In promotion of ESPN's 2010 World Cup coverage the sports network giant has commissioned
artists, at the direction of ESPN and Wieden+Kennedy agency, to depict a story in each of the 32
team's in a mural.
Vanity Fair reports that each mural will appear in publications and on subway platforms and
billboards in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and elsewhere from now through mid-July, the network
worked with the Wieden+Kennedy ad agency and the little-known AM I Collective, a
group of artists based in Cape Town, South Africa.
The new hunky dory ads that have appeared on numerous
billboards and TV adverts, have caused controversy, leading to a
complaint been made by the Rape Crisis Network.
Here are some of the World's Sexiest Female Footballers:Sweden's own Josefine Öqvist posed for
Swedish men's magazine Slitz. She was one of the first female athletes to do so. Of course, there
were people who thought this was inappropriate but if Freddie Ljungberg can appear half naked on
billboards, why can't Josefine be in a lad's mag?
I would love to see billboards like this in Dallas. They're nothing short of awesome. Portland,
well done.

Liverpool supporters have begun a coordinated email campaign to the Royal Bank of Scotland warning
of a product boycott if the taxpayer-owned bank provides a long-term extension to the club's £237m
loans.
The bank confirmed there had been correspondence from fans but declined to expand on its nature.

People are getting ready for the World Cup in Port-au-Prince. This is a country where taptaps
are decorated to reflect the drivers' allegiance (to Brazil or Argentina) or even to honor a
particular player, and where cell phone companies put up billboards with the national team that
proclaim "One People.
A battling performance against the mighty Brazilians converts downtrodden minnows into
everyone's second favourite team in South Africa.

So, there have been some rumors going about that OnGoal is planning on changing the name of the
Wizards, probably coming up in the next season so it coincides with the opening of the new stadium.
Well, I decided to over-analyze as the situation as only an engineer could, and was about to
post the response to the message boards I frequent before I realized that A) it was too long and
nobody would read it there and B) it was a pretty good fit for some content for the blog here.
Chinese sportswear manufacturer, Xtep International Holdings Limited has secured shirt sponsorhip
for English Premier League club Birmingham City. The company will pay £7.1 million over a
five-year contract starting in August for a joint "Xtep-BCFC" logo to be worn by players and for
eight "mega advertising billboards" bearing Xtep's logo and products at BCFC's St Andrew's Stadium.
(Pictured above) This attempt by Tai Po's Ye Jia (23) was the first "decent" shot of the game I
took.
SHORT SCRIBE
To be honest, it was a poor first half for me as there were barely any worthy shot that deemed
"photogenic"
Time to time, I could only recall myself deleted those "unworthy" shots - in short, it was a
frustration first 45minutes.
The Spirit Of Shankly has reportedly put up two billboards like this so far and has planned for
more in the city.

Spirit of Shankly has unveiled billboards around Liverpool in an attempt to raise awareness about
the ongoing backroom problems at the club and add pressure on the Reds' American owners.
Spirit of Shankly, last month, forced Tom Hicks Junior from the Board of Liverpool FC after the
American foul mouthed a Liverpool fan via email.
Spirit of Shankly, a Liverpool supporter's union, has erected billboard posters in its city to
protest against the American owners of Liverpool FC, Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
The posters, which read "Tom & George: Debt, Lies, Cowboys Not Welcome Here," have appeared on
billboards on major roads into Liverpool.
Liverpool FC fans campaigning against the club's American owners have taken their protest to the
streets.
A number of billboards have sprung up on major routes into the city, calling for the resignation of
Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
The posters, the brainchild of supporters union Spirit Of Shankly (SOS), are emblazoned with the
message: "Tom and George, Debt, Lies, Cowboys.
Many some of you can probably wear this t-shirt with pride. Homegrown scoring chart toppers. (The

Great Expectations
Excitement is building. If you close your eyes you can feel it in the air, smell it. The Timbers
are becoming harder to ignore. They're on the sides of buses, on Max trains, and on billboards. You
see them on fliers and posters, hear them talked about on the radio, or maybe even notice them
pasted on the side of the Foosball table at your local bar.
One of the aims of this blog is to expand its coverage beyond the S.League into the continental
level, which I'm glad to say that I managed to fulfil that task as an obscure blogger.
Just as people tend to see the glamour side of these continental tournaments (i.e.:the Asian
Champions League and the second-tier AFC Cup), I thought it would be an eye-opener to take a look
behind the scene of running the events, which is an arduous task for those who were involved.
I was at the mentioned event held at "Alcova" in the CBD area.
The purpose of this event was to announce the official unveiling of ten S.League players who are
being roped in by Puma as their sports performance and lifestyle ambassadors for 2010.

the event it's hosting.
A few weeks ago, our friend from Jo'burg told us how he'd be staying at home during the World
Cup! Now our question is... ¿para qué mano?! You'll never know whose team bus you'll
catch even if you're deciding to take a stroll outside. Sure, there's no way that that Italian team
bus will pull over for Canna "The Thighs" Varo to enjoy a hotdog bun next to a
limeade stand, but never say never!
Who knows, this goal may be more than just a gift in the group standings. (Getty Images)
Every four years we expect a bump in random folks watching our lovely game. Each World Cup comes
with more hype and excitement and as the tournament goes on some average sports fans tune in to see
what all the fuss is about.
Just in time for the World Cup, Havaianas has released an exclusive line of World Cup sandals.
The limited edition sandals are available for select countries in this summer's showcase
tournament. On top of that, the company is putting together a whole host of events for fans in the
New York City area this summer, and their first event for the opening match between South Africa v
Mexico was captured on video and can be seen here.
We're all watching, we're all hearing, we've all got an
opinion...Vuvuzelas.
Frankly, I was expecting it. I watched the Confederations Cup, they were everywhere. FIFA must have
known about them when they set up the World Cup, so why are they debating banning them?
Everywhere you turn in South Africa, FIFA has papered walls and billboards with the slogan ‘Ke
Nako. Celebrate Africa's Humanity™.' At first glance it seems banal and harmless. But the
more I see it, the more it bothers me. First, there is something discomforting in seeing the
large trademark symbol inserted next to every use of the slogan.
Congratulations Spain, the probably deserved victors from a month of non-stop
football....
But...did anyone else feel some internal emptiness after the World Cup has finished? – The
crippling knowledge that for the next three week us football fans are without our beloved sport –
Raising the question: what the hell are we going to do now, watch golf?
The obsession Manchester City has with becoming a bigger club than United has produced a number of
bizarre attempts in the last couple of years. Putting up giant billboards in the City centre,
paying...

For the second time in 2010, the United States National Team will play host to European
competition in East Hartford, Connecticut. Last time, it was the Men hosting the Czechs, today it
is the Women hosting Sweden. It will be the second game of a two game series against the Swedes
(the teams played to a 1-1 draw earlier in the week) and will be televised on FSC at 7:30.
By Pieter Brown - As we all know Miami FC will be rebranding next year as the Strikers and that's a
good thing. We still don't know if they will be known as the Ft. Lauderdale or South Florida
Strikers, that decision is still being debated.
Miami FC/Traffic Sports have said that 2011 is the year they have been planning for some big
things.

I'm happy to admit, in the close season one of the main things that keeps my football mind busy
is anticipation of the new kits. Not just for my team, but for others too. True, football is about
the game and not fashion. But for some reason every summer I can't wait to see what monstrous
creation Tottenham will be forced to wear come August.
New Manchester City signing Aleksandar Kolarov has revealed his dreams that City will one day be
bigger than neighboring Manchester United. The Citizens have lived in United's shadow for some time
now, but the bold "Welcome to Manchester" Carlos Tevez billboards signaled new intentions from
the blue half of Manchester last year, and a summer of big buys has only furthered that
initiative.
Club Chairman Martin Broughton described himself as "elated" at the news.
The last few weeks have been nothing short of chaos on Merseyside. But today fans of Liverpool
finally got the good news that the proposed takeover of the club by New England Sports Ventures has
been given the green light.
It is the time of year when votes are cast in Major League Soccer. These include the VW Most
Valuable Player, Visa Defender of the Year, Coach of the Year, X-Box Fair Play Award, adidas
referee awards and more (there are five with sponsors). Among the lesser known awards is the
"Team Public Relations Award".
Liverpool FC's new owners have been urged to make a swift decision on its plans to replace the
club's current stadium
It is still unclear whether John Henry and his NESV group will build a new stadium or revamp the
old one.
City council leader Joe Anderson met NESV'S Tom Werner on Sunday and explained the urgency felt by
local residents in Anfield.
It has been a roller coaster ride during the first two years of the most recent incarnation of
Womens professional soccer in the United States. There have been significant "ups" like the
signing of Marta, the building of a new stadium in Georgia and the significant partnership
contributions from Puma, Amway and others.
PORTLAND, Ore. – New players, new jerseys, new assistant coaches: This has been a busy couple of
days for the Portland Timbers as they prepare to join Major League Soccer next season. First the
team rounded out its coaching staff, then they introduced a bunch of new players. On Thursday they
unveiled their inaugural uniforms, [.
SEATTLE/PORTLAND In September, the Portland Timbers planted a slightly taunting billboard near
Qwest Field declaring "PORTLAND, OREGON SOCCER CITY USA 2011." But it didn't look like this. As
part of the "There's no pity in the Rose City" marketing campaign, billboards are popping up around
Portland featuring attractive women (and men) holding forestry tools.
