Here is the wrap up for Jornada 3 of La Liga. I don't have much time to write wrap-ups for the

A few surprising deals did go through, but I'm sure some clubs lamented the (to them, untimely) end
of the transfer window, most notably Deportivo who were looking to get 3 more players and as far as
I know didn't succeed.
Frankly, based on their opening day performance, I can't blame Miguel Angel Lotina, but surely
somebody at that club realized the malaise there during the long months of the transfer window?
The Media wars that have been affecting Spanish League football this season intensified last night
over the broadcasting rights for the Real Madrid - Betis match. Two rival media companies:
Sogecable and Mediapro are currently in dispute over who has the right to show certain matches.
Sogecable maintains that that Mediapro must first accept a contract on joint football rights signed
by the two groups in 2006 and pay Sogecable a pending fine of around 70 million euros.
Sunday's loss at home to Atlético was the final straw for Manuel Ruíz de Lopera and the rest of
the Betis brass as they severed ties with coach Héctor Cúper. After their loss, Betis' relegation
battle becomes that much more complicated.
This was the final decision after an emergency meeting held by the club board of directors making
Cúper the third coach relieved of his duties this season in Spain.
