I can't tell you where this goal is from or who scored it (I think Mexico, but can't be any more
specific). All I can tell you for sure is: 1) It was Macrochip's Goal of the Day on Thursday, and
2) It's a bike/scissor from the edge of the area and therefore one of the best [...]

As we enter the knock out stages of Superliga 2008 let me state that while the intensity level
was as high for these matches last year the football has been much better this year. No offense to
anybody but an LA Galaxy side featuring Alan Gordon and Edson Buddle as starting forwards and an
injured David Beckham would not have advanced to the knock out stages of this year's
tournament.
Ever wonder how they make the movement in the video games look so realistic? Like this. This is
Toronto FC's Maurice Edu, performing a bicycle kick in a "motion capture" session for
FIFA Soccer 09. Cool, huh? (Photo: JEFF VINNICK/AFP/Getty Images)
I was skeptical when SuperLiga was first announced last year.
Did we really need yet another tournament clogging up the schedule?
Well, the quality of the soccer won me over last year, especially after it became clear the
Mexican teams involved were motivated and not just here on vacation.
Josh Wolff's nice bicycle kick goal against Chivas over the weekend is up for the Goal of the Week
honor. He's currently sitting in first place ahead of Marvell Wynne's goal for Toronto FC. Get your
votes here in for the bike.
Merseysiders, Everton FC, will visit DSG Park next month in an eagerly anticipated
friendly against the Colorado Rapids. I say eagerly anticipated but I wonder how
many people in Denver and surroundings are actually eagerly anticipating? I say this because I
can't seem to get an answer from the Rapids' ticket guys as to how many tickets have been sold for
the game on August 3.
The Samba Boys led 5-0 and held on for the win over Italy on Sunday.
So say goodbye to the half-time entertainment and bicycle-kick highlights on SportsCenter.
3 teams were in action today in Champions League qualifying matches. Juventus advance in 1-1 draw
Juventus was held to a 1-1 draw with Artmedia but advanced easily 5-1 on aggregate. Artmedia
jumped out to an early 1-0 lead off a beautiful goal from Branislav Fodrek in the 14th
minute. Watch the awesome bicycle kick: Juventus got the goal back in the 25th minute thanks
to a header by Amauri,
We looked good for long stretches but couldn't get that final goal (though the foul call certainly
didn't help) to pull back level with Chivas USA. After big wins for Real Salt Lake and Colorado
Rapids, the East isn't assured of five playoff teams anymore. Read the last sentence from the press
release to see how things stack up now.
Alright folks, for the third straight week we have a Wizards player nominated for the Sierra Mist
Goal of the Week award. This time, it was Josh Wolff's second-half bicycle kick that got the nod.
He's currently out in front in voting, ahead of that Toronto FC man Marvell Wynne. Let's keep him
there! For those who didn't read the post-game post, it was Wolffie's first bicycle kick in a
competitive match since he was 16.
The Good Fans at the Liverpool vs Wigan game were treated to a feast of exciting football with
another late come-from-behind victory for the Reds. However they also saw two great bicycle kick
goals by Zaki and Kuyt from Wigan and Liverpool respectively. Zaki's goal was a much cleaner strike
from further out, and therefore the [.
Taylor Twellman has been back in full training the past two days and could potentially be available
as a substitute this weekend. Though he may not be back at full speed after only two days, he
certainly showed some good signs, attempting a bicycle kick in a scrimmage between the first team
and reserve team and later scoring on a diving header in a drill.
No wonder why Fenerbahce did not look good in the Super League opening match!..
They had the CL in their minds!..
While Galatasaray lost out on the Europe's biggest tournamnet Fenerbahce surpases Last season
Turkcell super league Champions to reach the CL.
That is bad news for Galatasaray fans but,it is good news for Fenerbahce fans, becasue, their team
will be in the Champions League This season again.
Was magician David Copperfield in the house for the second half?
Despite a disappearing act worthy of a prime time special, Chivas USA hung grimly onto their
two-goal half time advantage and salvaged a crucial 2-1 victory, overcoming a pretty Josh Wolff
bicycle kick with 20 minutes to go.
First a little history, 23 weeks ago, I was still waiting on my son to arrive, Barrack Obama and
Hilary Clinton were still fighting for the Democratic presidential nomination, Hillcrest Road was
still scheduled to begin building in the summer, and the Wizards won their last road game. Who
would have thought that with only 1 road game left this season, that the Wizards only road win
would come in Chicago, a place they've notoriously had trouble winning at.
