On day three of cleaning out my garage, I found a pleasant surprise in a 1962 collection of 25
cards entitled "Football Clubs and Badges" from a company named Lamberts Of Norwich. The cards were
included in packets of tea ...

Sickening stuff from afore Blackpool's 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on
Tuesday evening, wherein Wednesday mascots Barney and Ozzie Owl launch a vicious and unprovoked
attack on ESPN's FA Cup mascot Buddy using the old 'kneel behind and push' takedown technique
beloved by schoolboys everywhere.
Saturday Everton - Blackpool 9:30am - Fox Soccer Landon Donovan's last game for Everton, with their
schedule empty for the rest of the month after their Premier League game against Liverpool was

English FA Cup Match Predictions 18 February 2012 - The 90th Minute Soccer Blog
Scattered amongst the news articles this week in the soccer world were two disturbing stories of
financial failure involving top clubs in both England and Scotland. Sadly, fans of Rangers and
Portsmouth awoke to the news that their clubs had entered "administration" due to overwhelming
financial debts which, according to the rules of their respective Leagues, means that both teams
receive a 10-point deduction for the current season.
This past two weeks have been pretty meh if you are a United fan. Knocked out of the FA Cup and
Champions League, we had nothing to look forward to over the last weekend, and nothing to really
bother about over the past two mid-weeks. We lost at home to Ajax, which in itself is a pretty fair
summation of how we have been in Europe at home this season piss poor.
If you're looking for a rundown of today's friendlies, we had you covered earlier aside from
late-breaking news that Scott Parker and not Steven Gerrard would be England Captain. But for those
more interested in the latest Liverpool news than watching fearfully through their fingers, worried
that one of Liverpool's players might end the day with an injury they didn't head into it with,
these notes are for you.

"£90? I don't even get out of bed for less than a ton!"
As you may be aware, God has been by the seaside these past few weeks, as Robbie Fowler has been
training with Blackpool with his eyes firmly set on securing a permanent deal with the Championship
club.

Dalglish to Blame for Liverpool Collapse - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Liverpool crumble to new lows after losing at the Stadium of Light. The reds now have 39 points
from 27 games, the very similar stats they had last season as well minus the heavy spending this
summer. What is more shocking is that despite spending 40 odd million just on attacking options
(Not to forget the 58 million spent on Carroll and Suarez in January 2011) the
club has only been able to score mere 30 goals, 5 less than premier league current leader Robin Van
Persie alone.
On the heels of a campaign in which Sacha Kljestan was a focal point in helping lead Anderlecht
to a Belgian league championship, the club is hoping to lock up the U.S. midfielder for the long
term.
Kljestan's current deal with Anderlecht runs through 2014, but according to Belgian outlet Het
Niuewsblad, Anderlecht is looking to extend Kljestan's stay in Belgium for two or three more years
beyond then.

Charlie Adam has admitted he was shocked to see Kenny Dalglish sacked by Liverpool, but is
determined to prove his worth to whoever is the new manager.
Dalglish was axed earlier this month after 18 months in the job at Anfield with the Reds icon
paying the price for their eighth-place finish in the Premier League.
Let's not beat around the bush here and let's tell it like it is. We've seen two managers, drama,
controversy, speculation, excitement, frustration and find ourselves at the turn of this year in
the exact same position as we did a year ago. Isn't it strange how things have turned out!
This is my review of 2011 and a year on my blog as written by me, a lifelong Chelsea fan giving you
my take on everything that happened.
Former Liverpool and Everton defender Gary Ablett (46) lost his 16 month battle with
Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma yesterday.
Ablett started his career with Liverpool playing over 100 games, winning two League title's
1987-88 and Liverpool's last title success in 1989-90, he also picked up an FA Cup winning medal in
1988-89 beating Everton 3-2 after extra-time.
To look closely at the associated regulations is to acknowledge the Football League's existing loan
system as nothing less than a free for all. ‘Temporary loan transfer' is the umbrella heading
which comprises the following three types of move permissible under the current system: •
‘Standard Loans' (half or full season in length and arranged during the two transfer windows);
• ‘Emergency Loans' (28-93 days in length and arranged both within the two transfer windows and
during fixed periods outside these dates); • ‘Youth Loans' (identical to ‘Emergency Loans'
but applies to scholars or new professionals on a work experience-type.
After similar pieces on League Two, League One and the Championship it seemed apt to do one on
the Premier League. The following tables show the Premier League table had the season stretched
from 1st January 2011 to 31st December 2011. The first table displays the seventeen teams who spent
the entirety of 2011 in the Premier League.
Jonjo Shelvey has spoken of his admiration for fellow central midfielder Jay Spearing and
commented: 'I look up to Jay'.
Liverpool's No.33 netted his first goal in a red shirt during the FA Cup 3rd round victory over
Oldham Athletic as he partnered Spearing at the heart of the Reds' midfield.

Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam insists the club remain in the hunt for a UEFA Champions League
spot despite dropping down to seventh in the Premier League.
The Reds were held to yet another home draw against Stoke last weekend, their seventh at Anfield so
far this season.
Those dropped points mean the club have fallen out of the European places and are five points
adrift of Chelsea in the final Champions League position.

So is this what FSG feared when appointing Dalglish? A manager that should be, hopefully, exempt
from criticism, but there has been so much to criticize in tactics, personnel, and transfer
dealings lately.
Blackpool goalkeeper Matt Gilks tasted Premier League football last season with the Tangerines and
now the shotstopper is looking for his side to make a swift return to the top flight.
The Seasiders sit just one point off the play-off places in the Championship table in seventh spot,
in what has once again been a very competitive league this term with any side capable of getting a
result in any game.
The draw for the FA Cup's fifth round was held earlier today. A reunion with Gus Poyet (via
Brighton) wasn't in the cards, with Chelsea being drawn against Birmingham.
Not bad. The Championship club will pose a threat, but not to the extent that traveling to
Anfield would have. Ties will be held 18/19 February.
After a two month hiatus, our Great Teams series is up and running again with this account of
Blackburn Rovers' return to the top echelon in 2001, a third Lancastrian study in a row after Fiona
Martin and myself considered matters Blackpool and Bolton in turn. You can follow Phil on twitter
here - and look out for further entries in the series throughout February.
My first visit to White Hart Lane came in February 2001. It was an FA Cup Fifth Round tie
against Stockport County. My uncle had driven up from Southampton on the morning of the game and
surprised me with a ticket.
I fell in love with the stadium and the atmosphere. I loved being part of the crowd and watching
Spurs easily dispose of the opposition as they won 4-0.
My friends and I often indulge in extended debate on the club vs. country issue and how so far,
it's ‘OK' to support England. We eschew the jingoism, the hooliganism, the sheer repugnance of
many of those called on to sport the jersey, the overreaction to defeat and over-anticipation of
victory, the arrogance and the aggression, but still wish for a team we can support.
In appreciation of the cat who made it onto the pitch at Anfield this evening I felt that it was
about time I drew up another "Best XI". This time it's for players with "cat" in their name.

Blackpool beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at Hillsborough in their FA Cup fourth replay round last
night, with Lomano Tresor LuaLua (yes, that Lomano Tresor LuaLua!) grabbing the goal of
the night the Seasiders' second with a superb curling effort from the apex of the area.
We have something a little different for you today on Twohundredpercent, as Paul Grech meets Ben
Perry Acton, a player that forsook the English game to pursue a career in Malta. In addition to
this, Ben had a grandfather whose name will be more than familiar to the supporters of Blackpool
and Bolton Wanderers Bill Perry, who scored the winning goal in The Matthews FA Cup Final match
between the two clubs in 1953.

Blackpool's reward for a scintillating 3-0 demolition of Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough is
a trip to Everton in the FA Cup fifth round.
The game was effectively won in the opening 15 minutes as Matt Phillips continued his red-hot
scoring streak with a precise finish and Lomana LuaLua curled in a superb effort soon after.
