As clear as night follows day, summer follows spring, and Phil Brown is a self promoting moron,
Arsenal will get themselves in an almighty pickle with injuries long before the Christmas
break.
The tradition has been continuing for many a long year, and with the news now of another injury
to a reserve left back, Arsene Wenger is going to have to shuffle the pack again to get a team out
at Sunderland capable of getting a result.

Well, that's it. The transfer window has come and gone, not with a bang but a whimper. No
signings, no sales, no loans to report on the last day. For better or for worse, this is our squad
until January.
To review, we sold or released three players over the summer Amaury Bischoff, Kolo Toure, and
Emmanuel Adebayor.

Preview week continues, and today we get to what the season will bring for our beloved Arsenal.
Today we deal with questions about Arsenal's summer activities. As always, we're interested to hear
what you think, so drop us a line in the comments.
Question 7: If You Had to Give Arsenal's Offseason a Grade, What Would it
Be?

Soon the news will confirm that Adebayor is a <?xml:namespace prefix = st1> ManchesterCity
player, the fee rumoured to be between 22 and 25 million pounds, a salary estimated £150 thousand
pounds a week. I have been no supporter of Adebayor, as people who regular read this blog will
appreciate.

Several respected European teams are vying for Amaury Bischoff's signature — just a fortnight
after the midfielder was released by Arsenal. Portuguese winger Bischoff joined the Gunners' from
Werder Bremen last summer with Arsene Wenger labelling the signing as a 'gamble' due to his
previous poor injury record.

According to Robert Tanner at the Sunday Mercury, Birmingham are set to battle
with Celtic for free agent and former Arsenal midfielder
Amaury Bischoff.
Birmingham are also thought to be interested in defender Solvi Ottesen but a
midfielder might be more of a priority.

According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal midfielder Amaury
Bischoff was one of eight players not to receive a new contract. The other seven are:
James Dunne, Rui Fonte, Rene Steer, Vincent van den Berg, Anton
Blackwood, Abu Ogogo, and Paul Rodgers.

One player who will not be arriving at The Emirates this summer is Felipe Melo. Check Arsenal
Column's scout report to see whether Arsenal missed a trick on the Brazilian.

The 25-year-old Brazil midfielder was believed to be on Arsene Wenger's radar, but even a
persuasive word from former Gunner Gilberto Silva couldn't aid Arsenal's cause.

It's an inauspicious sending off of the old blog, I must say.
Andrei Arshavin is all over the press because something he said 6 months ago was reprinted in
the World's Least Reliable News Source. Felipe Melo (L'Equipe) has reportedly renewed his contract
with Fiorentina until 2013, all but ruling the player out for an Arsenal transfer.

Well, the big news this morning is that Felipe Melo has re-signed with Fiorentina. While this
doesn't necessarily mean he won't still consider coming to Arsenal, especially since there is
reportedly some sort of out clause in the contract, I think it certainly makes it much less likely.
Phooey he seems like a really good fit, and I don't want to have to start looking elsewhere and I
don't want to have important transfer business dragging on into August, where any player won't be
able to participate in pre-season training with the rest of the club.

Arsenal have revealed the players who have not been rewarded with a new contract. Arsenal have
trimmed their reserve and youth teams by deciding to go against awarding eight players renewed
terms, while four players have done enough to secure a new contract. The most notable departure is

Well, it looks like Edin Dzeko will not be coming to Arsenal after all. He says he'll either
move to Milan or stay put at Wolfsburg. But this could very well all be posturing. If you remember
during the summer of 2008, Arshavin first said he was only interested in moving to Barcelona, then
when they weren't interested said he'd love to play for Chelsea or Arsenal, then when they weren't
interested, was practically begging to play for Spurs.

Morning to you, it's another one of those summer days with not very much happening at all. A
little bit of transfer speculation and that's about it.
The Sun is linking us with Feynoord striker Luc Castaignos who is a veteran at 16 years of age.
Apparently he'd cost £4m and will only sign for us if we let him stay with the Dutch club on
loan.

I understand the season is over and almost everyone is looking ahead of the next one, but the
website would be missing something if I don't write a recap on the highs and lows of the 2008/2009
season, a very disappointing one, at least for Arsenal's high standards.
I don't know if that fan who after the 1-2 Chelsea win approached Wenger saying "We will never
win the League" is a prophet or anything like that, but unfortunately he was spot on, on what our
campaign was going to be.

Hello all. Nice match yesterday wasn't it? It's great to see some of the younger players get a
chance to play in the league games, especially when they take full advantage of their opportunities
and we get a win. With everyone focused on Manchester United on Tuesday, this match had been pretty
much forgotten about by most of the Arsenal community.

For a moment, I thought today's was a Carling Cup game, not only because of the line-up Wenger
started with but for how relaxed each and every player seemed to be out there, as if there was no
pressure at all.
The second half saw Pompey trying to reopen the contest by making a number of substitutions
including Nigerian John Utaka who went close in a number of occassions but was very wasteful in his
efforts.

Arsenal supporters didn't see much of midfielder Amaury Bischoff who joined the Gunners despite

Arsenal new boys Mikael Silvestre and Amuary Bischoff both made their first appeareance for the

certainly great news [.

Arsenal will be looking to shoot down the white's in a tough looking clash at the Reebok tomorrow

the two sides usually create plenty of goals, and [.

Hello there,
as we creep ever closer to the end of the Interlull there are a few bits and pieces to be going
on with.
Amaury Bischoff is a signing that baffled, perplexed and bemused most Arsenal fans. He has
barely kicked a professional ball in anger but says he's eager to repay the faith shown in him by
Arsene Wenger.

New Arsenal signing Amaury Bischoff is ready to repay the faith Arsene Wenger has shown in him by

summer carrying an injury, and Gunners boss Wenger admitted that he was 'taking a gamble on his
talent.' Bischoff recognised that risk and is determined [.

There's a host of Arsenal players to keep your eyes on today. While Aaron Ramsey didn't get on
the pitch for Wales, backup keeper Lukasz Fabianski got the start in goal for Poland with Artur
Boruc suspended? Or out of action. Regardless, they'll be much more later on today/tomorrow. Here's
to a great (and boring) day of internationals, plus hoping for no injuries.
