The days are counting down, down, down to the end of 2008. Christmas is next week, and right after
that, we'll be saying goodbye to this year and hello to a new one - and the January transfer
window. Many clubs have wishes for the new year that won't be granted, but who [...]
Well it's that time of year again as the January transfer window is about to open and not even a
global financial crisis has prevented the Premier League's transfer rumour mill going into
overdrive as what all the comings and going could be in the next few months. But despite the
whirlwind of rumours, the harsh [.
It would be going a bit far to say that Manchester City are interested in every well-known player
in Europe, but it certainly does feel like it these days, doesn't it? Subhankar and Victor both
mentioned City in their transfer coverage today, and my roundup is dominated by City. And if you're
getting tired [.
Today's Transfer Rumor Roundup focuses on two Premiership clubs that promise to spend big, as well
as a third that could join them. We'll also take a look at one player who went from franchise
cornerstone to someone who could leave in January, as well as Tottenham's continued quest for a new
goalkeeper.
With twenty games already played the 2008/2009 English Premier League season is now just over the
halfway point. Despite over 50% of the campaign elapsing however it has barely even begun. As Paul
Wilson rightly pointed out in an article over at the Guardian, 'nobody is setting a title-winning
pace at the top, nobody is looking a relegation certainty at the bottom.
We're at the end of another week, which means we're all the more closer to the end of the year and
the start of a new year and the winter transfer window. What players are in the news today? I've
got a sextet of rumors for you to feast on, so let's get started, [...]
2008 has been a remarkable season for English football. Richest league (and club) world. Best
player in the world. An all-English Champions League final. English World Champions. England
topping their World Cup qualifying group. English clubs being the most feared in Europe, even if
(as in Arsenal's case) they can't defend a throw-in to safe [.

So it's been going for ages, Man Utd's Tevez saga has gone on almost as long as West Ham's saga
with the same little man. Everyone has been speaking this last month and a bit about whether Utd
will decide to buy him, if he is worth €30M and in fact does he even want to stay at Utd
given the amount of benchwarming he's done as of late?
Cough please, Mr Giggs When you have played football for as long as Ryan Giggs, you are bound to
have a closer relationship with the match officials than some of the new kids on the block. That's
why referees such as Alan Wiley often take the opportunity to touch Giggs up during the middle of a

A little under 32 hours remain until the transfer window finally opens once again in World
Football and the merry go round of mad money begins once again. I've seen several people claim that
due to the economic climate, it's probably going to be a quiet window with little money changing
hands, but don't bet [.
According to reports, Blackburn could help shore up their back line in January by making a move for
former Liverpool and Fulham right back Steve Finnan. Defense is one of several areas that Blackburn
must address in January, as they've allowed a league-worst 28 goals in 16 league matches. Rovers
have already been [.
Pulsating match, eight goals - what more could you want? Just watch and enjoy and wonder how - of
all the matches so far this season - Blackburn fans thought this was the most appropriate game to
call for Paul Ince's head. It could easily have been 4-4. United's sublime passing move for their
fourth and Carlos [.
Blackburn Rovers are struggling in the Premier League at the moment and it appears that they are
set to struggle more, especially as top players have started voicing their disinclination to carry
on playing for the club anymore. Star striker Roque Santa Cruz has released a come-and-get me plea
as he seems quite eager to move [.
Earlier last week, I wrote how on paper the Premier League weekend fixtures seemed boring other
than the Arsenal against Liverpool match-up. Boy, was I wrong. To me, this was one of the most
entertaining weekends of the season. Here are the matches I caught this weekend and my thoughts on
them: The first half and [.
Believe it or not, today's roundup is without a Manchester City-related tidbit. That must mean it's
a quiet day, right? I don't have any monster rumors to report on, but there are several interesting
morsels to chew on. Chelsea Loan Deal for Brazilian Striker? Chelsea could be looking to swing a
bargain deal in [.
Former Sunderland manager Roy Keane has expressed an interest in returning to football management
sometime in the near future, but which club do you predict he'll most likely end up at next? Vote
now. <a href="http://answers.polldaddy.com/poll/1181843/" >Which Club Will Roy

It's a lot more exciting on my end when there's plenty to report to you from the transfer gossip
pages, and that's the case today. Let's get on with it, shall we? Manchester City to Make 50m
Torres Bid? Regardless of the fact that Liverpool don't want to sell Fernando Torres no matter what
is thrown [.
Who will follow next in the footsteps of Kevin Keegan, Juande Ramos and Roy Keane this season? Off
hand, I can think of a few candidates, namely Scolari, Mark Hughes and Paul Ince whose services
could soon be dispensable. Scolari's position in Chelsea is increasingly shaky. His attacking
style resulted in a vulnerable Chelsea at Stamford [.
New Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce will have £10m to spend on new signings in January in
order to strengthen the squad for a second-half survival push. Considering that there are multiple
needs to be filled with that money, Allardyce will be hoping to get as much immediate value out of
that £10m as possible, [.
Part two of Sunday's match previews.
Last night there were two shocks in the Carling Cup, one bigger than the other. Burnley had already
knocked Chelsea out of the Cup and last night they knocked Arsenal out. Derby also knocked out a...

A Few Points to Ponder Prior to Kickoff
I don't entirely know what to expect from this Blackburn squad.
A few weeks ago, I reported on a tidbit from The Guardian about Roque Santa Cruz being unhappy
about Blackburn's struggles and wanting to move to Manchester City to reunite with Mark Hughes. Now
it appears that Santa Cruz is going to do what he must to get what he wants, as the Paraguayan

United 2 – Blackburn 1 (McCarthy)
United 3 – Blackburn 1 (Tevez – Penalty)
United 4 – Blackburn 1 (Tevez)
United 4 – Blackburn 2 (Derbyshire)
United 4 – Blackburn 3 (McCarthy)
United 5 – Blackburn 3 (Tevez)
Not entirely sure how I feel about us letting Blackburn back into it in the final minutes.
Normal service was resumed by the top four clubs this weekend as they all earned maximum 3 points,
although Man Utd did leave it very late against a battling and managerless Sunderland (more later).
We start off this weekend's action at the Emirates where Emmanuel Adebayor's early first-half
strike handed, what has to be said, a [.
Theres no shortage of managers who find themselves under an increasing amount of pressure in the
buildup to Christmas, and with yet more poor results at the weekend we've made up our own shortlist
of managers who may find themselves without a club very soon... Paul Ince, Blackburn. Mark Hughes,
Man City.
Rarely a day goes by when you don't get to hear Premier League cash-packed Manchester City being
not linked with a new footballer. Today it has been reported that the Eastlands club are eager to
land the England international winger David Bentley from Tottenham Hotspur next month. The link
arises due to the fact that Man City [.
The beleaguered Blackburn boss writes to Saint Nick Dear Santa, This year I would like: - My job
(or a new job if you can't manage that. I know it's a lot to ask for) - A midfielder who is young
enough not to be touted as my replacement - A bodyguard to protect me from the bad people who [...]
Paul Ince has been sacked as manager of Blackburn Rovers. It's not much of a surprise, especially
after their convincing loss away to Wigan on Saturday, but they need to move quickly to replace
Ince. Blackburn face Stoke on Saturday in a must-win relegation battle. I believe the perfect
replacement for Paul Ince is Roy Keane.
Paul Ince, the first black manager in the Premier League was sacked after managing only three
wins in 17 games. Blackburm Rovers in now second bottom of the Premier League and facing a
relegation battle.
After ex-Manchester United, Roy Keane walked out from Sunderland and now Ince sacked, the
pressure is now on another ex-Red Devils, Mark Hughes who is facing a similar test at Manchester
City.
First things first, I take no pleasure in Paul Ince losing his job. The Governer is literally one
of my heroes from his Wolves and England days (which were sadly separate eras, but still...). The
first black captain of England and the first black British Premier League manager. And if you're an
England fan than [.

Some news to read as you check out beach babes playing soccer in an otherwise less-than-memorable

Who the hell is Ricky Sbragia? Crazy name, great manager apparently. I ask the question because, as
a Spurs fan, I'm not happy. A couple of weeks ago we were flying up the table like a Christmas
angel on eggnog and now this Sbragia fella turns up and Sunderland have leapfrogged us. The problem
is, what with [.
Both The Sun and Goal.com are reporting that Paul Scholes will make his triumphant return in
tonight's match against Blackburn. According to sources, "He has been back on the training
ground for two weeks and could be in the line-up come kick off time against Blackburn Rovers in
tonight's Carling Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford.
There was one stand out performance last night and that was Carlos Tevez who was fantastic. Many
United fans feel that Tevez should start more games and he showed exactly why he should be
