There's no better way to forget about a horrible loss than picking up a nice victory. The
Seattle Sounders will try to do just that today when they open their 2012 MLS season against
Toronto FC. As we should all know by now, this is not the same TFC side that the Sounders beat 4-0
on aggregate last season.
If you have not yet picked up your scarf, today is the best day to do it. Dave and Jeremiah will
be at Temple Billiards today with scarves for everyone who has paid for them, as well as for anyone
interested in buying one. There are about 70 unclaimed scarves, so if you want one it's probably
best to do get it sooner than later.
UPDATE: A reminder that Steve's memorial is tomorrow. You can donate to his memorial
Melanoma Research Fund online, and cash donations at the memorial will be matched up to $5,000 by
Sounders FC.

Last week a Sounder supporter passed on the way to watch the team face Jaguares de Chiapas.
"Date With Sounder at Heart": Now With Free Tickets
Just in case you weren't convinced before, we can now share that in addition to some specials
guests, Saturday's "Date With Sounder at Heart" in the basement of Temple Billiards will also
include some free tickets to give away for next Tuesday's CCL finale against Monterrey.
Sometimes the virtual needs to get real. Sometimes communities need to congregate. At these

each other. We're going to tear down the digital walls and commune before the October 15th match
against the San Jose Earthquakes.
Five years ago today I watched Fulham get trounced 5-1 by Manchester United. I was in the
Castle Pub, Tooting, and, well, you can read what I thought here.
That was the first post on Craven Cottage Newsround. Hade (who had worked out the five year
thing as we were making dinner tonight) and I had been on holiday in Prague to celebrate her 30th
and while out there I decided to start writing.
