Weekend Recap: MLS Cup Set

Looking back on this past weekend that was the conference finals I must say the result isn't as shocking as it initially was. The thought of a LA Galaxy-Real Salt Lake MLS Cup final was something no one would have called back in March, hell or even back at the beginning of this very month.

2 Blackouts. Stuttgart continued to show signs of life in their game against Sevilla and they continued to produce stupid defensive lapses, which continually cost them the games. Two such mistakes, coupled with the referee missing an offside position helped Sevilla to a comfortable 3-1 victory.

It seems that ever since FIFA decided that the 2010 World Cup was to be held in South Africa, they have worried about every possible problem. They have had to prepare a back-up plans for everything, from stadium construction to hotel accommodation and now even electrical consumption.

FSN TV Schedule For Champions League And EPL Games Revealed

We first encountered this sad saga a year and a half ago when veteran BigSoccer maven Matrim55 POSTED THIS PIECE about the rape prosecution of former UCSB midfielder and 2007 Kansas City draftee Eric Frimpong, a native of Ghana.
The alledged victim, known only as Jane Doe, was a freshman at UC Santa Barbara in 2006 when the Gauchos won the NCAA Championship due in large part to Frimpong's contributions. Click to continue reading...

Red Bulls vs. Columbus Crew to go on as scheduled

The New York Red Bulls match vs. the Columbus Crew on Thursday night will go on as scheduled, Red Bulls and league sources told SBI on Tuesday night.

There was some concern about whether the game would be played because of major blackouts and a state of emergency in Ohio after the state was battered by the remnants of Hurricane Ike.
