szólj hozzá: Incredible Mark Bunn save 1. While you've all been busy stuffing your faces for a
few days, Blackburn boss Steve Kean might just have found a Bunn to save his bacon. Young keeper
Mark Bunn put in a great performance to earn a point at Liverpool. 2. It definitely wasn't a Blue
Christmas.
As a United fan, I must say life has been pretty dull of late. I don't remember the last time we
scored more than one goal in a game (of course I remember the 8-2. Shameless Plug
alert) or winning a game when we did go ahead and score 2 or 3. Not winning is definitely
a bummer, especially when it closely follows home-ground hammerings at the hands of the rich, evil
super-villain (also note lack of plug here).

It barely makes up for the chaotic week gone by where Manchester United were knocked out of the
Champions League, where Nemanja Vidic was ruled out for the season and where the author of this
post dropped the last piece of his birthday cake (Belgian chocolate, thanks for asking) on the
kitchen floor but the 4-1 win over Wolves goes some way in reassuring fans even those who have
had to experience an endless line of shoddy birthdays (naming no names) that things aren't totally
bad.

Leroy Lita had the chance to cover himself with glory against Villa last week. After superbly
turning the Villa defender, he dragged his shot just wide of the post. That sums up Swansea's
problem in their first Premiership season. This lack of a cutting edge may eventually drag the
Swans back into a relegation dogfight.

"It was a game of two halves, but the boys done good"
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has won the Bulgarian Player of the Year award after
polling 44% of the votes in the fans' poll. The 52-year-old, who occasionally plays for third tier
team Vitosha Bistritsa, comfortably beat Dimitar Berbatov into second place, with the Man Utd
striker polling 24% of the votes.
Dimitar Berbatov has been ruled out of Manchester United's massive Champions League trip to
Basle leaving Sir Alex Ferguson with limited options up front.
After Javier Hernandez suffered an ankle injury at Aston Villa on Saturday that is set to rule
him out for a month, Ferguson expressed the hope Berbatov would have recovered from his own ankle
problem to make the flight to Switzerland.
There are lots of things which are either rigged, not taken seriously or both in football. FIFA
qualifies in general. So too does the electoral process in Bulgaria. (The footballing variety,
obviously.)
The Bulgarian Player of the Year is something of a travshamockery, given that it's Berba's year
after year, and justifiably so.

Manchester 5-0 Wigan Athletic Premier League 26th December 2011
Wigan's recent resurgence took quite a mauling at Old Trafford on Boxing Day, with Dimitar
Berbatov giving Sir Alex Ferguson a timely reminder of his quality in front of goal with a superb
hat-trick.
In a day that saw Man City blanked, Man U crushed Wigan. "The Sulk" Berbatov nets a hat-trick while
Park Ji-Sing and Valencia also find the back of the net as the Red Devils run out 5-0 winners at

IT'S A BOXING DAY WRAP!
Nothing like receiving a brand new Cabbage Patch doll under your tree, eh
Ashley Cole?! Jokes aside (or not, depending on who you support!), Boxing Day
might as well have named itself 'The Day Of Draws' because five out of seven games
ended in dead heat.

To be honest I never understood what all the fuss was about Dimitar Berbatov leaving Manchester
United on a Bosman at the end of the season. United has an option to extend his contract by
12-months as was there any doubt that they would not exercise it?
So it was not a surprise today when Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed today that Manchester United
will be exercising the option
"We'll be exercising (the option to renew]," said the United boss.
United have enjoyed a terrific festive period and they are not surprisingly long odds-on at 1.14
to beat Premiership whipping boys Blackburn Rovers.
Sir Alex Ferguson's side come into this having registered back-to-back 5-0 wins over Fulham and
Wigan and it would come as no surprise to see them register a similar wide margin victory in this
clash.
Manchester United to end 2011 top of the table - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
The New Year weekend will most likely see Manchester United end 2011 at the top of the table
(albeit having played a game more than City), although City will be away to Sunderland on Sunday
and it should be business as usual at the top of the table for them come Monday morning.
