Mesut Ozil. We could just fold him up and pop him our pocket, couldn't you? (Getty Images/Daylife)
It's been a hell of a year for Mesut Ozil. A debut World Cup appearance in which he terrorised
defences and humiliated England (a pastime that seems to be catching on, we note.) A big money
signing for Real Madrid.
While the transfer window is far from open, the fact is that play is done in many European
leagues and contracts are coming to an end. With the new DP rules that allow up to 3 on a given MLS
side, and the impending arrival of Blaise nKufo the Sounders are obviously going to be looking to
improve on their side on July 15th.
The club have confirmed that Emmanuel Adebayor is unhurt following the machine-gun attack on the
Togo team bus earlier today:
Manchester City can confirm that striker Emmanuel Adebayor is uninjured after this afternoon's
attack on the Togo team bus in Angola.
Club officials have spoken with Adebayor and though shaken by the terrible events, he is
unharmed.
If you haven't heard about JCR's recent transfer, where have you been? In the words of the
club: Barnsley winger Jamal Cambpell-Ryce is set to complete a a permanent move to Bristol City
after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee And he can go with, I'm sure, the best wishes
of every Barnsley fan around.
It is with regret that I have made a decision to shutdown Avenell Road, I have been thinking
about doing this for a few months now, there are probably hundreds of reasons why I have come to
this decision the main one being a selfish one, I honestly don't have the spare time to dedicate to
the site that it deserves.
Our best wishes go out to Vela's Welsh teammate Aaron Ramsey, who is currently in hospital
following a malicious challenge by Stoke City defenseman Ryan Shawcross this evening at the
Britannia Stadium. The 19 years old Welsh teenager has made an significant impact to broke into the
Arsenal line-up recently, but once again after the horrific break from Eduardo da Silva 2 years ago
another Arsenal player has suffered a horrific Leg brake.

Our cup runneth over with 'baller birthdays of late, the latest celebrants being Roma's Philippe
Mexes (30th) and Everton's Mikel Arteta (26th).
Having not invaded anyone's personal space in either of these two cases, we would simply like to
offer our best wishes and advice to both of these boys on how to get more coverage in the Kickette
pages.
After hearing the massively disappointing news that you face another season in the non league
and have seemingly embarrassed yourself again with your reaction to being knocked out by a better
team in the Conference play-offs, I thought I would give you some reasons why it isn't all bad to
be a Luton fan.
Aaron Ramsey may need emergency surgery after it looks like he broke his leg in
yesterday's 3-1 victory at Stoke. The Arsenal midfielder was transferred to a hospital in
London.
"We know it's a bad injury we don't know how long he will be out but it's certainly long term,"
Wenger said.
Yesterday, United States President Barack Obama officially bestowed his best wishes upon the U.S.
Men's National Team who in a few days will make their journey to South Africa in an attempt to show
just how far American soccer has come. "I just want to say how incredibly proud we are of the
team," Obama [.
Former NBA player Manute Bol passed away on Saturday at 47. The 7-foot-7 Sudanese shot blocker
had a 10-year NBA career, but it was his humanitarian work in Africa where he made his mark. Bol
donated millions of dollars to freedom fighters and children's charities in his homeland, building
schools and hospitals.
By Juan Ruiz - Advantageously, with a blown call on a hard foul to our British defender by the fine
officiating crew that showed up on Sat (6/26) night; The Aztexs' Edward Johnson took the
opportunity and fired a shot past a diving Patterson and opened the scoring for the game.
Of course, after the scoring had been rendered official, the ref nonchalantly pranced over to our
downed Defender to see what had happened to him.
Finally one of the most drawn out transfer sagas of the summer has been completed, and it's one
that Villa fans can be pretty pleased about. James Milner has completed his move to Manchester City
for £18 million plus Stephen Ireland. With Ireland being valued close to £8 million it takes the
overall total of the deal to around the £26 million mark.
Wolves mananger Mick McCarthy has revealed that Irish striker Andy Keogh is to join Cardiff
City.
McCarthy left the Dublin born reland international out of his side's 2-1 Carling Cup win over
Southend on Tuesday so the player is not cup-tied.
"It's a racing certainty that Andy will be going to Cardiff," said McCarthy.
There aren't a lot of details on this yet, but there is terrible news out of Honduras. A
recreational football pitch in San Pedro Sula, northern Honduras was the scene of a deadly shooting
today, with a total of 14 people killed. It is believed that one or more of the players were
targeted, but both players and spectators were among the dead.
Over the past few weeks on his Saturday morning show on Radio 5 Live, it's been growing
increasingly apparent that Danny Baker's illness-enforced absences were probably for something a
little more serious than anyone had been hoped, but that doesn't make the confirmation of them any
more numbing or unpleasant.

Sadly, we can't accessorize the news that Fernando Torres' lovely wife Olalla has gone into
labour by publishing a photo of their gorgeous first born child, Nora. T'would seem Mr. Torres has
lawyers that are a tad touchy about his children being shown on our website.
Never mind, just do as we do: imagine a baby boy being brought forth into the world cuter than a
dozen wide-eyed fluffy bunnies wrapped in snuggles with lashings of pixie dust combined with
everything here and you'll be 1/100th of the way there.
