It's a good time to be an Evertonian. I try not to gush too much on this blog, but sometimes, the
heart will out. This, I'm afraid is one of those times. But it's a good time to be an Evertonian,
not just because we're having another good season on the pitch (despite the torrid [...]
According to ESPN Soccernet, Everton defender Joleon Lescott
is going to write to chairman Bill Kenwright asking for a move to
Manchester City.
It is also reported that Manchester City will go after Porto defender
Bruno Alves if they fail in signing Lescott.
As Rafael Benitez flounders in a mire of his own making, it's easy to picture a happier scene being
played out not a million miles away from Anfield.
A middle-aged man with grey, curly hair allowing himself a satisfied smile as he sits in front of
the television at home or enjoys a leisurely round of golf.
All of us neutrals were delighted to see Everton beat United at Wembley on Sunday. Not because we
hate United...although it's fair to say the majority of non-United fans feel a certain contempt
towards the Red's, mainly because of their domination in the English league - and their outspoken
manager. But it wasn't because of that; it was because we were glad to see a team from outside the

narrowly missed out on a spot in the Champions League final.
Get on with it!
Everton have confirmed they are negotiating with Arsenal over the transfer of defender
Philippe Senderos.
Toffees Chairman Bill Kenwright revealed that talks are taking place but as yet no deal has been
finalised.
Earlier today the Swiss Football Federation claimed that Senderos had signed for
Everton.
UPDATE: According to Everton's official website, Everton are
in talks with Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos. Everton
chairman Bill Kenwright said,
"We have been negotiating with Arsenal for the transfer of Philippe .
Moyes has complete control over transfer strategy at Everton and was therefore incensed, by
Hughes's insistence that a deal for Lescott remains possible as "[City] are still trying to speak
to the people who will ultimately make the decision over whether or not the deal continues".
A fan can accept football illiteracy from its owners because they know the vast majority are only
in it for kudos or profit.
They can also excuse a lack of cash, if, like Bill Kenwright, they're in it mostly for love. Fans
can even live with pig-headedness, aloofness and a poor knowledge of the club.
