ESPN today significantly raised the bar today on the quality of Premier League coverage in the
United States. Their early kickoff between Manchester City and Chelsea was a turning point for a
few different reasons. First, the game featured one of the top English commentators, Ian Darke,
broadcasting exclusively to a U.
Yesterday was one of those nights, when you just plonk in front of the telly and thank the Lord
for some football, any football that is going on. Even more so for United fans, after the no-show
that we put up against Bolton on Sunday. As luck would have it, I got to catch a lot of football,
right from the highlights of the first round of the Champions League, moving on to games from the
Championship, and even a sprinkling of games from League 1 and League 2!
Valencia's winger Juan Mata is gutted that Ryan Giggs won't be playing in his team's game
against Manchester United on Wednesday.
When he was 13-years-old, United visited Valencia in a Champions League group game that ended in
a goalless draw and Mata remembers Giggs from that night.
"Well I was 13, went to school the Gesta 1 in Oviedo and trained in the Requexon
facilities," he said.
Dimitar Berbatov can play football, Alan Hutton still exists and football has downgraded Yom
Kippur.
After last nights defeat at Old Trafford against their most hated rivals Liverpool fans awoke
today to read some surprising news. Roy Hodgson, only appointed in July, is seemingly about to be
replaced by Martin O'Neill who left Aston Villa on the eve of the new season. The story is a little
shocking.

1) Dimitar Berbatov reminds me of Steve Nash.
Nobody would mistake Dimitar Berbatov for an inspirational league MVP. But a few years ago,
Phoenix Suns' point guard (and Tottenham supporter) Steve Nash was still in search of his first NBA
title.
Before moving on to our opponents in Friday night's game, there are a couple of England stories
to mention: Peter Crouch is out of the squad with a back injury and League 2 side
Shrewsbury Town will receive a £500,000 windfall 'if' Joe Hart
plays in goal tomorrow night: not bad at all for a team that had an average attendance last season
of about 5500 that's about £90 per punter at the Greenhous Meadow Stadium.
If BBC can do it, then so we can we....
5. Andy Carroll
In all honesty I thought Carroll would be out of his depth in the Premier League, but 4 goals in
three games proves otherwise. Time will tell if this is some early fluke or the sign of promise for
Newcastle and England.

If you don't mind me indulging in a spot of kneejerk-reaction action, then I have a rather
obvious and timely question for you: with Dimitar Berbatov playing so brilliantly,
and not just against Liverpool (he's been United's best player this season), and Wayne
Rooney blatantly out of sorts, in terms of his centre-forward play and also compared with
last season's feats (of course a below-par Rooney is still better than most players), are we
witness to the moment when Berba assumes the role of Fergie's No.
Dimitar Berbatov silenced all critics (including myself) in Sundays clash against Liverpool,
being the first and only player to score a hat-trick in the north-west derby since the inception of
the Premier League.
This was the second "top 4″ fixture of the year, although I find it hard to consider Liverpool
a top 4 club after last years disappointing performance, and this years horrendous start.
Liverpool may have suffered another stuttering first half on Sunday, this time at Old Trafford,
eventually losing the game 6 minutes from time but any kind of defining moment it is not.
Sir Alex Ferguson may have just started a one man crusade to change the dictionary definition of
Berbatov from "lazy" and "flop" to "genius" since his arrival at the club (2 years on), following
90 minutes of football against their north west arrivals but outside of pride, right now, the
result means very little.

Sunday, 26th September 2010
Kick Off : 12:00 BST
Venue : Reebok Stadium, Bolton – England
The English Premier League match between Bolton Wanderers and Man United will take place at the
Reebok Stadium on Sunday 26th September 2010, kick-off is set for 12:00 PM.
Manchester United come away from the Reebok Stadium with just a point today, after a
disappointing performance against Bolton Wanderers.
Nani's brilliant solo goal and substitute Michael Owen's headed effort saw United come from
behind twice in a game they dominated.
United dominated from the opening moments of the game but were behind after 6 minutes after poor
defending from Jonny Evans allowed Zat Knight to nip in front of him and steer Martin Petrov's
corner past Edwin Van der Sar.
Once more, it's a tale of Manchester United shooting themselves in the foot. Such talent oozing
from the walls of Old Trafford, but thus far this season, United have failed to produce the desired
results on the road. United are uncharacteristically chucking goals (and points) left and right
and that worrying trend shows no sign of abating, given the result at Bolton.
Dimitar Berbatov sings the praises of Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, whilst talking
of all the things he can learn at our great club.
"He is one of the most successful managers in the history of the game," Berbatov said. "I write
things down about the way we train and how he treats people.
So, we started writing a few posts during the week last week highlighting players that were
impressing in the mid-week fixtures and/or needed some attention / love heading into the weekend
fixtures. Think of it as sort of "early" Funny ... Continue reading →
UPDATE: According to Tottenham's official website, Tottenham
have confirmed that the club has reached an agreement with Real Madrid for
Rafael Van Der Vaart.

were not able to hand in the paperwork in time before the deadline due to technical reasons.
Rangers up! Lets test the young boys!
United play Rangers in a weeks' time, with the battle of Britain tag looming large. Even though
there is an assumed gap between the leagues the Old Firm in general have put on a good showing,
against English sides. This is an ideal time to test some of our younger players in what will be
a low risk big game for them.
Okay, so it's time out for the Euro 2012 qualifiers, which means its fairly quiet on the Utd news
front, but nevertheless here's a summary of how the Reds international delegation got on...

Manchester United have announced their 30 man squad for the group stages of the Uefa Champions
League 2010/11 .
United will kick start their campaign in Mid September against Scottish team Rangers .
New signing Bebe , Defender De Laet and 29 year old Owen Hargreaves have been excluded from the
squad for Europe's Premier Club Competition
The squad for the group stage reads as follows:
Van der Sar
Kuszczak
Amos*
Neville
Evra
J.
Many a person has laughed at me to my face after I say Jose Enrique is one of the best
left backs in the country. I would now go as far to say that only Evra and Cashley Cole are ahead
of the Spaniard...
He has toughened up since coming to England and is now an absolute tank.

One of the most anticipated fixtures of the new Champions League season sees 2008 winners
Manchester United take on Rangers at the Theatre of Dreams tomorrow night. United are still trying
to find their winning formula as is evident by their inconsistent approach to the Premier League
season and this should provide for a mouth watering match against a Scottish side who have won all
their matches this season.

Saturday was shaping up to be a thoroughly enjoyable day. Whilst the sun was pouring in
Manchester, the sun was shining in Merseyside, and seemed to be shining down on our lads in
particular.
After a first half where we had largely been second best, we managed to go in level at
half-time. We'd enjoyed the better chances, forcing Tim Howard in to a couple of brilliant saves,
in contrast to Edwin Van der Sar who had relatively little to do, but in terms of possession and
ability to get a move going, Everton were far better.

Wayne Rooney is set to face Rangers on Tuesday as Manchester United open their 2010-11 Champions
League season at Old Trafford. United will be favored to finish first in a group which features
the Scottish champions, Valencia and Bursaspor of Turkey.
The news of Rooney's return just a few days removed from the weekend doesn't come as a surprise
as his absence in United's 3-3 away draw at Everton was either a meticulous stroke of coddling by
manager Sir Alex Ferguson, or a message sent to the players at Manchester United that no one player
is bigger than the club itself.
There were so many highlights from this past weekend's Premier League matches that it was hard
to narrow it down to seven. There was Tim Howard's wonderful kick save against Manchester United,
Asamoah Gyan's beautiful debut goal for Sunderland, Scott Parker's cheeky goal for West Ham United,
and the list goes on and on.
Manchester United 3 – 3 Everton: Due to recent events (more like scandals)
involving Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and a prostitute, Sir Alex Ferguson decided to drop the

receive.

Wes Brown, Rio Ferdinand, Ji-Sung Park, Darren Fletcher, Antonio Valencia and Wayne Rooney. Six
of our eleven players last night were players you don't bat an eye-lid at when you see in the

What about the others?
It's not out of the ordinary to play Tomasz Kuszczak in the group stages of the Champions
League, regardless of the opposition, and the decision to play him made no impact.
Sir Alex Ferguson has sung the praises of Dimitar Berbatov following United's 0-0 draw against
Rangers. Berbatov has scored 4 goals in 5 games so far this season, including the Charity Shield
against Chelsea, and is really starting to vindicate the decision to spend £30m on him.
Last season, even when struggling to earn recognition, Berbatov created more goalscoring
opportunities than any other striker in the league.
Manchester United went out and drew nils Tuesday evening at Old Trafford with Glasgow Rangers.
The result itself isn't as alarming as some would have you believe. United manager Sir Alex
Ferguson opted to rest the majority of his first-team players—only some of whom surely needed it,
though all benefited from it.

Don't forget about Old Shirts Day on Sunday. RoM is giving away a shirt from the Treble winning
