It has been mentioned in quite a few publications today that Arsenal are talking to Athletico
Bilbao about the possibility of bring the Spanish international striker Fernando Llorente to the
Emirates this summer. It was reported in Bilbao that Arsene Wenger had been seen in the Basque city
and had met up with Llorente himself [.

The most successful manager in Barcelona's history improved his own record by winning the
2011-12 Copa Del rey title. This was the 14th title under Guardiola for FC Barcelona and was a
great parting gift to the manager. Two goals from Pedro and one from Messi in the first half sealed
the title for Barca, This was Barcelona's fourth trophy of teh season having won both Super Cup and
Fifa World Cup in this year.

Some unforgettable moments. Including the free for all that broke out at the end of the match.

David Villa ruled himself out of the running for a place in Spain's squad for Euro 2012 on

Villa has not played a competitive match since breaking his leg in the FIFA Club World Cup in
December and said on his official Twitter feed:
"I tried right to the end but I wasn't able to get to 100 per cent for the Euros.
Welcome to the Friday Crackovia Club, our weekly special on the best comedy
(ok, this is getting repetitive!) show from Catalonia. This week's
episode had a few surprises up its sleeve again, with a church musical complete with priests in the
distinct colours of the Blaugranas.
More than 73.000 people voted on Spanish Sports online channel "marca.com" for what they believed
to be the "Best 11 Players" of the Spanish Football League season 2011-2012. Marca - Best 11 season

Although Manchester United tragically blew an eight point lead in the title race and bowed out
of the 2011/2012 season as runners up, the Red Devils gained a lot from this drama filled year. If
history repeats itself as it normally does, United will come back stronger and deadlier next season
with a mean vengeance, just like they did after losing the title to Blackburn on the last day of
the 94/95 season.

"el balance de la Liga para el Athletic es negativo".
On this week's review section we salute the champions of Italy and the Europa League, while
relegated Blackburn and Spanish side Granada both feature in our bad and ugly sections.

Within the magnificent confines of the National Arena in Bucharest, Atletico Madrid won their
second Europa League in the space of three years with a domineering victory over Bilbao, with
hot-to-trot striker Radamel Falcao pivotal in reducing vast swathes of Marcelo Bielsa's darlings
to tears come the final whistle.
For the second week in a row, the streets in Madrid will be transformed into a colourful
sizzling 'fiesta', after Atletico's Europa League victory last night
and Real's La Liga title celebrations last week. If you're looking for
the party capital this summer, you know where it is!
Real Madrid's flight back from Bilbao on Wednesday night was understandably raucous after they
secured the league title. The in-flight celebrations were led by full-back Alvaro Arbeloa who
showed off his dance moves, which are largely restricted to the moonwalk. All the action was
captured by depressive drunk cameraman Iker Casillas, who occasionally likes to [.
They couldn't do it at the Bernabeu, but they did it
anyway! Real Madrid finally picked up their 32nd Spanish
League title after their 3-0 win over Bilbao at the San Mames last night.
It was their first La Liga since 2008 and the Los Blancos celebrated it in the most
cliché manner possible in football by singing Queen's
'We are the Champions' on their flight back to
Madrid.

tiempo.

Arsenal's interest in the French holding midfielder Yann M'Vila is well-documented, but with a
large block of rival teams from Spain and Italy lining up to make a bid for the £17 million-rated
Rennes star, Arsene Wenger has been looking at less illustrious alternatives. According to this
morning's Telegraph, who always seem to have an [.
Let's take a moment to reflect on the MADNESS from the football world
in the past week.
Ronaldo and Messi proved they were human beings after both
missed their penalties, Sergio Ramos joined NASA, Bilbao made it
to the finals of the Europa League for the first time in 35 years, Fernando Torres
scored possibly the most important goal of his Chelsea career, Pep
Guardiola confirmed his resignation as Barca coach, The Allianz Arena
turned bright blue, Mario Gomez wore a flower 'garland' and for once in
Jose Mourinho's life, he conceded defeat without outrightly blaming the
referee.
It might not be the one that most were expecting or even hoping for, but there will be an
all-Spanish final for a European trophy.
Atheltic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid advanced to the UEFA Europa League final after second-leg
semifinal triumphs on Thursday, with Madrid looking for its second tournament crown in three
years.
Barcelona have lined up Marcelo Biesla as a possible replacement for Guardiola who is set to
announce his resignation today. Guardiola's future with the club has remain in uncertainty ever
since his remarks to take a sabbatical surfaced early this year.
Reports emerging suggest that Guardiola met with both club president Sandro Rosell and sporting
director Andoni Zubizarreta on Thursday and informed them of his desire to leave at the end of the
season.

final europea después de 35 años.

GolTV has the semifinals of the Europa League: Valencia - Atletico Madrid at 3pm and Bilbao -
Sporting at 5pm ET. Oguchi Onyewu returned to Sporting's lineup over the weekend.

Fans of Espanyol in Catalonia are on a high after their side's 4-0
thumping of Valencia yesterday. The Valencianos are waging their own "third spot"
battle against Malaga, so this loss has nothing to do with the title race at
all.

1. We all know United do things the hard way but at no point did I think we would lose to Wigan
yesterday. If not for dreadful decisions by the linesman at the weekend, Wigan would have beaten
Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, but I underestimated their ability and the impact the sense of
injustice from the Chelsea game would have on them.
Welcome to La Liga Lunes, our weekly wrap on Spanish football! We'll start off
with Valencia, who held Madrid to a goalless draw at the Bernabeu
an impressive feat which cements their third spot in the table. Sure, a whopping 26
points separates them from Barcelona right now, but at least they're one point ahead of
local rivals, Levante.

"Don't mind me"
Straight off the bat: What a brilliant two-leg's worth of European football. 180 minutes of
full-tilt, whirligig football with ten goals to show for it none of them shabby in the
slightest.
After racking up a 4-2 headstart in Gelsenkirchen, Bilbao had the second-leg
frighteners put up them when Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's low drive (his 10th goal in the competition and
42nd of the season) put Schalke ahead at the San Mames to bring the Germans back into the tie- only
for Ibai Gomez to equalise on the night with a superb curling effort to re-establish the Basque
side's aggregate lead four minutes into the second half.

Probably the most entertaining quarter-final on display with a plethora of attack minded players
on both sides. Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Raul, Jose Manual Jurado for Schalke while the Basques had
Fernando Llorente, Oscar De Marcos, and Iker Munian.
It was Huntelaar in great form this season lashing a shot past Gorka Iraizoz who raised
Schalke's hopes for an upset win at San Mames.
After the first-leg results, the odds were stacked against the National Teamers Abroad clubs
looking to advance in the Europa League quarterfinals. Jermaine Jones's Schalke 04 drew Bilbao 2-2
on the night, exiting the tournament 6-4 on aggregate. Jones got the start with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
(28th) and Raul (52nd) scoring.
