Hannover vs Atletico Madrid 1-2 Highlights Europa League 2012 Mame Biram Diouf Adrian Falcao Video

After the first-leg results, the odds were stacked against the National Teamers Abroad clubs
looking to advance in the Europa League quarterfinals. Jermaine Jones's Schalke 04 drew Bilbao 2-2
on the night, exiting the tournament 6-4 on aggregate. Jones got the start with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
(28th) and Raul (52nd) scoring.
The dream of European silverware is still alive for four Americans, whose teams are locked in
UEFA Europa League quarterfinal battles on Thursday.
U.S. national team stalwarts Jozy Altidore, Steve Cherundolo, Jermaine Jones and the injured
Oguchi Onyewu all have their teams a result away from reaching the semifinals of the
competition.
Steve Cherundolo started for Hannover 96, losing 2-1 to Atletico Madrid on the road at the Vicente
Calderon stadium. Atletico opened the scoring in the 9th minute with Mame Biram Diouf equalizing in
the 38th. Atletico got a late winner in the 89th minute. Better news for Jozy Altidore and AZ who
beat Valencia 2-1 at home.
Athletic Bilbao's poor form didn't continue in Europe as they managed to pick up a massive 4-2
victory over Bundesliga representative, Schalke 04 on Thursday, in a very intense match from the
kick off until final whistle.
Fernando Llorente was once again the important actor for Bilbao with his brace, while wonder kid
Iker Muniain along with Oscar de Marcos added the goals for the Basque based outfit to cancel two
Raul Gonzales' strikes.

Jozy Altidore and AZ Alkmaar's sucessful run in the Europa League continued on Thursday, as they
defeated Spanish side Valencia in the first leg of their quarterfinals clash.
AZ played to a 2-1 home win over Valencia on goals from Brett Holman and Maarten Martens.
By now all Manchester United fans would have known that we've agreed to sell Mame Biram Diouf to
Hannover 96. The question, I'm pondering over is Why? Diouf was signed from Molde FK in July 2009,
and after a 30-month stay in English football, he's moving to Germany. I find his transfer really
weird! During all this time, he has played lot of football, he has gained valuable experience and
made
Reports this morning suggested that Mame Biram Diouf has agreed a loan move to Hannover,
however, more recently, claims have been made that he has signed a two and a half.
German site, Kicker, claims he passed his medical this morning and is ready for a permanent move
for around £1.5m. Hannover are currently 7th in the league, 10 points behind Bayern Munich, having
scored just 21 goals in 19 games.
Mame Biram Diouf has claimed that Wigan are amongst several clubs who are interested in signing
him on loan this January.
After an average loan spell at Blackburn last season, scoring 6 goals in 29 games, including a
hattrick against Norwich in the League Cup and a goal against Arsenal, he is hoping to end the
season well so he can get in United's team next year.
Dimitar Berbatov was the Premier League's top scorer seven months ago and lifted a record
breaking 19th title with Manchester United. He has been fourth choice striker at the club this
season though, behind Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez.
The club tried to sell the striker in the summer following his omission from the Champions
League final squad but the player wasn't having any of it, determined to stay on our books and
fight for his place and has behaved admirably since.
The 2012 African Cup Of Nations is set to begin on the 21st of January until the 12th of
February, so we thought with not long to go it may be worthwhile figuring out which teams are going
to be most affected by players departing for this competition.
Players Involved In The African Cup Of Nations
Starting with the teams at the top end of the Premier League, Biram Diouf of Senegal appears to
be the only Manchester United player affected which isn't likely to affect the club much at all as
he is probably their 6th choice striker.
Rio Ferdinand, Danny Welbeck, Nani, Phil Jones, Jonny Evans, Michael Carrick, Michael Owen,
Darron Gibson and Mame Biram Diouf visited the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
Wayne Rooney, Park Ji-Sung, Patrice Evra and Tom Cleverley went to The Christie.
"Our Lads Show Their Christmas Spirit" was originally published at The
Republik of Mancunia.
Dimitar Berbatov has been ruled out of Manchester United's massive Champions League trip to
Basle leaving Sir Alex Ferguson with limited options up front.
After Javier Hernandez suffered an ankle injury at Aston Villa on Saturday that is set to rule
him out for a month, Ferguson expressed the hope Berbatov would have recovered from his own ankle
problem to make the flight to Switzerland.
Ferguson punished for showing Palace a lack of respect
Bookies were offering odds of 12/1 on a Crystal Palace victory at Old Trafford last night, and
Sir Alex Ferguson's shock following his side's 2-1 quarter final loss showed that he expected his
Manchester United side to win as much as they did.
Following Manchester United's Carling Cup exit against Crystal Palace last night, OTP looks at five
players on display night who are treading a tightrope if they want to continue their careers at Old
Trafford. 1. Darron Gibson It looked like Fergie was going to ship Gibson out on the regular
Manchester-Sunderland service during the summer.
Manchester United will continue their policy of fielding a youthful side in the Carling Cup when
they take on Crystal Palace in this week's quarter-final tie. Sir Alex Ferguson revealed he would
be making wholesale changes from the side that were held to a draw at home to Newcastle at the
weekend, with the majority of senior players expected to be rested once again.
To celebrate Sir Alex Ferguson's 25th year in charge of Manchester United, he has named a
youthful lineup for today's match against Sunderland. Wayne Rooney finds himself starting in the
heart of the Premier League champions' midfield for a second straight match, partnering enforcer
Darren Fletcher.
If you could choose one moment that best encapsulates the raw talent of Ravel Morrison, you'd go
back a fortnight to a Manchester Senior Cup game against Bolton's Reserves. 93 minutes had passed
on what was nothing more than a dour encounter and, with the score at 0-0, Morrison had shifted
responsibility upon himself to put things right.

Dimitar Berbatov was left out of Manchester United's starting line-up again, much to the
surprise of many fans who had been expecting the Bulgarian to make a return after barely getting on
the pitch this season.
Sit Alex Ferguson still insists that the striker has a future at the club, although this is
becoming more and more difficult to believe.
Now the international break is over, the games start coming thick and fast as Manchester United
have additional Champions League and Carling Cup commitments.
Sir Alex Ferguson knows how best to utilise his squad and will reward those who have patiently
watched the Reds rack up three consecutive victories in the Barclays Premier League.
A contrasting issues apparently being faced by Machester United' coach, Sir Alex Ferguson, as he
is now facing a dilemma in choosing the attacking partnership up front especially after the fine
performances of young guns such as Danny Wellbeck in the last few games.
Wellbeck along with Federico Macheda, and Mame Biram Diouf all returned from their loan this
summer and simply adding the full packed rosters of forwards with Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen,
Javier "Chicarito" Hernandez and Dimitar Berbatov.
Ahead of today's highly anticipated Community Shield clash against Manchester City, Man United
manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists that he's happy with his deep pool of first team strikers. The
defending Premier League champions have an overcrowded front line, with seven players vying for
spots in the first team.

'Twas Paul Scholes' testimonial last night, and the United leg-end was sent merrily on his way
by a sold-out Old Trafford, though not before the he opened the scoring against the Eric
Cantona-helmed New York Cosmos (who boasted Fabio Cannavaro, Patrick Vieira, Brad Friedel, Michel
Salgado and Robbie Keane amongst their number) with a trademark peach from the edge of the area
after only eight minutes.

For the second consecutive game, Manchester United tore an MLS team apart in the second half to
run out comfortable winners.
Last week United scored four goals in the second half to beat the New England Revolution 4-1 and
last night they scored six (yes 6!) second half goals to beat the Seattle Sounders 7-0.

Mame Biram Diouf has been strongly linked with a move away from the club, with Blackpool and
Blackburn apparently interested in signing him on a permanent basis.
Diouf joined the club 18 months ago but has spent a whole season on loan at Blackburn, with his
highlights including a hattrick against Norwich in the League Cup and scoring against Arsenal in
his first start for the club.

In the second match of its preseason tour of the States, Manchester United made its dominance on
the world soccer scene known with a demolition of the hosting Seattle Sounders ending at 7-0 in
front of 67,052 attendees.
Despite only being on the field for 45 minutes, Wayne Rooney showed just why he is considered
one of the premier strikers in the world, notching a hat trick and giving the Sounders back line a
torrid night.
Prior to each match, New England Soccer Today will invite a reporter from the other side to
provide insight regarding the Revolution's next opponent.
This week, The Busby Way editor Chudi Onwuazor shared his thoughts on the state
of Manchester United and what the New England Revolution can expect when they face them at Gillette
Stadium in an international exhibition on Wednesday night.
Man United have released their squad for their U.S.A. tour, and except for Chicharito, all of
United's big stars will be in the U.S.
The United squad includes Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Nani, Dimitar Berbatov, Nemanja Vidic,
Ji-Sung Park, Brazilian twins Fabio and Rafael, and Patrice Evra.

Manchester United has released the travel roster for their upcoming U.S. tour which, of course,
includes a match against the Seattle Sounders on July 20. Among the players that will be making the
trip are Javier Hernandez (Chicharito), Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Young, Nani, Ji-Sung
Park, Michael Carrick and Ryan Giggs.
There were whispers this morning that Blackburn's Phil Jones had signed for Manchester United
for £18m. With it previously looking as though Liverpool were favourites to sign him, alongside
Jordan Henderson who they have valued at £20m, the rumours seemed unlikely. Arsenal were
reportedly also keen to sign him.

Having several of their loaned out players becoming an important act for the clubs that they are
currently playing at, Manchester United, are ready to take the successful boys back in the summer
especially the likes of Tom Cleverly, Danny Welbeck and Mame Biram Diouf.
The confirmation about United's plan in getting those players back was revealed by the club's
manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, who believes that next summer those loaned out players are ready to
contribute for the Red Devils.
Chelsea dropped 2 more points yesterday. Looks like it's coming down to either us, City or
Arsenal. I didn't get to watch the encounter against Fulham, but the consensus was that Torres
looked a bit out of sorts again. Luiz on the other hand, looks to be a very solid signing and could
be a permanent fixture in their backline for years to come.
Roy Hodgson has survived many low points in his short spell as Liverpool manager but Wednesday
night's 3-1 defeat at Blackburn would seem to be one disaster too far and could hasten his exit
from Anfield.
Even before Saturday's injury-time winner against Bolton the suggestion was club owners New England
Sports Ventures were actively looking for a replacement.
