My standard game review is coming tomorrow, but i wanted to get my comments on what happened to
Steve Zakuani down before MLS makes its ruling. This is a long post, so settle in. Anyone who
watched the game or any other MLS game this weekend has heard (or seen) what happened. In the 3rd
minute Brian Mullan went in two-footed on Steve Zakuani and got his leg, breaking the tibia and
fibula (both lower leg bones).
This weekend we have a soccer Saturday in South Florida.
It begins at 7:30 pm when the Fort Lauderdale Strikers play against the Puerto Rico Islanders at
the Mecca of South Florida soccer, Lockhart Stadium.
The Strikers are on a 5 game undefeated streak and look to extend that at home against an Islanders
team that come off a 3-1 victory over the Atlanta Silverbacks.

Mexico's U17 squad will play Uruguay in the Final of the FIFA U17 World Cup at the Aztec Stadium
on Sunday and what a burnburner that proposes to be. Enthusiasm has been building throughout this
tournament for the host country and after a dramatic 3-2 win over heavy favorites Germany in the
semi- final, a full house at the famous arena is expected.

Over the years we have learned that are readers are savvy consumers of soccer media who use
multiple sources to check soccer news, keep in touch with other fans and follow trends in the
beautiful game. Because a large part of what we cover is the soccer media, we thought it was time
for the first Footiebusiness poll since 2009.
It took me too long, but I cracked open Long Range Goals, by Beau Dure last night. An inability
to sleep combined with strong writing meant that I also finished the book. Dure you may know if you
read USAToday, frequent SB Nation's MMA blogs or read ESPNw, or if really dedicated you read his
blog (SportsMyriad).
For the lazy, BigSoccer users can now join the Fake Sigi social group for article updates and
discussion.
For a while now I've been thinking about the best way to promote this web site on BigSoccer.
Considering the large number of people on that site who are potentially interested in the things I
have to say, a Fake Sigi presence has always seemed to me like a "Good Thing.
Get off my lawn. Nice goal call, though. Via Bigsoccer.
In other news, since when has Kyle Martino joined Bradley's staff as box diving coach?

Nice little podcast at BigSoccer with Bill Archer talking about the New York Cosmos shenanigans.
As succinct a summation of the issues in debate format as you'll find.

With our New York Red Bulls about to escape the ice and snow for the sunny climes of Cancun and
Guadalajara as they begin their pre-season training in earnest, we thought we'd take a moment to
look at the roster.
The brief version of the roster regulations:
- 30-man roster. Slots 1-20 count against the cap of $2,675,000.

We should know by sometime tonight or Saturday afternoon if US Soccer will reverse their decision
and sanction the NASL as the Second Division league in North America.
-The Fed had originally give the league provisional sanctioning last fall, then last month pulled
it.
Our good friend and Miami Ultras member Brian Corey has started a new MLS Meetup group with the
intention of catching big MLS games and tonight happens to be one of those days as Real Salt Lake
will attempt to be the first MLS team to win a Champions League Final. Come join us at Mickey
Byrnes tonight, Wednesday at 10 PM.
During "Off the Pitch" Sunday night in the closing of the program, Callum Williams made mention
that the game was Sasha Victorine's last game in the booth for a while. Today we got more of an
explanation as to what is happening. Victorine is gone from the booth and will take another
position in the organization.
So last night there was an afterparty in NYC for Steve Nash's Showdown in Chinatown. To my pleasure
and surprise, 30 Rock's Judah Friedlander was there and talking soccer. Dude was all high on the
Freddy Adu pass and Tim Howard's general badassness but thought overall the Yanks played poorly.
By the time home side Dunfermline reached the 18th minute today, they'd already suffered strikes
from Carlos Bocanegra and Maurice Edu. Half the damage done early, Rangers cruised home with a 4-0
win.I'll switch out for the usual video treatment later, but for now enjoy the GIF stylings of
magical BigSoccer ambassador Johan Derksen.
EA Sports appears to finally be taking MLS seriously, and teams like the Philadelphia Union have
benefited from the additional attention to detail that is seen in FIFA '12.
A Youtube user by the name of GetDougdOn has posted a video of nearly every league and the teams
within those leagues.
As surprising as it might seem, Sporting Kansas City can qualify for the playoffs this weekend. It
requires a win over San Jose on Saturday and some help, but it can be done.
First obviously, KC needs to get a win on the road against San Jose. They also need help from DC,
Houston, and Vancouver.
We continue our comprehensive coverage of American soccer culture with our series "Better Know a
Supporters Group," just like Steven Colbert's "Better Know a District" from "The Colbert
Report".
Our goal: to feature each of the MLS teams' supporters groups. We've sent e-mails to each and every
SG in Major League Soccer and soon you'll be able to check all what each is all about and what
awesomeness they have to contribute to our growing American soccer world.
