Alex Oxlade Chamberlain was a surprise call up to the England squad, this summer, after his limited
appearances in the Arsenal team, but there is no doubting that the kid has tremendous talent, and I
am sure he will prove that Roy Hodgson was right to take him to Euro 2012.
His call up really does cap an astonishing rise to stardom for the £12million signing from
Southampton, who only made his Gunners debut in August - in the 8-2 defeat to Manchester United.
Juventus defender, Giorgio Chiellini, insists that he will have recovered from a thigh injury in
time for the start of Euro 2012, but accepts that he will have to sit out the pre-tournament
friendlies against Luxembourg and Russia.
The 27-year-old sustained a right thigh strain in Juve's final game of the Serie A season, on 13th
May, and was told that he would be facing up to three weeks on the sidelines.
When Roy Hodgson came to selecting his strikers for the Euro 2012 England squad, it was probably
the easiest position to choose for, when looking at the whole squad.
There were question marks; chiefly, whether or not Wayne Rooney should have been included, given
that he will miss the first few qualifiers, due to suspension, but, since he had his ban reduced to
just the two games, it is a no brainer to take him.
Having recently been named as part of Roy Hodgson's back room team, Gary Neville has insisted that
he will be frank and honest with the players, promising not to shirk difficult discussions, if they
are needed.
The former Manchester United and England right back, who retired from playing in February 2011,
said: "I believe in honesty and, if a football player makes a mistake, he has potentially a billion
people watching it around the world, depending on what game it is.
The Manchester United squad have had an exhausting and emotionally-draining 2011-12 season, and
for some a well-deserved break is in the offing after a rigorous campaign. However, with the big
summer tournament just round the corner, a contingent of Sir Alex Ferguson's men will have little
rest before heading to Ukraine and Poland with their respective countries.
England manager, Roy Hodgson, has named his squad for this summer's European Championships in
Poland and Ukraine. Any fans hoping for surprise call-ups and omissions will have been sadly
disappointed.
The 23-man squad follows a familiar pattern, with the inclusion of Steven Gerrard, as captain, and
Chelsea favourites, Ashley Cole and John Terry, in defence, as well as club mate Frank Lampard in
midfield.
Having made a telling late contribution to Manchester City's Premiership win Mario Balotelli has
now been named in Italy's preliminary 32 man squad for Euro 2012.
City boss Roberto Mancini had previously indicated that his 21-year old compatriot would not
feature again in a sky-blue shirt after a series of disciplinary breaches including a recent red
card against Arsenal.
FC Barcelona medical team has confimred that Carles Puyol, the Barca Captain will be missing
this Summer's Euro 2012 due to a knee injury. Our Captain Caveman will most probably have to
undergo surgery when his national team colleagues will be trying to defend their title in Ukraine
and Poland.
Chelsea midfielder, Ramires, has insisted that he is confident of dumping Barcelona out of the
Champions League, when the Catalan giants welcome the Londoners to the Camp Nou for the second-leg
of their semi-final.
The Spaniards will go into the match needing to come back from a 1-0 defeat, if they are to reach
the final, and have a chance of defending their title.

Theo Walcott could be in danger of missing this summer's European Championships, after picking up a
season-ending hamstring injury in Arsenal's goalless draw against Chelsea.
The winger is now expected to miss the rest of The Gunners' domestic campaign. However, Arsene
Wenger has played down fears that Walcott could miss this summer's Euros, easing the minds of fans
discussing the development on Betfair.

Even more than a Real Madrid-Barcelona Champions League final, EURO 2012 is what every European
and football enthusiast is waiting for in the coming months. We are now exactly 10 weeks away from
this Summer's 2nd-greatest sporting event (for all the love I have for soccer, even I have to admit
that the Olympics come before the Euros) and on paper, Italy's path to qualification has been
nothing short of excellent.

Blue Square Bet Premier side Kettering Town are, like several other clubs of their stature,
flirting with a winding-up order at present after several months of financial hoo-doo that has seen
them fighting relegation, unable to pay their players and forced to leave former home
Rockingham Road and take up residency in former rivals Rushden & Diamonds' grave (the Diamonds went
under last summer) currently playing their home games, as they do, at Rushden's old Nene Park
ground.
Spain were peerless on their way to winning Euro 2008 and are quite rightly favourites this time
around after sweeping all before them in the years since.
Spain became only the second nation to emerge from the group with a 100 per cent record and win the
European Championship itself, and were the first side since Germany in 1996 to go through the
competition undefeated.
Liverpool's Ressies easily beat Sundeland's 5-1 at melwood this afternoon at Melwood.
Rodolfo Borell had the chance to pick Jay Spearing, Jonjo Flanagan and Sebastian Coates from the

Michael Laudrup has stepped down as manager of Mallorca after just over a year in charge of the
Spanish club.
The Dane has come under pressure recently after a poor string of results at the start of the new
Primera La Liga competition, but his side did beat Real Sociedad 2-1 on Sunday.
Laudrup's assistant Erik Larsen was dismissed by club owner Lorenzo Serra Ferrer on Monday evening,
after Larsen went public with his thoughts on Serra Ferrer.

Liverpool's captain Steven Gerrard looks on course to return to captain his side this weekend
against West Brom. The midfielder has been out of action for since the beginning of March after
undergoing ankle surgery, but could return to training this week. Gerrard was absent from England's
2-0 victory over Wales at the weekend but Liverpool will be boosted by their captain's early return
should it happen.
We have only ever utilised Betfair for peripheral staking enhancement and hedging - all Real
positions go through our broker.
Last year we decided to undertake a little experiment.
We placed a whole series of winning positions but at very low stakes to see what would be the
response of the London company to winning accounts.

Now that would scupper the entire tactical structure of the cavemen who visit the Home of
Football tonight.
On a serious note, tonight is bloody huge, massive... a monsterous game of football...
FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE CUP FINAL.
For me, and many Gooners, the ultimate prize is to be the Champions of your country, to
the rule the roost in your homeland.
Didier Drogba has spent the last few seasons in England causing Arsenal defenders to have restless
nights, as well as causing the rest of the Premier League to stand back and admire the absolutely
phenomenal talents that he has demonstrated during his time in the Premier League.
However, although Drogba started the season causing defences no end of problems, and looked
absolutely certain to end the season with the golden boot, he has since turned into a man who has
failed to do anything except look like a player who is a mere shadow of his former self.

Does a match of such magnitude end any better?
I will admit at around the 75 minute mark, I had given up on any chance of a win... a draw was a
maybe... however it seemed we had blown our early chances, including a cracking chance for Robin in
the opening minutes, after a delightful chipped through pass from Cesc.
Tonight's game has never been too far away in every gooner's minds eye since the draw was made
last December in Nyon, Switzerland.
There is no point in making far reaching rally calls..... my take is to sit back and hopefully
enjoy a festival of Total Football, played out by the two purest footballing sides on earth.

Roman Abramovich may have done the biggest favour to all connected with Arsenal Football Club
this January transfer window.
By spending £50M on Fernando Torres, a player who was woeful at the World Cup and unwanted by
Barca or Real, the Russian oligarch has priced Cesc out of the reach of Barcelona for at least a
couple of seasons.
A pearler missed from Wenger's presser yesterday afternoon.
"Arshavin will come back after a breather for a few games and be sharper"
Having played both cup games in the last 7 days, and played very much below-par, our little
Russian wide man appears to be getting the bench for a week or so.
