you might do something to fill the gap. Like, take an extract from the
blog on this day in a year gone by. Like this from 2008:
So here we are Arsechums.
When two new players were officially signed by Newcastle United on August 30th, most of the
attention was pointed in the direction of a certain ex Internazionale defender called Davide
Santon, who has been compared in the past to no lesser figure than Paulo Maldini by legendary
manager, Arrigo Sacchi.
The full roster of players has now arrived in Belgium. All 20 players trained this morning but not
before a late dash to the field by Kyle Beckerman! Kyle arrived on the overnight flight and went
straight from the airport to the training pitch. A set of gear was waiting for him, and once he dug
his boots out of his suitcase he was good to go.
I apologize for the delay in getting past the first team transfer summary. We are using the
international break for a nice rustic vacation in Maine. I've been trying to generally stay away
from the internet, email, and the other things that I tend to use for both my day job as well as
staying up with current events in the Premier League and posting to the blog.

Here is a good video posted on Youtube that gives an insight into our three games in August. It
refers to our new signings but be aware this was posted a day before transfer deadline day.
This video covers Stoke away, West Brom at home and Norwich at home along with the signings of
Romeu, Lukaku, and Mata.
I've finally bitten the bullet and bought a domain name for this blog.
All articles will now appear at http://spiritofmirko.com
I didn't really want to keep using the "Mirko Bolesan" title as it's a bit odd having a blog
named simply after a footballer, however good they once were.
I'm currently in the process of moving over all of the old articles that I think are worth
keeping, and at some point I'll shut this site down.

The Man: stripped for action Video: see end of blog. So once more our season begins. The
statistical apologists will argue that the first two games don't count as we didn't win them last
year and we didn't win them this year either Nothing to see here move on. If we beat Wolves we will
in fact be better off than last year by two points, poised in their logical minds, no doubt, to

Made my first trip to see a match at the Emirates today to watch Arsenal play Swansea. Luckily I
saw Arsenal win 1-0. But it was far from an impressive performance by the Gunners.
Yes they won via an Arshavin goal, but Swansea really should have equalized late in aded time
when Danny Graham shot over from the edge of the six yard box.
Stoke City Vs Liverpool FC | Defence v Attack
AnfieldIndex Liverpool FC Stats | Liverpool FC Blog | Liverpool FC Forum It was not a good day
for Liverpool FC on Saturday, 10th September. A loss to Stoke at the Britannia Stadium for the
second consecutive season does not make for good reading.
I swore to myself I wouldn't get involved and would stay away from this fight as Ashley has got the
fans at each other throats with the current state of affairs at SJP but after reading a recent
'blog by my colleague on here, and the fairly large response to it, I couldn't hold my [...]

If you're reading this, congratulations—it means you can access the blog while many people,

the first blog to have their platform dropped on top of the current site instead of the more usual
method of migrating to a new home.

Today is a travel day for the U.S. WNT as the players will fly from all parts of the USA - where
they have been enjoying a brief break since the end of the WPS season - to Kansas City to prepare
for their first match since the end of the WWC. That will take place at the sparkling new
LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, home to Sporting Kansas City of MLS, on Sept.
The word "stability" is probably never exist in the dictionary of the league authority with the
latest news that broke out this morning (screen-grab below) that suggested the possibility of
2009's League Cup winners DPMM of Brunei of rejoining the league.
I guess we shouldn't be too surprise of this latest development.
About a week or so ago, I started trying to plan what to write about for the next international
break. I got to thinking it would be cool to write about some of the young players coming up
through the Arsenal system. However, I wasn't sure where to start. I remembered that Martin wrote a
few blogs about certain players back in the day.
