Well this year has come to another end (well football year any way) and yet again Arsenal have
to dust down the Emirates trophy cabinet with nothing in it. Finally Arsene Wenger has admitted,
after two very embarassing defeats to Chelsea and Man Utd that we need to and will sign some
players throughout the summer.
The summer transfer window doesn't actually open for another two months, but with seasons coming
to a close in Europe's major leagues, the transfer rumors are already flying in full force.
Here's a look at the latest transfer rumours and gossip from England to Holland to Italy to
Spain in the return of our daily transfer roundup column.

There's no new Kaka news to report on, and there shouldn't be for another
couple of days, but that doesn't mean that there's nothing else going on in the world of
transfers.
Who's in the transfer news headlines today? As always, the lion's share of the tidbits are from
England, but we've also got news and rumors to report on from Spain, Italy, Germany, and
Greece.
Every year Premiership managers conspire to spend millions of pounds on exotic sounding foreign
players whose names have never graced the screens of an English TV. Last year it was Marouane
Fellaini, a £15 million signing for Everton. And what's more, his tough tackling, willingness to
play ludicrously out of position, and even more ludicrous haircut have made the Premiership a
better place over the last twelve months.
Blackburn star parks his truck where he likes El-Hadji Diouf enjoyed his lunch at a Manchester
restaurant and also took advantage of convenient parking facilities by ditching his gold-plated gas
guzzler in a loading only bay. But the Blackburn forward avoid a parking ticket (presumably because
the vehicle is so inconspicuous that the traffic wardens missed [.
The transfer news and rumors aren't as plentiful tonight as they were in the morning, but
sometimes, it's about quality, not quantity, and in tonight's roundup, we've got a couple of
big-money (well, small, if you're Real Madrid) signings to report and add to our summer transfer
lists.
The headline takes away the element of surprise, of course, but those moves aren't the only bits
in the news.
Is it safe to say that striker receives more time in the transfer gossip pages from January to
December than any other position? Several well-known strikers are in today's transfer news and
rumors, but the goal-getters aren't the only men in the summer shop window. In today's roundup,
we've got tidbits from several of Europe's top leagues, with several big names being linked with
big clubs.
Gameweek 17 is fast approaching, and for the unprepared may cause something of an issue as four
teams do not play. And as the four teams represent some of the more popular value players, there is
a risk your team may contain several players who earn no points that week. Now is the time to make
some strategic use of transfers to plan ahead.
Several of England and Europe's top clubs already being proactive with their summer transfer
plans. Who's making bids and trying to seal a few deals before the window officially opens?
Liverpool Make £15m Bid for Valencia's Silva
Liverpool have made a take-it-or-leave-it offer of £15m to Valencia for winger David
Silva.
A new day, a fresh batch of transfer gossip to deliver your way. It's nice to be able to have
new signings to report on and add to our summer transfers lists, because hey, who doesn't like
being kept busy? Ah, don't answer that...
Speaking of busy, with the speculation that we've seen this week from here, there, and
everywhere, things are going to pick up even more soon, so that means you should be watching this
space daily.
The Chicago Fire are pursuing a former Liverpool star.
Globoesporte.com are saying that Corinthians Ronaldo turned down official offers from Premier
League clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Blackburn Rovers. While the article gives no details of the
offers, it does state that the forward has no interest in returning to Europe as he wants to stay
with Corinthians for next year's Libertadores campaign.
We're already halfway through the January transfer window, and while there has been more
speculation than signings thus far, that could be set to change in the next week. As you would
expect, we have the latest on Manchester City's attempts to sign Kaka, but he's not the only player
they're after, and there [.
Much of the focus in the football world today is on the massive UEFA Champions League final
showdown between Manchester United and Barcelona (which you can follow live on SL), and rightfully
so. And in case you haven't seen it yet, check out Soccerlens' exclusive interview
with Lionel Messi (yes, the one and only).
After a pretty active start to the week, the transfer news and rumors have subsided quite a bit
over the last couple of days.
However, we've got a solid compilation of transfer news and rumors from England and Italy to
tide you over until tomorrow.

Trezeguet Garnering English Interest
David Trezeguet could be set to leave Juventus this summer, and according to
his father/agent, is receiving interest from ‘everyone' in England, along with Lyon and
Barcelona.
Following the release of the Blackburn Rovers 2009/10 Umbro away kit, there is now a
credible-looking leak of the English Premier League club's 09/10 home kit making the rounds in
cyberspace. The basic of the new kit design follows Blackburn's classic blue and white look. The
Umbro template used for the kit appears to be the [.
Finally, the transfer deals are starting to come through in bunches. Am I just getting my hopes up
that I'll have a lot more of these to talk about over the rest of the window, or is this is a sign
of things to come? England Could Andrei Arshavin buy out his contract to make his [...]
Andrey Arshavin has revealed how his foot looks like it was cut by 'a knife' in a tackle by
Blackburn's Andre Ooijer. The blow took the gloss off his debut goal for Arsenal in their 4-0
Barclays Premier League win on Saturday. Arshavin is now likely to miss Tuesday's FA Cup clash with
Hull after requiring [.
Sunday may have been a rest day for many, but in case you didn't know already, there's never a
break when it comes to transfer news and rumors, especially in the summer.
While there was plenty of intriguing transfer speculation making the rounds on Sunday (and not
just in England), a couple of new signings also went through, and you can find those new moves in
our updated summer transfer lists.
More football-themed Wikipedia fun Egged on by those naughty boys at the back of the class from The
Fiver, an internet scally has used Wikipedia to strike the fear of God into Matt Derbyshire. If the
Olympiacos-bound striker chooses to do a bit of internet research on his new club, he will find
that the Rivalries [.
It's quite rare to find myself defending Rafa Benitez in any respect, but I think the recent
comments by Sam Allardyce are more than ridiculous. After Liverpool's second goal in a 4-0 romp
of his team, the Blackburn manager claims Benitez showed a "lack of respect" for failing to meet
for the traditional post-game drink.
The summer transfer window hasn't even opened yet, but a couple of big names from Europe's top
leagues are already on the move to new destinations, and a few others could soon have new
addresses. Who are those players, and where are they going? We've got all of that and more in
today's transfer news roundup, which includes news and rumors from England, Spain, Italy, Germany,
and even Turkey.
Behind the likes of Tottenham, Manchester City and Aston Villa in the league and as things stand
not even qualifying for the Europa League through their league position, Liverpool are in a bit of
mess.
But does that make it OK for Stevie G to dive?

Resident sooth-sayer Madam George with tomorrow's results today... sort of.
Here's a teaser for the Blackburn Rovers Umbro 2009/10 away kit. The Blackburn website states that
it will show parts of the new away football kit on a daily basis. This is the latest photo /
drawing hybrid shown on the site. Blackburn's 2009/10 kits will again be made by Umbro and
sponsored by Crown Paints.
Yesterday saw Arsenal take the first step in challenging for the title this season, you want to
know why? We have games against Fulham, Blackburn, Birmingham, Tottenham, West Ham, Wolves and
Sunderland before our next top four clash, if we get 15 points out of those games we will be around
the top of the table, [.
The week has come and gone, and while we haven't seen a great number of deals in the Premier League
as of yet, that should be changing in the coming days, as you'll see in today's roundup. England
With things currently at a stalemate between Blackburn and Manchester City over Roque Santa Cruz,
City are [.
Make that dive of the season This is probably painful viewing for Blackburn fans, but it is
hilarious for the rest of us. Morten Gamst Pedersen tries to cheat his way to being awarded a
penalty against Arsenal on Saturday, but it is safe to say that an acting career probably
doesn#8217;t await when he hangs [.
Every transfer window, there are at least a few moves that completely catch you by surprise,
which is surprising in itself, considering that there are so many deals that are public news well
before they're actually completed.
We've got a few of those tidbits in this morning's roundup, and we've also got several new
signings to report and to add to the summer transfer lists.
On the back of Tottenham's 9-1 trousering of Wigan, Jermain Defoe's 25 point, 5 goal haul means his
price is set to skyrocket over the next week or two. The unwashed masses believe any player earning
a double-figure points total one week guarantees the same result the following week, and Defoe will
be transferred in so many times before the next gameweek that his price should spike by £0.
Today's actually a pretty quiet day in transfer news and rumors, though you could imagine a lot of
clubs are quietly attempting to make deals happen as we move another day closer to the end of the
January transfer window. England Manchester United are pondering a bid for veteran Roma defender
Christian Panucci, who wants [.
It looked like it was going to be easy breezy for Emmanuel Adebayor's move from
Arsenal to Manchester City, but alas, a smooth, quick resolution does not appear to be in the
offing, for one reason or another.
It might take a little longer than expected to add him to our summer transfer lists, but it does
look like another transfer gossip favorite will be on the move soon, with Stewart
Downing finally set to end his time at Middlesbrough in favor of a quick return to the
Premier League and a taste of Europe.
We're into the final week of the January transfer window, and there are several signings to report
on today. Nothing big, but the least attention-grabbing ones can have the biggest impact down the
line (see Zaki, Amr). And since I'm in such a giving mood today, there's a big ol' batch of spec
[...
I think we can all safely agree that the transfer window is one of the real absurdities of modern
football. Sure, the big man upstairs did a lot of us a favour today by bringing in the heaviest
snowfall for 18 years, and we were able to sit in and savour the deadline day soap [...]
Sam Allardyce has launched a scathing attack on Rafa Benitez in the wake of Blackburn's 4-0 defeat
by Liverpool at Anfield last Saturday.
Allardyce has accused the Spaniard of being 'disrespectful' and 'humiliating' over gestures he made
on the touchline after Fernando Torres had headed the home side into a two-goal lead before the
interval.
Another day, another several notable names linked with moves as the start of the summer transfer
window edges closer by the day. Which rumors are worth buying, and which would should you throw out
with the weekend trash?

Liverpool's Alonso a Manchester City Target?
Manchester City are set to make a bid for Liverpool's Xabi Alonso, which could

has been unveiled courtesy of expert modeling by defender Neil Warnock! The new kit will see the

and socks.
Who's being linked with moves in today's transfer gossip pages? In today's transfer news and

Wednesday hump.

Manchester City Deny Messi Move
Manchester City are denying that they've made an approach for Barcelona star Lionel
Messi, after reports that City had offered 150m to buy out the remainder of Messi's
contract.
The summer transfer window has only been open for a day, and we've already got our first big
signing in the Premier League, as Gareth Barry is making the move from the
Midlands to Manchester in a £12m move to Manchester City.
Barry may be the only notable signing of the day, but he's not the only notable name making
headlines today.
