8 days and counting until the new season of Fantasy Premier League is upon us. So it's good time
look at the trends people have set while choosing their teams. It is a well known fact that usually
you do need to have players in your team that have a high "Teams selected by %", because they
usually do pretty good.
The revised fixture list for gameweek 22 has been posted to the Fantasy Premier League website, and
there are double gameweeks a plenty. Liverpool, Tottenham, Bolton and Arsenal have now joined
Manchester United and Hull City with two games in this round. Potentially this could be the biggest
points round of the season.
The post for most readers is at best fashionably late, but as we await the thaw of the permafrost
in England, and as such await the re-arranged Carling Cup Semifinals, featuring American goalkeeper
Brad Guzan against Blackburn Rovers, a side so... Read more

£50 million dump. Here's the round up...
Rumour No. 1: Manchester City are preparing to jettison £50 million worth of
players in the summer as manager Roberto Mancini begins a total rebuild of his squad.
Emmanuel Adebayor, Wayne Bridge, Shaun
Wright-Phillips and Stephen Ireland will all face the boot at Eastlands,
and the Italian boss is planning to kick start his overhaul with a £50 million bid for Liverpool
striker Fernando Torres.
Clint Dempsey is a really good footballer. He contributes goals from midfield, defends well,
works hard, and is a threat from set pieces. He can also deliver the unexpected, although he
attempts the unexpected so often that eventually the unexpected is only unexpected in its success.
From his position on the left he works well with Paul Konchesky, Zoltan Gera and Bobby Zamora,
and is a real asset to the team.
The January 2010 transfer window is now closed in England. It was a much quieter window than in
January of 2009, when Premier League teams spent a record £178 MILLION in that transfer window. We
will continually update this as the last transfers get processed by the Premier League.
Updated Feb 1st.
This gameweek it is doubletime for Manchester City, Stoke, Bolton and Wigan in Barclays Premier
League. And out of those four it's Manchester City who has the easiest feast. Bolton at home and
Stoke away. Emmanuel Adebayor is back from the ill-fated trip to African Cup and has scored in last
2 matches.
Just what we need to hear from one of Arsenal fans favourites. Robin says it's time to get
tough and get in the faces of the opposition. We need to do unto others what they so love to do to
us. Play the pretty football, yes, but when the chips are down, put the pretty stuff on the back
burner and start showing some grit and steel.
Mr Angry gets angry again With Joey Barton being touted for an England call-up in some circles he
clearly decided that meant he hadn't pressed the self-destruct button enough of late. The Newcastle
midfielder punched Blackburn's Morten Gamst Pedersen in the chest after the most minor of shoulder
brushes between the pair.
By now we've all all read and heard about the decision that Houston Dynamo attacking midfielder
Stuart Holden has to make: Should he sign a new contract with the MLS and stay in Houston on a much
better one then he has had the last few seasons, or taking the next step to get to the promised
land of where the world's best compete on a weekly basis?
With Manchester United ascending to the top of the English Premier League table following last
weekend's 7-1 dismantling of Blackburn Rovers, the battle of 2010/11 league title may be one of the
most exciting in years with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City also in the mix. Now ESPN's
December 2010 English Premier League schedule for the [.
The 6 years spent at Old Trafford and the £80 million pocketed by Manchester United for his
transfer to Real Madrid may never have happened had destiny played a different hand for Cristiano
Ronaldo...

For the past several years in the United States, the majority of soccer fans who were watching
Premier League matches saw — for the most part — the same games. The vast majority of us
watched the Saturday 10am ET game on Fox Soccer Channel, as well as the 12:30pm ET one and the
match of the week on Sunday at 11am ET.
Miffed over an article published in the Boston Globe last month that seemingly blamed their club's
supporters for inciting many of the violent incidents between their side and fans of Old Firm
rivals Celtic, Rangers FC has reportedly decided to pull out of a scheduled summer tour of the
United States.

Those perfectly decent English players who, for whatever reason, won't be going to South Africa,
can at least take comfort in the fact they have been selected for this 'Not Going To The World Cup'
XI (that's tongue in cheek, for any Liverpool fans who might reading this).

Here's what may prove to be both the first and last round up this week...
Rumour No. 1: Real Madrid have told Liverpool that they are unwilling to meet
their £30 million valuation of Steven Gerrard, with the La Liga giants only
willing to go as high as £20 million for the 30-year-old England midfielder.
Cash-strapped, poverty-stricken Real Madrid (yes, the very same side that spent over £200
million pounds on transfer fees last summer) have apparently baulked at the exorbitant price tag
Liverpool have slapped on Steven Gerrard's head and requested that they be allowed
to pinch the influential midfielder on the cheap the cheeky sods!
Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce has responded to claims that the Rovers could sign David
Beckham. The rumors were started by Blackburn's potential new owner, Ahsan Ali Syed, who claimed
that he'd inject millions of pounds into the club and bring in a big name such as Beckham.
"Mr Syed says that he would like to spend it on youth, and then that he would like to sign David
Beckham," said Allardyce.

News today that three Premier League clubs have been contacted to see if they are interested in
taking Barcelona's 19 year old defensive midfielder Oriol Romeu on loan. The clubs contacted are
said to be Newcastle United (of course), Everton and Blackburn Rovers, and the news is being
broadcast by Spanish station Com Radio.
Here are the highlights from the Aston Villa's 5-1 win over Blackburn Rovers in the 3rd round of
the F.A. Cup. Brad Guzan played and saved a penalty, which you can watch on the highlights
below.
U.S. Men's National Team midfielder Clint Dempsey will not require surgery on
an injured knee, according to a statement from Fulham Football Club following an MRI evaluation.
Dempsey suffered moderate damage to a ligament in his right knee during Fulham's 2-0 loss on Jan.

Manchester United forked out £30m for Dimitar Berbatov after Daniel Levy stuck to the asking
price we didn't want to pay. The downside for us was we had to pay over the odds for a player Sir
Alex Ferguson really wanted, whilst Tottenham had a load of money in the bank but couldn't do
anything with it given the deal was concluded at midnight on the transfer deadline day.
The Game Will this nightmare ever end? It is amazing how when the going got tougher, this Arsenal

For many die hard football fans Christmas can come a little late. Well...this is usually
the case for those teams struggling to realize their pre-season potential or for those who need a
few names to freshen up their squad...
Spurs lead the race for Beckham...
However, for some, delving into the transfer market is a no-go.
If you plan on kidnapping any WAGS, I'm gonna have to go ahead and warn against it. Not just for
the moral and legal problems such an activity would present, but also because now they have this
panic alarm disguised as an iPod that sounds like it would thoroughly ruin any WAG-napping
plans.
Fat headed Sam Allardyce claimed the Anfield crowd influenced decisions from the ref in the tie
between Liverpool and Blackburn at the weekend; yet he clearly forgot to mention this shove from
Nzonzi. This should have been a straight red; yet he remained on the pitch; although fat Sam still
come out with this gem: They [.

A second half goal by Ireland striker Daniel Kearns at Tolka Park on Thursday night made it
two wins from this week's double-header friendly against Poland.
Belfast born Kearns marked his first start for Ireland with a goal which gave his side a 1-0
victory in the U-19 international.
It was obvious. As soon as the camera zoomed in on Wayne Rooney's face at the end of the match
in the Allianz Arena, United fans knew their team would win neither the Premier nor Champions
League. The ‘positive' prognosis the next day offered little comfort. The margin between success
and failure for United in the 2009/10 season was four days wide.
It feels like an eternity since the last Arsenal game. The forgettable affair of the first goalless
draw at the Grove last weekend seemed like ages ago. A week ago and not much has changed. Ewood
Park is the next scene for Arsenal as Wenger's boys look to finally confirm 3rd spot. A point would

Fox Soccer Channel today launched a beta version of FoxSoccer.tv, its broadband website, in time
for the 2010-11 Premier League season which begins Saturday, August 14.
The biggest change is that FoxSoccer.tv has switched broadband providers from RayV to Perform.
Perform's client list includes Virgin Media, Marca and Omnisport.
When Andrey Arshavin slid home from an angle to give Arsenal a 2-1 lead seven minutes into the
second half of their clash against Blackburn Rovers, the game was still very much alive.
After all, their hosts had been resilient throughout the afternoon in front of a very hopeful
crowd at Ewood Park.
