Metro State 1, Colorado State-Pueblo 0: What a big difference from Friday. After pummeling
the Colorado School of Mines at home two days earlier, the Roadrunners managed only a 1-0 victory
over Colorado State-Pueblo 1-0 on the road Sunday.

Stanford University is one of the finest academic institutions in the world.
Jordan Hilbrands scored two goals as the University of Illinois women's soccer team defeated
Colorado 2-1 on Friday afternoon in Denver.
Hilbrands got the game's first goal in the 31st minute.
She took a vicious lead pass from Courtney Bell, split two CU defenders and poked the ball past
goalkeeper Kara Linder and into the lower right corner of the net.
On Sunday, the Buffs came to play.
After giving up two goals against the run of play in a 2-1 loss to Illinois on Friday, the
University of Colorado soccer team pummeled St. Mary's 8-1 on Sunday afternoon at an invitational
tournament hosted by the University of Denver.
And the turnaround from Friday was almost instant.
The University of Colorado soccer team sent its seniors out on good note Friday afternoon at
Prentup Field with a 2-0 victory over Texas Tech in CU's final regular-season game.
Colorado finishes the regular season 9-9, 6-4-0 in the Big 12, while the Red Raiders fall to
8-8-3 overall and 3-4-3 in conference.
BOULDER — The defenders on the University of Colorado soccer team do more than just protect
their goal; they attack the other team, too. With three minutes to play on Saturday at Prentup
Field, outside defender Kym Lowry knocked in a rebound for the winning goal as the Buffs defeated
Utah 2-1.
Sophomore Kate Russell took a direct kick about four yards outside the Utah box, and defender
Mary White headed the initial cross.

Colorado College 4, New Hampshire 0: The Tigers cashed in on a pair of corner
kicks early in the match and never looked back. Sophomore defender Beth Wright scored a goal and
assisted on another in the opening 13 minutes of play at Stewart Field in Colorado Springs.
BOULDER — After a couple of weeks of getting pushed around by the big dogs, it was nice to
push back. The University of Colorado soccer team ended a losing streak against three national
powerhouses with a 1-0 victory over Big 12 rival Nebraska on Friday at Prentup Field. Kassidy
Fitzpatrick scored her third goal of the season, in the 68th minute after a scramble in front of
the Cornhuskers' goal.
BOULDER — Nikki Marshall scored four goals as the University of Colorado soccer team improved
to 4-0 in the Big 12 after beating Oklahoma 5-1 on Friday at Prentup Field.
Marshall, a senior, opened the scoring on an assist from sophomore Kelly Butler in the 21st
minute.
And after Butler assisted Marshall's first goal, Marshall returned the favor.
The University of Colorado soccer team will be the No. 3 seed in the Big 12 soccer tournament,
which starts at 1 p.m. (Mountain time) Wednesday against sixth-seeded Texas at the Blossom Soccer
Complex in San Antonio.
