LA Galaxy and U.S.A Captain Landon Donovan has admitted his desire for a permanent move
to the EPL. Donovan who was on-loan at Everton last season says he would love to join
Everton on a permanent basis but the Toffees face stiff opposition from big spenders Manchester
City who also are looking to bring the striker to Eastlands.
The January 2010 transfer window is now closed in England. It was a much quieter window than in
January of 2009, when Premier League teams spent a record £178 MILLION in that transfer window. We
will continually update this as the last transfers get processed by the Premier League.

Chelsea eye £34 million bid for Gonzalo Higuain if Fernando Torres bid fails
Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign the exciting Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain
for €40 million (£34 million) as they look to strengthen their squad this summer.

The Premier League club are now weighing up whether to bid for the powerful Argentine
international should their attempts to sign Fernando Torres fail.
After handing out mid-term reports to the first half of the Premier League class, Marshall Norbal
returns to grade the rest of the class:
Liverpool
Underachieving again, as the team that flatters to deceive the most in the Premier League. After a
very good 08-09 season (which they should have won the league) Liverpool's expectations were high
and have proven unrealistic.
Barring a flood of deals in the last couple of days, this will go down as one of the quietest
transfer windows in recent years. So far there have been very few actual sales with the majority of
deals being short-term loan stints with options to buy later. The biggest deals I've seen announced
have been in the £3m range, which is far cry from last January.
Manchester City has spent a mind blowing amount of money over the last few seasons and the
record transfer fee club has 12 respectable players that need to be sold over the next month or the
side will be forced to place the contracted players on their list of inactive players due to a
new EPL rule that prohibits any players that are not on the 25 man roster as of September 1st
from playing for the squad for the rest of the year.
The arrival of the transfer deadline has led to a whole range of rumours springing up all over
the internet, TV and Radio, some with more substance than others.

The major story doing the rounds concerns Adam Johnson and a proposed move to Premier League big
spenders Manchester City.
Cornella-El Prat is the newest stadium in all of La Liga and perhaps the newest of all the
significant soccer stadiums in all of the world. It is the brand new home of Espanyol and the
eigth home that Espanyol has had total which must be an La Liga record. Espanyol was solid
last season with a tenth place finish it was also their fifteenth straight year on the top level of
Spanish football.
Despite their reputation as big spenders Chelsea have been relatively quiet on the transfer
front for three seasons now. Just this summer the likes of Michael Ballack and Joe Cole have been
ushered out whilst Deco appears to be leaving too. Only Yossi Benayoun has been brought in. It
appears the team that won the Premiership in the last campaign, and was so close in the previous
three seasons to that, is going to be trusted again.
Over the years, Harry Redknapp has acquired a strong reputation as one of the most ambitious
managers in the game today. Therefore, it came as no surprise when he led Tottenham Hotspur past
big spenders Manchester City in the battle to qualify for the UEFA Champions League last
season.
Now that the Spurs are in Europe's most elite club competition, Redknapp is aiming even
higher.
A groin pain. If you cannot adduct, clubs will not abduct.
He did wear a LFC scarf at the World Cup, which really does not mean much. But the reason why he
will stay is because at this point he is an injury risk. He might have a "beef with the
club" but who is buying - at this point the market for injured players even one as talented as
Torres is small.
The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the
opinions and more....
So here is the latest from around the web on Wednesday 4th August 2010 including:
Ramires set for medical today?, Ancelotti confirms another player to join before the
transfer window shuts, Ancelotti also talks up City this season, Scott Sinclair off
on loan again and focus now turns to Hamburg as we prepare for todays game with one eye on
Wembley.
Korean football fans have a two-tier season. Not only does the K-League run from the end of
February to the beginning of December, the European season and the overseas Taeguk Warriors, just
recovered from the World Cup, are just getting started.
The best-known of these is, of course, Park Ji-sung.
According to reports scoured across the Internet, Spurs boy wonder Gareth Bale is the subject of
a potential Real Madrid transfer bid this January. Should the Spanish giants make a move for the
Welsh winger, Tottenham and Harry Redknapp would be foolish to let their young prized possession
leave White Hart Lane regardless of the transfer fee involved.

Ever since Martin Jol led the Spurs to a fifth-place finish in back-to-back seasons during his
time at White Hart Lane, rumors for the lack of a better term started doing the rounds that
Tottenham was about to become the premier team of North London.
The German Bundesliga has always been a strong league. However, in recent years, it hasn't been
able to compete with the big spenders in the English Premier League, La Liga and Serie A.
Despite this, over the summer, German clubs have attracted some of Europe's big names, and many
young talented prospects play in Germany.
In a surprising development, the Washington Nationals have inked Jayson Werth to a seven-year,
$126 million deal. It's surprising that the Nationals opened up their wallet and it's also
surprising that Werth decided to sign with a team that isn't a contender. The Philadelphia Phillies
were interested in re-signing him and a number of other teams, including the Boston Red Sox, wanted
to sign.
