It's pre-season in European Football, with all the big leagues such as the English Premiership, La
Liga and Serie A taking their annual break prior to the new season. Obviously this is the period
where managers throughout the globe really earn their salt, in building, tweaking, or keeping
together squads.
One game down, forty-five to go as far as the 24 teams in the Championship is concerned, but what
did the opening weekend of fixtures tell us? Many regard Doncaster's 1-0 win at Derby as the
performance of the weekend, but that's only working on the assumption that Rovers were playing
League One football last [.

Canadian Michael D'Agostino is earning first team minutes, taking defenders on, and making plays
with Cheltenham Town F.C. The Vancouver, British Columbia native has been causing havoc down the
right side with his pace and attacking ability this season.
A large contingent of Blackpool F.C. supporters are attempting to petition the U.K. government to
authorize Jimmy Armfield's knighthood. The former right back received the OBE (Order of the British
Empire) in 2004 so he is clearly in line for his opportunity to be respectfully called 'Sir'.
Please do you part in these final hours and sign the petition for Armfield's knighthood at the
Jimmy Armfield Petition.

Blackpool F.C. right winger Michael D'Agostino kindly spoke with Soccer City FC prior to leaving
for England to kick off preseason training with the club.
On loan for most of last season with Cheltenham Town F.C., the Canadian youth international spoke
about his experience with the Robins as well as his outlook with the Seasiders for the 2008-2009
campaign.

According to some fans on the board (and the QPR Official Site itself), it's already a done
deal. But either way, it doesn't appear to be such a big deal. "Que Sera, Sera." Either
Gorkss will join QPR, or QPR will sign someone else (maybe for a bit more money). With all due
respect to Blackpool and Gorkss, the actual importance of QPR signing this particular player just
does not appear to be that big of a deal from the QPR perspective.
