The January 2011 transfer window was a blockbuster one as Premier League teams spent over £210
MILLION on transfers. Amongst the big spenders were Chelsea (David Luiz £21.4m, Fernando Torres
£50m), Liverpool (Andy Carroll £35m, Luis Suarez £22.8m) and Aston Villa (Darren Bent £18m,
Jean Makoun £6m).
This year's Premier League season has been crazy.
From watching the budgeting minnows defy the odds against the high-spending sharks, to seeing
teams absolutely demolish each other in such a ruthless and extraordinary fashion, this year's
campaign has been insanely unpredictable. And despite being on the wrong end of these 'memorable'
matches sometimes, I think it's been a highly entertaining season.
Nicolas Anelka is swimming in dough on the shores of Shanghai. Will Didier Drogba be joining him
before the end of the January transfer window?
Quite possibly, if you ask the Shenhua PR department.
Chinese connection?
As you know, Drogba has rejected a one-year contract extension from Chelsea in search of at
least a two-year deal.

"Would it be a risk to play defensively?" the reporter asked Kenny Dalglish as Liverpool
prepared to face Manchester City at Anfield in the second leg of the League Cup semi-finals.
The jewel in Florence's crown; Stevan Jovetic is being targeted by Premiership big spenders,
Chelsea FC. But what who are the London club looking to sign? Elegance and artistry are two words
which best define Jovetic. Leading Fiorentina's forward line this season, he has sparkled and shown
why he is to be considered one of Europe's best players.

You figure it had to happen sooner or later.
Robin van Persie has reportedly caught the attention of big spenders, Manchester City. Manager
Roberto Mancini told the press that he was keen on the Dutchman, who is enjoying the best season of
his career at Arsenal with 32 goals in all competitions.
The red half of Manchester are finally happier than the blue half, perhaps for the first time in
the 2011/2012 season. United reaching the top of the table has inevitably sparked debates and media
coverage all over the football world. The point I'm making in this post is that we're so used to
united topping the table that the achievement of them finally overtaking big-spenders Man City has
been completely overshadowed and even ignored.

Time to let the cat out of the bag: a second eBook may soon be on the way. After the modest
success of "An Illustrated Guide" and extensive talks with Erik Ebeling, the artist from said
guide, I have decided to try and tackle a much more daunting topic: the first 100 years of history
of Real Madrid & Barcelona.
