The 2010 season may be only be a few days dead, but the 2011 season has already kicked off with
the Expansion Draft.
The Vancouver Whitecaps and the Portland Timbers added ten players to their initial MLS rosters
on Wednesday as their clubs began to take shape for the 2011 season.
Here's your stats from last night's game.
Shavar Thomas made his 150th start of his MLS career.
Jack Jewsbury's goal was his 14th league goal, giving him sole possession of 12th place on that
list, breaking his tie with Matt McKeon, Jose Burciaga Jr, Sasha Victorine, and Claudio Lopez.
Goodbye CommunityAmerica Ballpark! Birahim Diop sends us out in style with a hat trick that
activates the Planet Sub Hat Trick Special. Props to Eric Kronberg for getting the win in his
first-ever MLS game and for Jon Kempin for being the first-ever KCW Juniors product to suit up for
an MLS match. Watch the highlights here:

For those that missed my Tweets pregame last night, I was incredibly unhappy with the decision to
Birahim Diop up top in the center striker position. Diop has been very unsuccessful when he's come
on as a substitute this season as a striker. The biggest was his poor finishing against Toronto FC
when he had the full goal to shoot for.
With the rampant 4-1 win tonight (well last night now), our boys kicked in the Planet Sub Hat Trick
Special for tomorrow (well today....Sunday). Click here for details...it's easy, just ask for the
special at any KC-area P-Sub location.Birahim Diop was the star tonight with two goals (on his
first two shots on goal in his MLS career) and an assist (a thing of beauty along the ground to Kei
Kamara).
So, going into the game Sunday, you may not be all that familiar with Birahim Diop. If you are
not a fan of the Wizards^... well, you may not have heard of him at all. Heck, even if you were
familiar with him then you were probably thinking that he would be as ineffective as he was in his
brief appearances earlier in the season.
I talked with Diop about his goals earlier this week.Diop shooting for his first goal...Diop

The Wizards closed out the 2010 season on a high note, the same way they began it, by putting 4 on
the board, this time against the San Jose Earthquakes. The Earthquakes put out a fairly first team
lineup for the game, including MVP candidate, Chris Wondolowski. The Wizards on the other hand
threw out a lineup that included many reserve players.
The Wizards season is over and it's time to look at the year end awards. First let's look at the
team's year end awards. This year the team handed out 5 awards, Golden Boot, MVP, Defensive Player
of the Year, MLS W.O.R.K.S. Humanitarian of the Year, and Bob Gansler KCW Juniors Player of the
Year.
MVP and Golden Boot both went to Kei Kamara for his 10 goals and 6 assists this season.
