A surprise and special visit at the hotel this afternoon
when Charlie Davies dropped by to say hello to his friends on the team. Charlie is looking great
and walking on his own. He is returning to Delaware to continue rehabilitation; right now he is in
great spirits and taking things one day at a time.
ESPN's U.S. National Team Blog discusses the options available to replace Charlie Davies at forward
and also mentions a rumor that Carlos Bocanegra might be on the move from Rennes to St. Etienne.
You can read about it by clicking here.
Lee Nguyen is heading back to Vietnam.
With injury woes plaguing the U.S. national team, fans will be relieved to hear some good news
about one of the walking wounded.
U.S. defender Oguchi Onyewu was in Philadelphia this past weekend for the NSCAA Convention and
spoke with the MLS Insider Blog about his rehab and the progress he has made in recent weeks and
months.
There's an interesting article over at the NY Times Goal Blog that looks at who will replace
Clint Dempsey for the US if he's not fit for the World Cup. It's a good piece, but I do take issue
with the main premise Jeffrey Marcus looks at replacement midfielders (Rogers, Holden, and
Kljestan), but I feel that Dempsey should be playing forward, where he generally lines up at
Fulham.

All of us that read this blog consume mass amounts of soccer whether it's on television, the
Internet, radio or, for the fortunate few, in person. But take a second and consider when was the
last time you watched a professional game in person?
For me, it's been many months. The only professional team near me is Miami FC, which was
formerly in the USL.
17-year old Samuel Galindo is an Arsenal player. The former Real America midfielder will go on loan

The Game Having defeated them 2-0 four days ago, a same-scoreline victory would see us go top of

The Game I am a personal fan of the kids who play in the Carling Cup, but sometimes you have to

You probably know of Darius Vassell's toils in Turkey. What you may not know is that he

The Game Based on what we saw this afternoon, this is a very important point won rather than two
precious lost points. Everton came to the Emirates with no intention whatsoever to sit back and
defend ...
As per my usual, I always write the day-after thoughts 24 hours after the final whistle more or

Berkeley Sports Blog recently spoke with 2010 Ga signee Andrew Wiedeman, a product of the

A busy day in the "where are they now" files
The Game With what is coming up next in the Premiership, I completely agree with Arsene Wenger's
starting line-up. Sol Campbell needed a game to test his fitness out, ditto for Theo Walcott and
sooner or ...
The Game Before the game I said this could go either way and you can say the pitch confirmed this.
Villa Park is never an easy place to visit, remember they beat Chelsea here, but having ...
At #96 on the list is a daisycutting beauty from Vladimir Smicer in the greatest ever Champions
League Final against AC Milan in 2004-2005. Down 0-3 at halftime due to goals from Paulo Maldini
and Hernan Crespo (2), Liverpool were genuinely and realistically only hoping not to get
slaughtered in the second half.
Arsenal went to Fratton Park with a point to prove. The Gunners have evolved in so many ways and
showed consistency since losing to Chelsea at the Emirates. Now Arsene Wenger's team lies in third

Conor Casey, who is about to join the US training camp for its upcoming friendly

Up till a couple of years back, information about Liverpool's reserves and youth sides was limited
to those who could actually go to watch them played. All of that changed almost overnight when
LFCtv was launched and made it much easier for people to actually see whether the players that had
been billed as the next big thing were in reality any good.

Landon Donovan and Kasey Keller are widely known as important soccer figures in and out of MLS
circles. Through FIFPro, Donovan and Keller expressed their concerns on what a potential lock-out
could do to the league and the sport in America if owners aren't willing to compromise on a few key
issues.
