Sunday afternoon saw United grab a point at Stamford Bridge right from the jaws of defeat. Most
people saw this as a point gained, rather than two lost given the circumstances. With 24 matches
played and both Manchester teams locked at the top of the league, the stakes couldn't be higher.
The big games are [.
For those of you not lucky enough to have season tickets this year then you'll probably be
relying on nabbing a few of these single game tickets. Luckily, you now have plenty of time to
request February 28th off from work and get in line nice and early to ensure that you're able to
attend at least a few games.
The English Premier League is widely regarded as the most exciting League across the globe but
in many cases, big games between the top clubs turn out to be dull affairs with both teams
canceling each other out, but today, at Stamford Bridge, Man Utd and Chelsea provided one of the
truly memorable classic games that ended in a pulsating 3-3 draw.
It's high time again for another hat trick and QOTD. Today's piece will focus a bit more on the
USMNT as a couple of big games loom tonight and this weekend. One of the matchups includes two
American soccer icons in a clash this weekend, which should make for must watch TV. Also follow
after the break to have your say in the QOTD.
It's been such a flat start to the week after Sunday's defeat which was hard to take, followed
by current Spurs headlines which are dominated by Harry's court case.
The season goes on however and at the club, Joe Jordan and Jermain Defoe are leading the voices
that are ‘taking the positives' out of Sunday's game.
| Subscribe: Predictions On this week's predictions we have games from around the world including
the Bundesliga, the African Nations Cup curtain raiser, big games in the Premier League, as well as
a crunch tie in Italy. You can listen to Damon and Damian discussing their predictions on this
week's show.
West Bromwich Albion have been struggling near to the wrong end of the table and know the next few
weeks could define whether they are safe in mid-table or battling Premier League relegation in the
closing stages of the season.
Roy Hodgson's men are three places above the dreaded bottom three but do have the safety of a
six-point cushion between them in 15th and Bolton in 18th.
With the departure of Cesc and Nasri, no matter what you think of the players, it's obvious that
our goals from the midfield area have reduced. Whether this be down to the injury of Wilshire, or
the lack of width provided by the full backs, I don't know. But, with Arshavin looking increasingly
on his way out, what has become clear is that Arsenal are in need of an attacking midfielder/wide
player who can create and score goals in equal measure.

Goal: Craig Bellamy insists playing in big games such as League Cup semi-final with
Manchester City is why he joined Liverpool
The Welshman says he will respect his former club and is grateful he had the chance to play for
them as he prepares to exact revenge for 3-0 league defeat last week

Paul Dickov insists his Oldham side will look to attack when they chase an FA Cup upset against
Liverpool on Friday night.
A second-round replay victory over Southend at Boundary Park in December booked a mouthwatering
trip to face Kenny Dalglish's side for the Latics, who currently lie 14th in League One.
On this week's predictions we feature some of the big games from the FA Cup including the
Manchester derby, as well as the Catalan derby and the Carling Cup semi-final.
Alan Pardew seems to just love these big games at St. James' Park like last night, when the
crowd is at its capacity, and the Geordie fans are singing their heads off from the very
first whistle. Yohan Cabaye scored Newcastle's second goal just after half time It was a big big
night for Newcastle fans everywhere, as Newcastle beat Manchester United 3-0 with two
wonderful goals [.
Let's face it - we all love SZCZ. Since Jens was dropped in 2007 (in my opinion ill-advisedly)
we've had to put up with some of the less convincing goalkeepers in Arsenal's history, namely
Almunia, Fabianski and Mannone.
It wasn't all bad in the early going for Liverpool. The club was comfortably in the top ten in
spite of the various struggles and unanswered questions, and there was a win in the derby over
Everton despite Dirk Kuyt's first ever penalty miss for Liverpool to boost spirits. It might not
have been the start fans had been hoping for after the way the previous season had ended, but it
also wasn't the end of the world.
On this week's predictions we feature some of the big games from the Premier League's New Year
fixtures.
I have said it's no surprise that we drew 1-1 in this one really based on our performances of late.
We pick ourselves up for the big games like Newcastle, City and Spurs in the league but for some
reason our performances suffer against the likes of Wigan and now Fulham!. In saying that I mean no
disrespect to both those sides and to Fulham especially as I don't think Fulham fans thought they
would come away with anything after being stuffed 5-0 at home to United.
Tottenham Hotspurs' bid in acquiring points in the hectic Premier League during this Holiday
period gets a massive boost after the latest report confirmed that one of their most important
players, Rafael Van der Vaart, is fit enough to play.
Van der Vaart picked up an injury during Spurs latest match against Chelsea and there were fears
that he might be out for quite a while but medical checked up revealed a positive outcome
instead.
It's a simple question isn't it. The reality is that we need our best side out tonight to win this
one. We could say a week or so ago that we knew what our best side was based on current form but
it's amazing what one poor performance does!
I asked a couple of questions to you all yesterday about the game.
It's a fact that I think will divide opinion amongst Chelsea fans, Spurs fans and even football
neutrals right now. Chelsea had a hoodoo over Spurs for years and called their patch "three point
lane" but you have to admit we can't call it that anymore can we.
Spurs (no matter what your bias is) have done great under Harry Redknapp considering that some of
them didn't want him!
People frequenting this small online settlement will be well-aware that I get jittery as fuck
when big games come along. Arsenal have proved themselves to be flaccid and impotent on many
occasions in the past; slipping, sliding, making elementary mistakes and prompting the inception of
cringe-worthy wordplay jokes, perennially fuelling my jitters in the process.
Real Madrid will go into the Spanish winter break with a three-point advantage over Barcelona
after a 6-2 win at Sevilla.
With Barça away in Japan playing in the FIFA Club World Cup duty, José Mourinho's side took
full advantage and went in front through Cristiano Ronaldo. José Callejón doubled the lead on 37
minutes, with Ronaldo's spectacular strike making it 3-0.

Sporting KC has done well so far this offseason. (Getty Images)
Well, it is mid-December. The Christmas trees are up and the snow is falling in some places
around the country. The Re-Entry Drafts have come and gone for the 19 MLS clubs. Teams are
constantly making moves this offseason at times more moves than it seems like ever before.
On this week's predictions we feature the final of the Club World Cup, some big games from Italy,
Spain and a top of the table clash from London.
The Club World Cup kicks off in Tokyo, there is El Clásico in La Liga and some big games in
England, France and Italy on this week's languagecaster predictions.
Chelsea winger Juan Mata is convinced that his side can ride the momentum of two huge wins to
become the first team that beats Manchester City in the Barclays Premier League this season.
Mata and his teammates won their Champions League group against all odds with a resounding 3-0
win over Valencia last night at Stamford Bridge, which is also the venue where they will host City
on Monday.
Chelsea took another massive step forward in my eyes last night and received the added bonus with
news that Genk had held Bayer to a draw - meaning we topped our group and avoided a nightmare draw
in the next round!.
We had wondered if we could build on the Newcastle performance and result, wondered if we could
step up on the biggest night of our season so far to ensure that we qualified for the next stages
of the Champions League and wondered if by leaving Frank Lampard on the bench - AVB had made a big
mistake.
Liverpool at home for FA Cup 3rd Round
LIVERPOOL will begin their 2012 FA Cup campaign with a home match against either Southend
United and Oldham Athletic. League Two Southend drew 1-1 at home to Oldham Athletic yesterday,
matching their club-record 17 match unbeaten run, and now face a trip to League One Oldham's
Boundary Park for the 2nd round replay.
I feel for Chelsea fans who yet again had to endure another loss 2-0 home loss to Liverpool last
night. I mean the first loss although hard to accept was a bit understandable, however, suffering a
similar loss with an identical scoreline to the same team in less than 2 weeks is simply
unacceptable.
It's been a long week hasn't it. Two defeats, negative press and immense pressure now being put on
our manager and our players.
I have discussed everything with you the Chelsea fans that come and visit my blog each day from
whether or not we will finish in the top four this season, AVB adopting a back to basics and defend
first approach to games, the addition of TWO defenders in January, giving AVB time to take this
club forward, Anelka being World Class but understated, David Luiz being backed by AVB, AVB must
now pick his best eleven players and stick with them and the idea of playing Juan Mata through the
middle!
I think we are all agreed on that fact that this is a must win game for Chelsea. Not only so that
we can take a step into the next round but for the confidence of the team. AVB has stated that the
players need to keep believing and working hard to get back to winning ways and if we can get the
right result tonight, it will give us confidence heading into the three big games in the Premier
League.
A gleaming new National Stadium has just been erected in Warsaw, Poland. It stands in a historic
spot, on the former grounds of Stadion Dziesięciolecia ("Tenth Anniversary Stadium", named for ten
years of Poland's new political state), built from the rubble left by the 1944 Warsaw Uprising and

Clarke: No Surprise at Maxi Impact
Liverpool assistant manager Steve Clarke believes Maxi Rodriguez' fine display against Chelsea
on Sunday came as no surprise to those who have watched the player in training. Having been ousted
from the squad by some of Kenny Dalglish's summer signings, Maxi has worked hard to force his way
back into the manager's thinking, and Clarke believes the Argentine deserves all the praise he gets
for managing to do so.
CARSON, Calif. -- Funny thing about the prediction and prognostication game when it comes to big
games:
It's a bit like the weather; stick around long enough, and the prevailing winds will change.
Earlier this week, conventional wisdom said Sunday's biggie inside the Home Depot Center would
be an old-fashioned romp-and-stomp.
On this week's predictions we feature big games form Spain, England, Germany, the Athens derby, as
well as the MLS Cup Final.

Agony of defeat: Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Saunders concedes the winning goal in the 2009 MLS
Cup in Seattle (Getty Images).
If there is cause for worry for Galaxy fans ahead of Sunday's MLS Cup showdown between the
heavily favored hosts and the Houston Dynamo, it's that LA are overwhelming favorites.
Back on Friday, the FA confirmed that they have charged AVB for his comments made after our defeat
at Loftus Road against QPR. The statement from the FA said:
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has been charged with improper conduct by The FA,
following media comments he made about the match official after his side's match at Queens Park
Rangers on 23 October 2011.
Newcastle United's fine form in the premier league this season continues with another important
victory on the weekend, when they edged Everton 2-1 at St. James Park.
The three points not only puts them on third place with 25 points but also lifted the club's
confidence as although tough schedule awaits them after the International break, manager, Alan
Pardew, ensures that his player are more than ready to face the likes of Manchester City,
Manchester United and also Chelsea.
