Anyone taking a bet at the start of the season would not have been able to predict how this
would all end up. Manchester City and Manchester United kissed goodbye to the Champions League this
season, and there were few mitigating factors that they could cite as a defence. Manchester United
can point to their injury list and Manchester City can invoke their inexperience, but ultimately
both clubs have resources that dwarf almost all others in Europe.
Following the news last week that Jack Wilshere was so sick of Spurs fans tweeting him about us
being above Arsenal in the league, he put three grand of his own (pocket) money on a bet with Spurs
fans that Arsenal would finish ahead of Spurs. If they did, Spurs fans would have to send £1 to a
charity he supports.

Frei and Streller put the hammer to Man U and the Red Devils are knocked out of the CL in the
quarters. Ouch. Guess the RAF time just didn't go United's way tonight. Hope you didn't bet on them
to win it all. At least Man U can now focus on winning the League. What? They're in a close 2nd
with Spurs catching up?

The big winners in our Premier League bet of the week this week are Norwich. With Newcastle having
Coloccini, Taylor, Guthrie, Marveaux and Tiote out, their centre backs could be Danny Simpson and
James Perch. The Canaries at odds of 2.5 at a ground where they have beaten Sunderland, Swansea and
QPR seems generous.
After winning an impressive £156 last week from our £55 stake, we look to again prize profit out
of the hands of the bookies. First bet concerns the Premier League, and backs Blackburn to win
consecutive home games for the first time in 46 years, or at least since Steve Kean took charge.

As we draw closer to the 2012 MLS Draft, Major League Soccer is moving closer and closer to

When the two Manchester clubs were drawn together in the FA Cup third round, it opened the door
to other clubs with aspirations of lifting the famous old trophy.
One of the best two sides in England at this present time will be out of the FA Cup and that
opens the competition up to the rest.
On the pitch, Kettering Town have picked up a little of late. Two consecutive draws have lifted
them just out of the relegation places in the Blue Square Bet Premier and, even though the club's
transfer embargo remains in place, they even managed a full substitutes bench their match against

For the second part of our Non-League Videos Of The Week, we have two matches from the Blue
Square Bet Premier Division. At the top of the table, Wrexham are continuing to hold Fleetwood Town
at bay and, while Fleetwood had a Lancashire derby match at home against third placed Southport on
Boxing Day, Wrexham, who are now owned by their supporters, made the relatively short trip to
Shropshire to play another supporter-owned team, AFC Telford United, and over four thousand people
turned out at New Bucks Head for the match.
