We've been told that U.S. WNT goalkeeper Hope Solo and actress Jennifer Carpenter, most known
for her critically acclaimed role as Debra Morgan on the Showtime series Dexter, bear a remarkable
resemblance to each other.
We've got to admit, we see it.
Hope tells the WNT Blog that more than a few people have made the comparison to her and while she's
not so sure, she also can see how some might think it true.
The Development Academy Winter Showcase is finished. After 234 games over five days (plus a very
memorable Nike International Friendlies), the event has come to its close. What's next for these
clubs? They're all at different points in their respective seasons and they'll all be aiming to be
at the next big Academy Event: the 2012 Development Academy Playoffs in the spring.
Just wanted to provide a quick update for everyone concerning the status of Dynamo Theory during
the holidays. With things mostly calm around the Dynamo and the league in general, we'll be taking
a break for the next couple weeks and recharging out batteries for 2012.
We've got the MLS SuperDraft and the winter transfer window in January, along with doing some
looks back at the 2011 season, so you've got plenty to look forward to.
With all the press reports, stories, rumours and opinion on Chelsea at the moment highlighting the
problems we have at Stamford Bridge, I was wondering what you the Chelsea/Football fan reading this
thinks is the best way to move Chelsea forward from here?
Do you feel it's the manager, formation, tactics or players?
As an addendum to my recently published transcription of Joey Barton's interview for QPR 'blog
"Open All R's," and also Derek Llambias' response to it, I'm posting the video of the part where he
lifts the lid on what was happening behind the scenes at Newcastle United during his spell there.

Guest blog: Deputy PM Nick Clegg backs the Mirror's Open Goal campaign for racial
equality in football
When it comes to racial equality, football's progress is very similar to Britain's. Like the
country, the game has come a long way in tackling racism in the last 30 years.
There has been one story that has cheered me up today about our beloved blues and that's
confirmation that Sam Hutchison has earned himself a new contract to the end of next season. Not
bad for someone who had to retire with injury a while ago!.
I posted on my blog before that Hutchison is an inspiration and this news confirms the case.
The visit of the sky blues of Abu Dhabi to The Home of Football and the subsequent infiltration
of this very blog the day after got me thinking....

December 2nd is becoming a day of retirements it seems. Earlier today the Terry Boss retirement
became official, and now Taylor Graham is also retiring. Graham's MLS career may be one easy to
pass over in history, but if there is one thing he was and always will be is a Sounder. Over the
past several years with the team in two iterations playing for Adrian Hanauer and Brian Schmetzer
he won the Defender of the Year, twice was was names to the First Team in the USL as well as the
Humanitarian of the Year in 2009.
Priority for Lionel is his family and his club, Home UnitedWhile many consider retiring from
international football at the age of 29 is too young, especially for the case of goalkeeper.
After all, great custodians like Dino Zoff and Peter Shilton did maintain their presence between
the posts for their countries past their forties.
Jozy Altidore scored his fifth goal of the season for AZ Alkmaar, but lost 5-1, snapping an 11-game
unbeaten streak.
How the rest of our Americans did check out Steve Goff's Washington Post blog.

Bundesliga blog: Has Huntelaar finally found his home at Schalke?
Welcome to our new German football blog, courtesy of BundesligaFussball's Ross Dunbar *** As
time goes on, there is a large burden hanging over the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen with Schalke
yet to clinch a Bundesliga title since 1963.
It's been well chronicled on and away from this blog, but Robin van Persie is in the form of his
life. The Arsenal forward has scored 14 goals in 13 league starts this season, and 39 goals in 43
games ... Continue reading →
NOTE: I know several of you have stated that you really don't care when I write about that other
sport I referee. If that's the case for you, you can safely skip this series of entries. This blog
still has the same purpose as always (self-evaluation and venting when necessary), but it won't be
focused on footy for a while, as for me this is the soccer off-season.
We're back! Regular readers will have noticed this blog has essentially been on hiatus since Nov.
29. But it was more than that. Due to a technical issue (I'll leave it at that) I was unable to
post updates and readers were unable to leave comments. Those issues have now
THIS BLOG HAS BEEN VERY SLOW FOR THE PAST TWO WEEKS
IT WAS TAKING A NAP, AFTER A LOT OF HECTIC DAYS.
WILL BE BACK SOON :)
For now, something old and nice, from the 1990 friendly before the WC festival, Uruguay beat
England at Wembly 2-1.
All goals were very nice, especially that John Barnes goal for England, I was looking for it since
very long time,

Hi my dear friends,
This blog has been running for almost 5 years under my fingers :-) and as we are heading for
another historic summer ( in which Oranje will trash Spain
4-0 in the finals!!) it's time for me to ask you all some questions.

Bundesliga blog: Can Cologne hold on to their most prized asset in January?
Welcome to our new German football blog, courtesy of BundesligaFussball's Ross Dunbar *** The
festive period will bring mixed emotions for FC Cologne boss Stale Solbakken with the January
transfer window and the winter break interrupting the league campaign.
Story featured today in The Sun
It's been confirmed that Nicolas Anelka has signed for
Shanghei Shenhua on a reported £6m a
year contract for two years. The club released an official statement on the
Chelsea website
here saying:
Chelsea Football Club and Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua have agreed terms for the
permanent transfer of Nicolas Anelka in the January transfer window.
REAL MADRID CF player CRISTIANO RONALDO has been pointed out by fans & the media as one of the
principal disappointments of last Saturdays "Clasico" with FC BARCELONA, where the Madrid team
was defeated 1 - 3. I personally, here on the blog posted ( story below), that Ronaldo
repeatedly "chokes" in the big occasions ( observable experience with nothing against the man
personally).
It's my blog and I can do what I want at any time - and at this time I want to boast, boast, boast!
On Saturday, my brother and his wife completed my awesome niece treble in fine fashion, finally
giving the world Audrey (who not only sleeps as constantly as her daddy, she has his
"promptness").With her joining sisters Sam and Courtney (r-l), I am now equipped with an

With the 2012 Houston Dynamo season just around the corner, it's time to get your feedback about
the blog and see if I can sweet talk some of you in to becoming part of the writing team here on
Dynamo Theory.
I'm looing to hear from our readers to get your opinions and suggestions about how the blog is
doing and what kind of content and coverage you'd like to see in 2012.
The feet-dragging on various issues pertaining the S.League is not doing any good if the league
authority is keen to have the struggling competition back on its feet.
With mysteries of the identities of Winston Lee's replacement for the league's CEO, the 13th and
14th team still looming large, plus the near "black-out" on S.
Note: Because of the origins of the Arsenal Statues and because of their obvious historical
context, the launch of the statues has already been covered in depth on our companion site the
Arsenal History blog.
But, I know that many readers of Untold don't always pop along to the History site.
On the USA's day off from training on Friday, U.S. defender Meghan Klingenberg spent several hours
at the The Home Depot Center offices taking the final exam of her college career. The test was
proctored by U.S. GM Tim Ryder, and Kling made short work of the Business Analytical Applications
exam. Not.
So yesterday, the 16th of December, AC Milan celebrated (I don't want to know how) 112 years of
a glorious and rich history spanning back from the club's foundation as The Milan Cricket and
Football Club in 1899 to the present. As a tip of the hat to this fine sporting institution, I will
dedicate this post to that faction of Milanese society that is eligible to play for another fine,
some may say finer, institution, the Italian national team, one half of the pure and unabridged
reason for this blog's existence, the other half being to spread evil rumours about a defenceless
old lady.
One of the writers for another SB Nation MLS blog is wondering if the Seattle Sounders get
enough from their Vegas Combine. Shouldn't a team with Seattle's resources be able to capture more
talent out of the draft than just those that attend the MLS Combine? Possibly this is true, but it
ignores that the Sounders Vegas Combine discovered many talents and it offers the scouting and
coaching staff a three day calibration clinic.
Picture Credit: 123RF.comIt has come to this part of the year when I would always pen my annual
review to summarize my thoughts on what happened in the past twelve months in Singapore
Football.
Having said that, I must admit that it's been quite a difficult year for the local football that
has been struggling with myriad of procrastinating problems that remain lingering.

At long last, Matchfit USA is un-dead. Unfortunately, Jason Davis will be hacking it out

So that's it. Find me doing things at KCKRS, writing for US Soccer Players, podcasting

The latest in our conversations series is an important one in that it features a supporter of the
only Championship club to break even in 2010-11, Scunthorpe United. After our re-launch in January,
we hope to increase the amount of attention paid to the financial ills of the game and as Max Bell
states below – success on the pitch is no proper substitute for sustainability long term.

Just so I'm not accused of bias and favouritism by Real Madrid fans, some of whom I can count
amongst friends, I also found this video worth sharing with the wider world. In a similar fashion
to the Lionel Messi video (previous blog), here are all of Cristiano Ronaldo's goals from the
2011-12 season so far crammed into a 90 second piece.
To all those that took time out of their busy lives to read my blog this past twelve
months, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all soccer and football fans and their families
across the world a very Merry Christmas. I have readers in all four corners of the globe and is
very satisfying to know that at least someone, somewhere is paying attention to what you
write.
