Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman arrived in Zurich this morning in advance of the USA's bid presentation to the FIFA Executive Committee. He rehearsed his part of the presentation and also sat down for a few questions from Studio 90. Freeman opened up the four-person Bid presentation that also included, in order, U.

Awards show? Bosh. The FIFA red carpet blows such gilded nonsense right out of the water.

All the superstars of the various bids showed up in Zurich today well, most of them, anyway and FIFA rolled out the red carpet with photogs happily snapping away, just in front of the suits holding out collection plates.

World Cup Vote

On Thursday, FIFA will vote for who will host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. (FSC will cover the event live 9:30am ET. ESPN, ESPN Deportes, Univision and CNN International will also provide live coverage of the announcement, which is expected to take place around 10am. Tir Na Nog is hosting a viewing party that will include Union players, Mayor Nutter and representatives of the city's Bid Committee.

We're a little late posting (as the presentation just finished sorry), but the US made their bid presentation for the 2022 World Cup to FIFA today, in Zurich, Switzerland. The group on hand was impressive, including USSF President Sunil Gulati, former United States President Bill Clinton, US Soccer star Landon Donovan, United States Attorney General Eric Holder, and American Voice-Over Narrator Laureate Morgan Freeman.

Today is the big day. In the 21 years since the US was chosen by FIFA to host the 1994 World Cup the development of US soccer both domestically and internationally has been a continuous upward line of growth. Today is the day we will learn if the next twelve years of the development of soccer in this country will enjoy the reward of something larger than itself.

The U.S. gave its formal bid presentation to host World Cup '22 here on Wednesday, and a list of bold-faced names spoke on the Americans' behalf, including former President Bill Clinton, the actor Morgan Freeman, President Obama (on videotape) and star player Landon Donovan.

But the least recognizable speaker was the man who has done more to spearhead the U.
