John Trask didn't need to read up on University of Wisconsin men's soccer history before he interviewed for the position last week.

"They were asking me questions about, 'What do you really know about Wisconsin soccer?' I truly remember when Bill Reddan was the head coach and Jim (Launder) was the assistant," Trask said Wednesday, referring to the program's early years as a varsity team in the late 1970s and early '80s and recalling several Badgers of that era he played against in the Wisconsin State Major League.
