Will Trezeguet's performance for Hercules be enough to catch Blanc's
attention?
If David Trezeguet has anything to say about it, then yes. On this Sunday's edition of Telefoot,
he declared himself "available" to Blanc should his former France teammate decide to call him
up.
Despite the arrival of Sebastien Squillaci for his medical today, it has been revealed that Arsene
Wenger still intends to bring in one more top-class defender to bolster the depleted Arsenal back
line. Having lost Mikael Silvestre, William Gallas, Sol Campbell and Phillipe Senderos this summer,
the signings of Laurent Koscielny and Squillaci is still [.
As if Frank Ribery hadn't endeared himself enough to Les Bleus fan, he has now declared himself
'almost German.' Politically, its a smart move at least for his club, Bayern Munich. After a long
negotiation process (which endured some controversy), Ribery signed a long-term contract last year
that will keep him at the club until 2015.
Blanc e il
Bordeaux si giocano una grande fetta di stagione. Forti della vittoria di
misura, rimediata ad
Atene all'andata, i girondini affrontano questa sera, allo
Chaban-
Delmas, i greci dell'Olympiakos, nella gara di ritorno degli ottavi di finale
di
Champions League.
Blanc channeling his best Gourcuff with mullet look
As one our commenters, Benj, mentioned already- Didier Deschamps, the current
coach of Olympique de Marseille and former France captain, gave a
very interesting interview to L'Equipe practically outing Laurant
Blanc as the next coach of Les Bleus.
Bordeaux confirmed that Blanc is indeed leaving Bordeaux to coach Les Bleus pending a final
agreement on compensation for the club's release of Blanc! For more details, see the post I wrote
the World Cup Blog front page.
At the World Cup this summer, both England and France fans were dealt some disappointing blows.
Sure, the details of what happened in the squads may be different. Arguably, what happened to
France was by far worse. While England merely fizzled out (with a few sparks-both good and bad)
during the tournament, France exploded.
Bordeaux.
I could have, should have, and would have written this sooner. However I was too busy fuming
over the fact that we were defeated. A few days later I think back and am satisfied with the
performance. For the first time in 6 years, there was a positive atmosphere. The French
commentators sounded optimistic, the fans were happy, the players sang la Marseillaise.
The Road to Euro 2012 continues on Tuesday...
Euro 2012 qualifying continues tomorrow (Tuesday, September 7) after the most countries kicked
off their qualification campaign last Friday. And even though we are two years away from the
final tournament and its only matchday 2- some countries are already under pressure to get
results.
Now here's a man who would be welcomed back with open arms at Manchester United in some capacity.
Laurent Blanc was all class and elegance on the field during his 20 year playing career which
ended...

It was a coming together of two world powers, so to speak. An England side that seems to have
lost their way took on a France side that seems to be finding theirs. Both were still in the
process of trying to blot out the same caustic memory of a depressing World Cup.
Since June's heartbreak, both countries have undergone changes in their own right.
