Back again to give you Fantasy Premier League tips. Sorry for the lack of post in the last week, I
was sick and wasn't able to give my thoughts about that gameweek.
But as I said, now it's time to look at the gameweek 5.
Chelsea has been dominating in the first few rounds and as they now go against riser Blackpool on
their hometurf, it's very like Drogba, Anelka, Kalou, Essien and co keep on scoring goals and
collecting points.

It was quite an opening weekend for fantasy managers. Everyone's favorite projected trend - load
up on players playing against Blackpool, especially when 'pool are on the road - was about as big a
flop as something can be. Chris Kirkland owners are nodding their heads vigorously at this point
and joined to a lesser extent by those who bought in on Yayga, Boselli, N'Zogbia, Stam, and
Figueroa.
1. Penalties for Bent sportsmen were always likely to be high on the news agenda on Sunday after
the cricket revelations, but Manchester City probably didn't envisage it affecting them quite so
badly. 2. Talking of betting scandals, you would have put your house on Carlos Tevez scoring that
ridiculously straightforward sitter.
You could be excused for being a bit maddened by the fact that many sides this week, have a
massive amount of key players either injured of doubtful ahead of their respective Week 6 fixtures.
Arsenal and Manchester City are hurting the most, both figuratively and literaly. Here's a quick

"Quick, grab him!"
Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has conceded that he has almost no hope of
holding on to influential midfielder Charlie Adam come January, with an ongoing
legal dispute meaning that the Seasiders' captain may be able to walk out of the club on a free
transfer at the turn of the year.
Ian Holloway must be punished. Of that, there's no doubt. The Blackpool boss made ten changes in
Wednesday's 3-2 defeat against Aston Villa. Six of the starting 11 had not started a game this
season, two were starting their second games, and in total the 11 had 12 starts between them.
There are numerous parallels between this and the side put out by Wolves' manager Mick McCarthy
against Manchester United last season a move, lest we forget, that resulted in the club receiving a
suspended fine from the Premier League, after they deemed it to contravene their rule demanding
managers always field their strongest side.
For many die hard football fans Christmas can come a little late. Well...this is usually
the case for those teams struggling to realize their pre-season potential or for those who need a
few names to freshen up their squad...

However, for some, delving into the transfer market is a no-go.
Fox Soccer Channel today launched a beta version of FoxSoccer.tv, its broadband website, in time
for the 2010-11 Premier League season which begins Saturday, August 14.
The biggest change is that FoxSoccer.tv has switched broadband providers from RayV to Perform.
Perform's client list includes Virgin Media, Marca and Omnisport.

This is the first of two consecutive weeks in which we expect the rankings to go through some
massive changes. Don't be scared, it happens every year. After the completion of five match days in
each league, the previous season's numbers are dropped from the calculations. Recall, last week, we
saw the changes happen in Ligue Un.
IF and that is a big if, media reports are correct and Carlos Vela is not even in the
provisional squad for tomorrow nights Carling Cup tie against Newcastle then big questions must
start being asked over his Arsenal future.
Vela was not in the squad for the game against Shakhtar Donetsk and was again frozen out against
Man City at the weekend, he played for the reserves instead of the Donetsk tie but after playing
against Spurs in the last round of the Carling Cup it was expected that he would resume that role
tomorrow.
Phew!! Well what can I say? If it hadn't been for the antics of Nani and the reliable
consistency of Charlie Adam, last week's effort would have been disastrous. This could end up being
a cryptic tips column where doing the exact opposite will prove the most rewarding! I have always
been taught to hold your hands up and admit when you are wrong, well my arms are aching having been
raised apologetically all week.

Roy Keane: not a tolerant man
You won't be surprised to know that Roy Keane can't stomach footballers who wear snoods, gloves
and tights:
"Don't get me started. I don't know how they do it. It's very strange. Gloves, scarves, I think
somebody came on a few weeks ago for [Manchester] City who had a hat on.
For nearly 80 minutes last weekend, Blackpool thoroughly deserved to beat the Wanderers. The
last 10 to 15 minutes were when Bolton turned on the style. A great turn and half-volley from
Petrov pegged one back and then an absolutely wonderful team goal sealed the point. That team goal,
a move that involved Kevin Davies, Johan Elmander, Ivan Klasnic, and a neat little backheeled pass,
was the perfect metaphor for Bolton's season thus far.

Overall Outlook - It's no surprise that Blackpool's outlook is bleak. Dire, even. And the club
seems okay with that. They were promoted via a "magical" run into and through the play-offs, driven
by loanees who have not returned. Credit to them for knowing that they won't survive the year in
the Premier League and not spending money they don't have.
August 16th, 2010 1. Ian Holloway would like to be taken seriously. Sky and the BBC must have been
rubbing their hands together as the Ian Holloway led Blackpool had a dream start against Wigan.
Holloway has been known for many seasons as a wonderfully out there quote machine, but his post
match interview was somewhat morose [.
I'd say this is our first "must win" game of the season. I know it's a bit clichéd but playing
against a newly promoted team at home has to be a certain three pointer. Of course, there can be
episodes like the one with Hull a couple of seasons ago but I'll be really surprised if we perform
anywhere near as bad as we did that day.
The Game That was fantastic. According to one of our readers if Arsenal wanted to show they can be
title contenders they were supposed to win by at least a three goal margin today. And they ...
After a difficult opening day fixture this was exactly the kind of game that we needed. Six
goals, plenty of chances, everyone contributing, and big players easing back into action; what more
could you wish for?!
I don't think there is any point in analysing the game in detail. It was always going to be
tough for the visitors and the sending-off just killed it as a contest.
After a two-week break for Arsenal Station due to illness, I return to my blogging duties at the
best of times. After our satisfactory result/disappointing performance at Liverpool last weekend,
Arsenal needed to put in a quality performance. Of course, there are huge issues still surrounding
the squad, but a 6-nil victory, no matter the opposition, can only give the team confidence going
forward.
Hugo Rodallega needs to score even more goals to keep Wigan up.
While Chelsea managed continue their 100% start to the season, and Sunderland shocked Manchester
City, the performance of the weekend has to go Wigan Athletic who bounced back from a disastrous
opening two games to record a surprise win at Tottenham.
A look at the winners and losers in week three of the English Premier League.
Winners
Wigan Athletic
It had been a terrible start to the season for Roberto Martinez. Two hammerings and a trip to White
Hart Lane, scene of last years 9-1 thrashing. Not many Latics fans would have approached Saturday's
game with confidence, but Wigan put on their best away performance in years and thoroughly deserved
their 1-0 victory.
As seems to be par for the course, anytime midweek matches pop up, injury come with them. But
with only six of the Premier League's sides in action in the Champions League and Europa League,
the newly cropped up injuries are less frequent. Arsenal are still missing a small country's worth
of players ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge, while Manchester City have found that
throwing money at injured players does not make them healthier any quicker.

Very rarely can a Merseyside derby be described as a relegation six-pointer, but these are unusual
times at Anfield. When the international break disappears and Liverpool refocus on their trip to
Goodison Park on October 17, they will do so with a worm's eye view. Sunday's humiliating defeat to
Blackpool leaves them in 18th place after seven league games.
Ah, the undisputed League classic. Manchester United versus Arsenal the scrap between two of the
country's footballing heavyweights, a match never short of thrills, spills and clichés
galore. While admittedly things have changed and Arsenal are no longer the dominant force as once
before, the fixture is still regarded as special and it truly is an undying rivalry.
