Spanish tabloid AS produced a life-size poster of Cristiano Ronaldo and I'll give you
one guess as to who really really liked it (hint: it's the guy pictured above, wearing a
fluorescent pink shirt, giant belt buckle, and giving a poster of himself the thumbs up).
Ronaldo was in the newsroom for an interview before traveling to Sweden for Portugal's next
World Cup Qualifier and, of course, the first question asked was what he thought of the poster:
"Absolutely fantastic.
And Ronaldo apparently loves this full-sized poster of himself. Check out his quote about the
poster I saw over at Dirty Tackle:
"Absolutely fantastic. I never imagined it was so big. The photo is from the
presentation day at the Bernabeu with the stands full. I have not forgotten what I experienced that
night.
Well so much for posting fewer Top 25 lists! Turns out so many things happened this weekend, most
of them flying in the face of our predictions, that we felt an update was in order. Here it is:
1. Real Madrid
Last ranking: 1
Record (wins-losses-ties, in all competition; two-leg match-ups count as one): 1-0-0
Results of note: None yet.
Alvaro Arbeloa has questioned his former club Liverpool's title credentials after selling Xabi
Alonso to Real Madrid this summer.
Arbeloa made the switch from Anfield to the Bernabeu in July, with Alonso following the same path
just a week later for a fee believed to be in the region of £28million.
The world's top club leagues returned to action after a two week layoff for international matches.
With one exception (you know who you are, Arsenal), the top clubs in our ranking won their games
this weekend. Ahead of the UEFA Champions League schedule, which kicks off this week, things are
about to get very interesting.
- Bolt visited the Bernabeu and met all his amigos, including Benzema, Greaseano, Kaka
and even Potter Perez. He got a super cool shirt with the number "958″ at the back.
Check out his autograph style- "Fr : Kaka". Hmmm, we can't spot Ricky's signature on the
shirt.
A step too far?
Apparently Tottenham made a last minute approach to Real Madrid to snap up one of the last
remaining Dutch footballers at Real Madrid, the one and only Ruud Van Nistlerooy, would such a move
have been tolerated or perhaps even welcomed by Liverpool to help ease their relative lack of
striking options?

So your favorite bros have probably done everything together except Ibiza because Kaka doesn't
drink or dance. Here they share their experiences about being a member of Perez's
second project!
ON THEIR PRESENTATION
Kaká: It was a fantastic experience.
Ready for Premier League return?
It's just as well, then, that some clubs prefer players at the other end of their
careers. Spurs, for example, who were turned down by Corinthians' Ronaldo this summer, are ready to
make a January move for O Fenomeno. Failing that 'Arry Redknapp fancies Manchester City's Benjani
or Real's Ruud van Nistelrooy.
With the UEFA Champions League season set to kick off this afternoon, it is time to start
thinking about who everybody sees lifting the trophy in May.
Will it be Barcelona in a repeat? Will Manchester United rebound from last year's final loss to
win a second title in three seasons?
Real Madrid secured a swashbuckling 5-2 away win against FC Zurich last night, with world record
signing Cristiano Ronaldo scoring two trademark freekicks. But their defensive frailties were again
evident, despite coach Manuel Pellegrini playing them down. Can this hastily assembled team of
superstars actually win the thing?
Rewind back to 2003 and you'll see that Jonathan Woodgate had everything. From critical acclaim
to a huge fan following, he had all the essentials required to go down in the Newcastle folklore as
one of the very best defenders of all time. However, the only obstacle that could stop him injuries
came into play very early into his career at St.
Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey paid a visit to the Bernabeu to watch the Real Madrid v
Tenerife game recently.
Here he is involved in a pose-off with Guti. We suspect they discussed how many open shirt
buttons were appropriate before the shot was taken.
Wondering why we didn't lead with the shot of Iker Casillas meeting McDreamy/MacSteamy/whatever
his web-moniker is?
Xabi talks about the moment he realised that his future may lay elsewhere and that he has
nothing but admiration and respect for the club and his former boss. I truly hope he does well at
Bernabeu and fingers crossed he has a bad game should we come up against him in the Champions
League.

Leonardo set for a Milan exit? (Clearly the image below is of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle
with the same name and not of the Brazilian football coach)
He has only been in the job for a few months, but Milan coach Leonardo may start feeling
the pressure to provide immediate results.
An Unsung Hero
When the full time whistle blew at Anfield on Saturday it brought to an end a gruelling two week
period for Burnley. The Premier League newcomers were beaten by Chelsea at the end of August and
then had an international break to mull over their defeat at the Bridge before their visit to
Liverpool two weeks later.
The Spanish Primera Division or La Liga continued with several matches this weekend including
Real Madrid v Tenerife and Malaga v FC Barcelona. Barcelona and Madrid are neck and neck so far as
both teams are 4-0-0 in the early season. Did both teams remain perfect? Here's a recap of both
their matches from Saturday, September 26, 2009 along with video highlights.
World football's hottest property Christiano Ronaldo got off to a flying start for his new club
with a debut goal on the opening day of La Liga. Real Madrid's most high profile "Galactico"
acquisition of the summer scored from the spot in a 3 - 2 opening day thriller against Deportivo to
make a dream start to his football career at his self confessed dream club.
The champagne is likely to find a different home but Yossi Benayoun is here to stay.
The teetotal midfielder deservedly left Anfield with the man of the match bubbly on Saturday after
running Burnley ragged.
Benayoun has had to battle to make the grade at Liverpool since he arrived from West Ham two years
ago.
It was a very busy week in topflight soccer, with Top 25 clubs playing twice, oftentimes against
each other. Remarkably, there were no major upsets to report, leaving the top 10 very much
unchanged. The second tier, however, was all shook up. Let's get to it:
1. Real Madrid
Last ranking: 1
Record (wins-losses-ties, in all competition; two-leg match-ups count as one): 4-0-0
Results of note: None yet.

Real Madrid spent plenty of money in the summer to rejuvenate their faltering team. After
falling way short of eventual Spanish and European Champions Barcelona last season Los Merengues
forked out huge transfer fees on the likes of Ballon d'Or winners Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka, while
Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso also completed big moves to the Spanish capital.
