Wilson, Wilson, Wilson Quite often footballers get stick for not beating the first man with their corners. This effort from Stoke midfielder Wilson Palacios would have loved to make it to the first man. After mix-up in the air Stoke City finally made to Istanbul late on Tuesday night!

It is only a matter of weeks since former Arsenal man Emmanuel Eboue was the subject of a rather heated debate on Pies over his reaction to being pelted with bottles during a Galatasaray game against Besiktas.

However, the rather unpredictable wing-back seems to have found his feet in the Turkish league, netting his second superb goal in two games for Gala.

While Fenerbahce and Galatasaray kept their place in the standing ,after Manisaspor could not win away match in Mersin, Besiktas captured the second place after they beat Orduspor, Monday night in Antalya, Turkey.

Turkish prosecutors investigating a match-fixing scandal in Turkey are expected to file indictments on Monday against 93 suspects, including the chairman of champions Fenerbahce.
More than 30 players and officials, including the Fenerbahce chairman, Aziz Yildirim, have been in jail pending trial, since the scandal broke over the summer, forcing the Turkish Football Federation to delay the start of the season by a month.

Fantastic result for Stoke City last night as a Kenwyne Jones' header ensured Stoke drew with Dynamo Kiev and progressed to the next stage of the Europa League for the first time in their history. If Stoke get a point at Besiktas in their last game they will finish atop their group.

"It's a great achievement to qualify from a group that I felt was the toughest of the 12 out there" said Tony Pulis.
