The Italian Players' Union (AIC) has called off a strike after reaching an agreement with Serie
A's governing body over a collective contract. A temporary deal has been signed which will expire
at the end of the season.
The dispute has centred on two issues: the payment of a solidarity tax, the players have now
agreed to pay this, and the fate of players forced to train on their own when dropped.
Just a day after the players strike in Spain had been resolved and La Liag will begin its season
this weekend, comes news that the first week in Serie A has been called off due to players
strike.
The final attempt to reach a solution didn't happened until Friday, morning so the players
association decided to go on with their strike and refused to take on the pitch for the first week
of Serie A, a disappointing decision that according to the AIC's president, Dammiano Tomassi, could
get worse if agreement still can't be reached.
As we count down the days to the upcoming season, everyone is closely following the comings and
goings of the transfer window. For the next few weeks I will start many news posts with transfer
rumours. Followed by the main story the papers.
- Although Roma insist it's not going to happen, many news agencies continue to report they are

pubblico.

presidente del Palermo Zamparini, il quale ha detto in estrema sintesi, quando la Juventus era in
B, si stava meglio.
Despite a surge in managerial turmoil in the past two weeks - when Catania replaced Marco Giampaolo
with Diego Simeone and Brescia recalled Beppe Iachini after an unsuccessful seven-match spell under
Mario Beretta - Serie A chairmen, that notorious publicity-craving, trigger-happy bunch, have been
more restrained than in the past.
