This week's Video Of The Week takes us back to the race for the Second Division title from the
1978/79 season and features three matches from an episode of London Weekend Television's "The Big
Match", presented as ever by Brian Moore. The first match is between from Selhurst Park and is
between Crystal Palace and Notts County, the second match is from The Goldstone Ground and is
between Brighton & Hove Albion and Blackburn Rovers (about whom Moore says, "they've already been
relegated to the Third Division, so at least they'll be relaxed) and the final match is from Roker
Park, and is between Sunderland and Cardiff City.

I was in a pub in Ã…rhus, casually, and started watching the Premier League match between
Sunderland and Liverpool. Not long into the match, saw one of the strangest goals I have seen: Glen
Johnson shot on goal for Sunderland, and a beach ball that had been thrown onto the pitch got in
the way of the ball, changing its trajectory into Liverpool's goal.

Dynamo, it's time to test your mettle. Your final two regular season opponents have also
clinched invitations to the postseason. So, knowing that win or lose you'll still be in the dance,
does that alter your mindset? Will you be reserved to rest or do you push for custody of the
coveted home-field advantage?

So many optimism before the game, so many positive comments on our young players coming of age.
But we had to wait for today to judge and unfortunately, many will be asking the same questions
which were asked last season.
Until the 60th minute, you can say we didn't deserve to lose as we could have easily been 0-2
up, but if Almunia decides to kill all the good that was done since then, I'm afraid questions
should be asked on our players and not on the referee or Rooney.

Earlier we opened up the pregame analysis with a look at the defensive five in Bruce Arena's
current 4-1-3-2 system. Those five have been quite effective defensively, limiting their opposition
to the second fewest shots and second best goals against average in the league. But this match is a
marquee crusher because of the Galaxy [.

With only days to go until the start of the Premier League, we take a whirlwind look through the
division (no-one likes long, lengthy previews) - count yourself lucky if your side gets more than a
couple of lines. We also have our final table prediction, which will no doubt come back to haunt
us. That will come in Part Two - here is Part One.

So this past week had a load of quality goals. I mean a load that were just great from top to
bottom. A couple could really be classed as goal of the year quality too (Landon Donvoan's comes to
mind). While I am sorting out the issues with the post I had for the weekend recap, here are the
week's best goals to get us started this week.

This is, plain and simple, one of the best goals you will ever see. Not that every own-half goal
isn't brilliant, it's just the pace, accuracy and trajectory with which this ball left from the
boot of Kazumasa Uesato is beyond perfect. Floating with such harmless intent until landing
casually in the goal, almost as [.

He is one goal from tying the Red Bulls all time regular season scoring record. He is the owner
of the best goals to games ratio of any long term player in franchise history. He practically took
the team on his back last season and dragged them just shy of the finishing line in the MLS Cup. To
say that Angel will rank as one of the greatest Metro Bulls ever is an understatement.

Hello everyone! Back again this week from "Across the Midwest Pitch."
Just want to give a shout out to the US Men's National Team for their Gold Cup performance and
silver medal. Obviously, the final wasn't the result we were looking for and not in the fashion we
were hoping (especially to Mexico), but looking at the big picture, everyone on the squad deserves
recognition for a successful tournament.

One year and three days after breaking her leg in the final U.S. tuneup game before the
Olympics, Abby Wambach scored her 100th international goal in the 1-0 U.S. win over Canada Sunday
in Rochester, N.Y.
It was Wambach's first U.S. goal since the injury. Forward Lauren Cheney, 21, who replaced
Wambach on the Olympic roster, came into the game in the 63rd minute and set up the historic goal
15 minutes later.

The new season is quickly approaching (many teams have started pre-season training) and I
realized that I never put up a best goals post for last season. So I searched the internet for
videos of that showed the "top 10 goals" but I realized that I didn't agree with any of the videos
because I felt that so many good goals were being left out.

Well, it was bigger before the Red Stars put their freaking mouths on the curb the past three

every other team in the league, they'll need the Sol to start churning out some losses.

The season is roughly 33% done, so I figured I'd go through and give out some awards from the first
bit of the 2009 season. Remember, these are based on form to date, not overall historic ability.
It's all for fun, so here we go...
33% MVP: Kasey Keller
Honourable Mention: Landon Donovan, Amado Guevara, Brian McBride
Is it any coincidence that both of Seattle's losses came in matches without Kasey Keller (well, he
was sent off about 25 minutes into their first loss).

There's not much to be said about last night's match itself... it was another annoying loss
resulting from the crap playing style of get-the-ball-to-Eto'o which simply does not work in any
way or form. It holds the team back, so they don't do well, and Eto'o doesn't even take advantage
of the chances given him.

Michael Owen injured, unfortunately a familiar scenario.
With his international career apparently over and his club's Premier League status under major
threat it begs the question, 'What will happen to Micheal Owen'?
On 30 June 1998, 18 year-old Michael Owen's name resonated around the football world after
scoring THAT goal for England against Argentina.

Last year, it was hard to argue against Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player in the world, but
this season many have given that award to Lionel Messi. In the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions

world.

After falling behind a goal in the 1st half, the Wizards fought back to earn a 1-1 tie Wednesday
night. Striker Josh Wolff converted his 3rd goal of the season, 33rd in a Wizards uniform and 65th
of his MLS career in the 52nd minute. That puts Wolff into a tie for the team lead this year, into
4th place on Kansas City's all-time goals list and 16th place on the MLS all-time goals list.
