Roy Keane: not a tolerant man
You won't be surprised to know that Roy Keane can't stomach footballers who wear snoods, gloves
and tights:
"Don't get me started. I don't know how they do it. It's very strange. Gloves, scarves, I think
somebody came on a few weeks ago for [Manchester] City who had a hat on.
For nearly 80 minutes last weekend, Blackpool thoroughly deserved to beat the Wanderers. The
last 10 to 15 minutes were when Bolton turned on the style. A great turn and half-volley from
Petrov pegged one back and then an absolutely wonderful team goal sealed the point. That team goal,
a move that involved Kevin Davies, Johan Elmander, Ivan Klasnic, and a neat little backheeled pass,
was the perfect metaphor for Bolton's season thus far.
There is no doubt the disruption caused by the recent snow and freezing weather has had a
negative impact on everyone within the world of football. Games are being postponed; players are
forced to train indoors; fans lucky enough to get to watch their team, do so shivering on the
terraces; and managers watch their foreign stars ponder a return to warmer climes.

The adverse reactions to Thursday's decisions by FIFA haven't lost any steam a day later, with
the chief of England's 2018 bid strongly speaking out against the world's governing body of
soccer.
Andy Anson expressed his opinions of FIFA's decision-making process, calling for reform in the
aftermath of England's first-round elimination in Thursday's vote during a press conference on
Friday.
The big freeze and the dismal failure of England's 2018 World Cup bid will not stop the Premier
League from rolling on. Its game week 16, time to forget the disappointment, put the heating on and
enjoy another weekend of Football.
Spurs enjoyed a much needed rest midweek and will be hoping to capitalise on any signs of a
Birmingham hangover following their Carling Cup exploits.

Didier Drogba has given Chelsea a 1-0 halftime lead over Everton, despite some strong defending
from the Toffees at Stamford Bridge. Phil Jagielka and Sylvain Distin played well for the first 45
minutes, but a lackadaisical Phil Neville back pass left Tim Howard stranded against the onrushing
Nicolas Anelka.

Four of the top five battle it out with each other this week while Man City travel to bottom of
the table West Ham. Arsenal could end gameweek 17 in fourth position, having started it Top of the
table. Chances are it will be as you were. It has been such an unpredictable season that this has
to be the weekend where the top five match each other and pick up a point a piece.
Blackpool have said that their Boxing Day fixture against Liverpool is in jeopardy from the
weather. Blackpool, the only Premier League club that does not have undersoil heating, have already
had two home games postponed this season and with a still frozen pitch, that number is likely to
increase to three.

January.
"We came here tonight really hoping that after not playing for a while we would get out and give
a great performance," he says.
"Might be nice if that mastery of the obvious extended to how you set out the side," I say.
"It was probably as bad a team performance as we've given, certainly here at Anfield, and to
compound the problems we gave them a goal as well, so we don't have a disappointing nil-nil, we
have an even more disappointing 0-1.

Steaua have been consistently inconsistent in recent months, as they have been unable to put
together a run long enough to have a significant impact on their campaign. Just as something
appears to be blooming, they have allowed themselves to be nipped in the bud.
Their last five games showcase the sort of inconsistency they have had, as a goalless draw against
local rivals Rapid Bucharest was followed by a domestic cup game against the same side, but away
from home.

Didier Drogba has said that he has now recovered fully from the malaria illness and is now fit and
raring to go. Drogba has not scored in the league since last scoring in the match against Arsenal.
It was obvious that he was clearly struggling the last few weeks, and whether it was due to the
illness or due to the obvious lack of form is the question that only Carlo Ancelotti can answer.
