...Or at least if you had just read the reactions from the fans and trigger-happy journalists,
you'd think this is what Henry had actually done:
On a serious note, the 'victims' the Irish team have been refreshingly objective about the
situation and have laid the blame squarely on the horrible refereeing and to a much lesser extent
on their own poor finishing as the real reasons why the French and not the Irish are headed to
South Africa.

Sepp Blatter was in town recently for the Gold Cup final and then flew down to DC, invited to
the White House for a meeting with Barack Obama. The FIFA president formally invited the US
president to attend the World Cup in South Africa next year. Obama also took the opportunity to
make a plug for USA's bid for the 2018 or 2022 World Cup.
I keep hearing Barcelona this and Barcelona that. Well I've got an opinion on Barcelona too. Fuck
'em!
Yes they play marvellous football. At times they've seemed like Arsenal on steroids. But they ain't
invincible. Only we can ever claim that title.
The bastards keep trying to tap-up our players so I've no respect for them.
"It's a fucking disgrace."
-Didier Drogba, to millions of viewers worldwide following the most undeserved result this side of
"Titanic" winning a best picture Oscar.
Now, for the fuck offs...
- Fuck off Tom Henning for being the most inept official since the one that handed out three
yellows to a single player at the 06 World Cup.
There was some confusion today after FIFA President confirmed that the play-off draw for the
European qualifying groups will involve teams being seeded. Blatter was allegedly quoted after a
meeting in Rio de Janeiro as saying "We have decided on seeding the teams into two groups of four,
taking the FIFA .

Sepp Blatter, as we know, is the lord almighty in the world of football What he says, GOES! He says

The story of Thierry Henry's handball just won't go away. Almost two weeks have elapsed since
Ireland was knocked out, and the Football Association of Ireland refuses to leave without a final
word. The FAI asked FIFA last week about being the 33rd nation in the World Cup next year, as a
result of the unfair loss against France on November 18.
Barack Obama smarting from West Ham's weekend loss against Spurs and a 75% failure rate in the
Final Four maybe a bit of a lightweight when it comes to picking sports teams that actually win but
in throwing his weight behind the US bid for the 2018 World Cup, he knows a good thing, especially
in capturing the hearts and minds of the world.
Nope, this is not a joke!
Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu is pledging to fight against the order to pay Chelsea
€17million compensation as he issues an open letter to FIFA, Sep Blatter, and the English club,
according to the Italian media.
The striker was ordered to pay the mega sum following his drugs taking case which dates back to
October 2004.
It never fails. Every interlull brings the inevitable 'Cesc-to-Spain' stories. Cesc to
Barcelona, Cesc to Madrid, Cesc to Malaga, etc... Now, apparently, following their loss to Sevilla,
Madrid once again are making noise. Arsenal have reportedly received bids of up to £60m for
Fabregas over the last two seasons and each time the player and the club rejected them.

Give that man a yellow card for diving. It's a f**king disgrace, as Didier Drogba might
say. But which of his two faces did Dr Sepp fall on, I wonder?
This is, without a scintilla of doubt, the best football-related clip on planet YouTube.
Since there's nothing else going on due to the international break, I thought I'd take the
opportunity to write something a little less topical that I've been worrying about lately. I think
FIFA's recent crackdown on Chelsea and other clubs could be a very bad omen indeed for Arsenal.
As you have no doubt heard, FIFA recently handed down a decision which prohibits Chelsea from
making any purchases over the next 2 transfer windows.
I hear you, Aaron, but missing out on the Olympics is pretty bad for American soccer, especially
women's soccer.
The Olympics have historically been very kind to the USWNT. Remember, the Golden Generation got
their big boost from the Richard Jewell Olympics in 1996, the worst in human memory.

Steven Goff (we're not worthy) OPENED THE QUESTIONING on Monday regarding how the US should handle
the two tournaments they're committed to this Summer and reported that Jack Warner lickspittle
Sunil Gulati, whose hobby is being President of USSF, and USMNT Coach-for-the-moment Bob Bradley
were scheduled to meet with MLS officials to toss around the fact that, technically, Bradley can
pretty much rape Major League Soccer for a goodly chunk of the season.
Yesterday, I considered the question of the name of our sport, football vs
soccer. Today I jump on another question regarding the purity of the beautiful game: should we
implement live video review? Please use the comment section to weigh in on this issue.
If I ever got dragged to a birthday party for FIFA President Sepp Blatter and was forced to
stand up and say something nice about the guest of honor, the best I could probably muster is:

Good morning folks. As we move toward what should be a great weekend of soccer action in Europe
and MLS, it's time for the latest installment of Your Questions Answered.
Among the topics covered? MLS stadiums, MLS expansion, DaMarcus Beasley and yes, even John
O'Brien (No, he'll never go away).
With only a few days left in transfer window I would like to reflect on the major dealings of
the summer and some changes I would introduce if I was Sepp Blatter.
As we all know, Manchester City and Real Madrid have been at the center of transfer activity
during the summer, spending obscene amounts of money on players.
Football's governing body FIFA have made drastic changes to the laws surrounding the controversial
Pre and Mid season transfer windows due to the confusion over its existence and the many grey areas
surrounding loan deals and deadlines. Sepp Blatter, with the support of Michel Platini, has decreed
that every professional club (non league teams are exempt) [.
Major League Soccer
A common complaint about Major League Soccer is its failure or unwillingness to observe FIFA
International breaks. As recently as this month we have seen MLS matches played at the same time as
crucial World Cup Qualifiers involving the United States National Team, this despite earlier
indications from MLS that the League was going to pay closer attention to these FIFA breaks during
the 2009 season.
FIFA president gets his kicks from a bit of simulation Sepp Blatter has confessed that he is a

What happens when Sepp Blatter and his cronies see millions of dollars and plenty of prestige in
danger of disappearing? They change the system.
That's the conclusion drawn by many after FIFA last night announced they were altering their
planned World Cup 2010 qualification play-offs system to seed teams based on their FIFA world
rankings, a decision which clearly favours the traditionally strong nations.
Brunei is a tiny dot, well two dots actually, on the world's surface. It's a relatively harmless
little place that plods along in it's own sweet little way usually without getting pissed. It's not
often the country or anyone from the country makes any ripples anywhere. A big news story there is
a maid being sacked for cutting her toenails while watching imported soap operas.
The word is getting out:

Even if the 2010 World Cup is a ringing success artistically - and Sepp Blatter has made a
brilliant career for himself by being smart enough to step back and let eh football speak for
itself - the fact that South Africa, a desperately poor country with enormous unemployment, crime,
housing and communicable disease problems, is literally bankrupting itself so that FIFA can pocket
billions.

Sepp Blatter is in the news again, this time explaining why he wants to remain as FIFA president.

FIFA announced the seeds and pots for Friday's World Cup draw, and the main talking point for
the US is that CONCACAF was put in the pot with Asia and Oceania as opposed to Africa. Of course,
the main talking point all over the world is that while the Hand of Henry may have gotten France
into the World Cup Finals, the Hand of Blatter has taken away France's seed even though they came
within a penalty kick of winning the last World Cup.

It may be eight years from now but the bidding to host the 2018 World Cup is underway and England
launched their bid on Monday, in the spectacular surroundings of Wembley Stadium.
David Beckham will front the bid, rather unsurprisingly. Well-known throughout the world Becks is
the obvious choice even though he will be well into his 40s by the time the tournament starts!
