With 2010 in the books, let's look back at the best NBA dunks of the previous calendar year.
Watch this video to see the top ten dunks of 2010. Athleticism in the NBA is at an all-time high
and the evidence can be seen below. Usually, to see dunks this good, you have to wait for the Slam
Dunk Contest.
Blake Griffin is the real deal. The superstar rookie for the Los Angeles Clippers is slowly but
surely turning his team into a squad no one wants to play. On Wednesday, the Clippers hosted the
Miami Heat winners of 13 straight road games. With Blake Griffin leading the way with 24 points, 14
rebounds and six assists, the Clippers beat the Heat by a final score of 111-105.
Who will be in the NBA slam dunk contest? That question has a new answer as of Thursday. Since
Brandon Jennings is dealing with a foot injury, he has been replaced by DeMar DeRozan of the
Toronto Raptors. DeRozan came in second place last year in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest behind Nate
Robinson.
In addition to DeRozan, this year's dunkathon will feature Javale McGee, a center for the
Washington Wizards; Serge Ibaka, the shotblocking bigman for the Oklahoma City Thunder; and Blake
Griffin, the NBA Rookie of the Year.
