U.S. Under-23 Men's National Team head coach Caleb Porter has named a 20-player training camp
roster to convene March 13 to begin final preparations for the CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying
tournament.
The 19-player roster will be finalized March 20, the due date for all participating teams to
submit their rosters to CONCACAF.

There was a moment just the one, mind you where I thought this one might go south. And it was
this: a clear handball on the line to deny United a goal. Should have been a penalty. Should have
been a red card. Given just how fragile TFC must be after their terrible start to 2012, that would
have been a death warrant for them.

The 21-year-old Bill Hamid and 22-year-old Sean Johnson are prime examples of young talent hoping
to get noticed during the U.S. MNT's January camp. Both have taken on significant roles with their
respective MLS teams and also trained abroad during the offseason in Premier League environments.
Jon Levy The national team hasn't even suited up in 2012, but it's already been an encouraging year
for American soccer. Dempsey and Donovan (for two months, at least) are both leading the line of
attack for their respective English Premier League teams, the Women's National Teamers avoided a
would-be tragedy in their Vancouver hotel [.

For nearly 45 minutes, the United States under-23 national team forgot who they were.
US soccer has been making up for a shortage of on-the-ball talent by developing tough, athletic,
and hard-working players for a long, long time. The defining moment of the 2010 World Cup was
Landon Donovan's lung-bursting downfield run to score the winner over Algeria.

Speed & Versatility. These are the key points highlighted in Caleb Porter's roster for CONCACAF's
Olympic qualifying tournament, which begins later this month in Nashville. With a heavy MLS &
Bundesliga influence, the US will look to be one of the two teams qualifying out of our region for
the London games this summer.
Joe Corona is an interesting guy. Interesting because of his convoluted national team history.
Interesting because he commutes across the US / Mexico border every day. Interesting because of
his ready-for-endorsements last name. But mostly, interesting because in the 11th minute last
night, he chested down the rebound of a Freddy Adu free kick, and without settling the ball, drove
it into an empty net to give the US a 1-0 lead.

Looking at this weekend's schedule a couple things jump out to you. For one it is a lot of East
v. West with the Eastern clubs hosting the majority of the games (4 of 6). Second of all, it is a
lot of good team against bad team. Oh boy.
With a little help from Cuba, the United States had a great shot to win the Olympic Qualifying
group. All we had to do was win against El Salvador in the group finale from Nashville.Canada
failed to defeat Cuba, who entered the game in Nashville with a -10 goal differential with 0 goals
scored and 10 against in two previous matches, a 6-0 loss to the United States and a 4-0 loss to El
Salvador.

Soccer is a cruel sport sometimes. Make no mistake about it.
Yes it was a total collapse in a way by the US U-23 team last night against El Salvador in
Nashville. Having a 3-2 lead late into extra time, with just seconds away from being able to move
on to the semifinals, the unthinkable happened as El Salvador found a way to get by keeper Sean
Johnson for the 3-3 draw.
Brad Davis' 67th-minute goal was enough to help the Houston Dynamo to their first win in their
inaugural game at BBVA Compass Stadium over D.C. United this afternoon in Houston, Texas. The
loss was the second in three road matches for United over the course of 10 days. United (5-4-3 18
pts) remains in third place in [.
Dwayne De Rosario (right) and Hamdi Salihi scored on either side of halftime to help D.C. United to
a comfortable 2-0 win over the Colorado Rapids at RFK Stadium tonight. With the win United (6-4-3
21 pts) jumped into a tie for second place with idol Sporting Kansas City, just behind Eastern
Conference leaders New York Red Bull (22 pts).
Dwayne De Rosario continued his torrid scoring pace against his former teams by bagging a brace to
help lead D.C. United (7-4-3 24pts) to a 3-1 win tonight over still win less Toronto FC (0-9-0
0pts). De Rosario has scored five goals in TFC's past two visits to RFK Stadium.
Don't think you were alone if you went into the half shaking your head and wondering how United
were 2 0 up. Some combination of luck, Boskovic free kicks, and Hamid's reflexes opened a margin
that didn't seem so pronounced on the field, particularly after the Guy injury forced Heaps to move
Feilhaber inside where he belongs.
For at least the next three weeks, a new team will be sitting in first place in the Eastern
Conference, as DC United took down the New England Revolution 3-2 tonight at RFK Stadium. The win
moves DC a point ...
