der richtige Moment ist, die Karriere zu beenden. Und dieser Moment ist jetzt gekommen. Ich bin
froh, dass ich die Entscheidung bewusst und gut überlegt getroffen habe und nicht aus der Emotion
nach der WM heraus.

The Germans who had huffed and puffed their way against Canada and Nigeria finally showed their
class in the much anticipated final group encounter against Les Bleus. Sylvia Nied opted to open
with Ilka Grings and Fatmire Bajmaraj. It was Kristin Garefrekes who got them on the frontfoot with
her header with Grings following suit to put Germany two up.
The best player in women's soccer history shows up against Norway. Her contribution; two goals
and an assist. This World Cup is turning out to be a no show for Birgit Prinz and Abby Wambach but
Homare Sawa against Mexico and Marta's statement today clearly show we should not write these big
names off too early.

Ballbeherrschung?
Quelle: Youtube

The United States women's national team kicks off its World Cup campaign on Tuesday in hopes of
securing its first World Cup championship since 1999.
The U.S. women have never finished worse than third in any of the five Women's World Cups, but
after the standard that was set by the teams of the past, it figures to be win or bust yet again
for coach Pia Sundhage and her squad.
It's now less than two weeks until the 2011 Women's World Cup starts in Germany, and over the
next couple of weeks or so we'll be taking the time to bring you a quick run-down of all of the
teams that are taking part in this year's competition. FIFA had considered increasing the number of
teams entering this year's tournament to twenty-four, and then to twenty.
Germany are the overwhelming Women's World Cup favorites for two very distinct reasons:
i. They're better than everybody else two-time defending champs.
ii. They're better than everybody else and hosting the tournament.
But they've also launched a couple of campaigns one formal, the other less so in order to drum
up interest.
But, yay Müller!
