As the New England Revolution's search for quality and stability at striker continues, a
significant horse in this offseason's race has bowed out of the running. Reports in Denmark have
surfaced and indicate that Rajko Lekic has agreed to terms with relegation-threatened Superliga
side Lyngby BK. Apparently he's being hailed as a "savior" and saddled with the expectation of
bringing the club out of the basement.
New Year's in NYC x AFR
No, the whole AFR Team didn't come together to take over the Big Apple. Now that would be
writing a few thousand words about. But my brother and I, alongside a couple of friends, did enjoy
a few festivities and quite a bit of footy.
The Montreal Impact continued to shape their roster on Monday, signing a player who is no
stranger to the club.
The Impact signed Canadian international Patrice Bernier, a 32-year-old midfielder who
previously played for the club from 2000-2002. Bernier, who was born in Quebec and resides in
Montreal, will vie for a starting spot on the team.
Conor O'Brien will hope to be on the field for SonderjyskE in their Cup game against minnows Naesby
BK while Michael Parkhurst and Nordsjaelland face a tough test against league leaders Copenhagen.
Disney today announced the other teams and the format for the Disney Pro Soccer Classic this coming

Vancouver Whitecaps, Montreal Impact, Toronto FC, FC Dallas, and BK Hacken out of Sweden.

Almost assured of being relegated at the conclusion of this season, Ryan Miller and Halmstadts BK
went down hard to Malmo FF in midweek Allsvenskan action.
Brad Rusin returns from suspension for Koge's battle with still-undefeated Aalborg BK and Chris
Rolfe, while Michael Parkhurst and Nordsjaelland will try to wipe their Europa League tears on
lowly Lyngby.
The Football Gods smiled on Spanish Football Club VILLAREAL in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE pre-qualifier
match-ups drawn today at UEFA headquaters. The Spanish Club could have landed powerful Clubs like
Ruben Kazan, Udinese, Arsenal etc , but was drawn with relatively less powerful ( but no less
dangerous ) ODENSE BK from Denmark The 1º leg match will be in Denmark on the 17th of August, with

We had our suspicions that we would be seeing more of Utsiktens BK player Anton Hysen. For
those who have not been paying attention, Hysen was the subject of a media frenzy a few months ago
when he came out as gay during an interview with Offside magazine and simultaneously ingratiated
himself with the laydeez by being incredibly darn cute.
A footballer came out of the closet last weekend. Anton Hysén, as you will likely have read
over the last few days, gave an interview with the Swedish football magazine Offside in which he
confirmed his sexuality. Hysen plays for Utsiktens BK in the fourth tier of the Swedish league
system (which, in a manner similarly confusing to that in England, is called Division Two) and, if
this were any other matter, the biggest aspect of any story concerning Anton Hysén would be that
his father is Glenn Hysén, the former Liverpool defender and captain of Sweden (who, for the
record, has already expressed his support for his son publically).
Oops... I think our "photo editor" has made an error or has developed a slight hearing problem (or
is a smartass, which come to think of it, seems much more likely).Nevertheless, Aalborg BK's Chris
Rolfe slipped me a note to inform that he is back from his long and frustrating hamstring injury
layoff, and in the squad that will host runaway league leaders FC Copenhagen this evening.
After spending most of last season as a backup, Steve Clark will start the 2011 Norwegian season as
the number one goalkeeper at 1. Division club Honefoss BK.
Anel Raskaj is the next Zidane, atleast that is what former Halmstad BK manager Janne Andersson
believes. Anderson claims that Raskaj is even better than Halmstad greats Fredrik Ljungberg and
Niclas Alexandersson. Raskaj was born on August 19, 1989 in Prizren, then a part of Yugoslavia. He
started his career with KF Liria.
Midfielders JC Banks (Milwaukee Riverside/UW-Green Bay) and David
Prochazka (UW-Green Bay) won't be offered contracts by BK Häcken, the Swedish club
announced Monday.
The former Phoenix standouts had been on trial with the top-level Allsvenskan club in Gothenburg
for the past three weeks.
JC Banks (Milwaukee Riverside/UW-Green Bay), who is on trial with Swedish club
BK Häcken in Gothenburg, told a local newspaper that he would rather play in Sweden's top league
than in Major League Soccer.
He was selected by Toronto FC in the first round of the MLS Supplemental Draft last month, and
had trials with three other clubs in Sweden in December.
JC Banks (Milwaukee Riverside/UW-Green Bay) continues to impress in his latest
trial in Sweden, this one at top-division club BK Häcken.
Banks played the full 90 minutes and scored the final goal as Häcken beat Norwegian side
Sörlandslaget 3-1 on Friday at the Color Line Cup, an indoor preseason tournament in Kristiansand,
Norway.
KRISTIANSTAD, Sweden Brawling parents at a youth soccer tournament in Sweden had to be separated by
police as several players looked on in tears, Swedish news website The Local reported Tuesday.
Fighting broke out in the stands during a semifinal match of the Alliansen indoor soccer tournament
at which 12-year-old boys were competing.
