Arsene Wenger has talked a lot about tackling. Invariably the discussion gets hijacked by
clueless hacks and pundits who convert that into an Arsenal V Rest of the League debate and take
pride in highlighting one or two poor tackles by Arsenal players.
According to a number of morons who have the privilege of influencing public opinion, Arsenal
are just as bad as any other team when it comes to tackling.
As promised in my Strike Partnership article (Although not to the most pinpoint time
schedule) here are my top ten defensive pairings in Premiership History.

If that game is anything to go by, I guess I should miss more matches! In fact, the Mrs. did
cheekily make such a suggestion but it was stared down.
More importantly, it's three big points at a very difficult venue as Arsenal continue to make
light work of really tough games. If the reverse phenomenon can be stemmed the title will certainly
end up at the Emirates.
Lee Bowyer is a nasty piece of work. The FA correctly slapped a three match ban on him for
stamping on Bacary Sagna with malicious intent to hurt as clearly shown in the picture. He was also
guilty of raking his studs down Sagna's Achilles heel on two separate occasions. It was clear as
daylight on the pitch and it should have resulted in a straight red card but the referee and
linesman either missed it or chose to ignore it.
How does he do it? Whether it's with his face, the back of his head or the stunning way Chicharito

Before we turn our attention to yet another cup match, I want to take a little moment to reflect
on the league. Manchester United has just gone 5 points ahead of us, now that they've finally
played their match in hand. Yet, it could have so easily been just 2 points even after that
Tuesday's game at Blackpool.
And so the attention on the final weekend of this season's Premier League will (with all due
respect to the struggle to avoid Europa League qualification) be upon the battle to avoid the
dreaded drop into the Championship. This weekend's results could not have been scripted better with
five clubs now separated by just one point.
.....and so we face, the final curtain. It's the last match preview of the season but
unfortunately there's not really much to get excited about other than possibly having a hand in
sending Birmingham to the Championship and pipping Liverpool to 5th spot and the Europa League
place.
This article has nothing about Arsenal but I just wanted to share my views on the teams fighting
the battle for survival at the wrong end of the table.
Two out of Blackburn, Wolves, Wigan, Birmingham, and Blackpool will be joining West Ham in the
Championship next season.
To be perfectly frank, I am disappointed that some good sides are struggling to survive.

Well, no real news with the starting lineup it was exactly as I predicted in my preview.
Arsenal feeling good again after getting 3 points in a must-win game to ring in 2011, and
getting the momentum going back in the right direction ahead of this week's crucial clash with

Well, for a myriad of reasons, my creative juices are well and truly sapped right now. No fancy

The commentators said that the difference between the two sides was the fact that Arsenal made
it count when it mattered, as opposed to Birmingham. We have been on the receiving end of the same
for a long time and it was nice to see a change. Is this for real or is it just blip in our rather
abysmal consistently inconsistent graph?
