The transfer market continues to be busy with several teams adding and selling players ahead of this fall. English club Arsenal have signed Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax while Valencia have stated David Villa is not for sale. Here's the recap of the latest transfer news in European soccer.

AC Milan looking at Adebayor - "AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has revealed he has talked to Arsenal about the possibility of signing Emmanuel Adebayor.

Speculation about the future of USA International and Major League Soccer rising star Stuart Holden continues. He's been offered a new contract by the Houston Dynamo as his contract ends on December 31st. There has been interest from Rangers and Aberdeen in the Scottish Premier League, but English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers is reported to have a four year offer for Holden.

The English Carling Cup began its second round of play on Tuesday August 25, 2009 with several matches. The story taking center stage was violence breaking out between Millwall and West Ham United outside Upton Park. One fan was stabbed but is in stable condition and there appear to be no other serious injuries.

The winter transfer window is only a few weeks from opening and rumors continue to swirl about various players. In Major League Soccer, there are several players who are attracting interest from the top European leagues. One of these is American International and Houston Dynamo player Stuart Holden.
