There's really only a couple (well, one to be specific) deal that many people followed on transfer
deadline day, but while many looked to see if Dimitar Berbatov would sign for Manchester United and
who Manchester City would nab with their newly-acquired mega-riches, many watched the window to see
if someone would come through the [.
With Dimitar Berbatov unable to play against Villarreal tonight, there's every possibility that
we'll get to see our first sighting of new signing Manucho, who joined the club last season. As
United trained at Carrington yesterday ahead of tonight's match, all eyes were on Cristiano
Ronaldo. However, I'm far more interested to see what our Angolan [.
The rankings are back after a one week delay, due to an executive member of the ranking committee
being on holiday. With the national teams taking center stage this weekend it allowed us some time
to catch up. While the top quarter of the table didn't change much, there was ample movement in the
middle third.
According to Sky Sports News, Manchester City has made a shock bid for Dimitar Berbatov which has
been accepted by Spurs. Incredibly, Tottenham is reported to have made a bid in excess of £30
million. The massive transfer fee makes him the most expensive transfer signing in British history.
Man City manager Mark Hughes says that [.
So let's get our minds working over what chants our fans can sing at Anfield in a fortnight's time!
Surely we can do better than what Spurs already have on offer. To That Boy Ronaldo: He plays on the
left He plays on the right That boy Berbatov Thinks City are shite To Another One Bites The Dust:

There is a trend amongst footballers involved in high-profile moves to claim that the transfer was
less about money and more to do with ambition. While it's easy to be sceptical in the vast majority
of cases, perhaps Manchester United's latest striker is being earnest. The Guardian reports that
Dimitar Berbatov .
Park Ji-Sung was the surprise goalscorer in United's 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge today,
capitalising from Petr Cech's inability to cling on to the ball, following a shot from Dimitar
Berbatov. "It was disappointing to only get one point," Park said after the match.
"In the first half we played well and created good chances - [.
But Park is starting. Swings and roundabouts.
Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole, Obi, Joe Cole, Deco Ballack, Lampard,
Malouda, Anelka. Subs: Cudicini, Drogba, Ballack, Bridge, Kalou, Alex, Belletti.
Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Fletcher, Hargreaves, Scholes, Park,
Berbatov, Rooney.
1. There is absolutely nothing to choose between these two sides this season. Expect the tightest
title race in years as both clubs could go the distance. 2. Dimitar Berbatov cannot defend. Salomon
Kalou ghosted past the ex-Tottenham man to grab the equaliser. 3. Sir Alex Ferguson is not stupid.
It seems his talk of having "no [.
Thanks to SkySports, we now have video of Berbatov shaking hands at Old Trafford. We are waiting
for confirmation of the signing, but this seems to be the best proof available right now.
In the aftermath of what turned out to be an Anfield horror show on Saturday by the Red Devils,
Fergie hinted that he was a little bit perplexed as to why new signing Dimitar Berbatov didn't
build on this excellent contribution which led to United taking the lead in the opening minutes of
a pulsating clash.
Did Manchester City really sign Robinho? I still don't believe that it happened. Weren't Chelsea
supposed to sign him? Did Roman Abramovich really get out bid... by Manchester City? It has to go
down as one of the most amazing days in English Football history. First, Man City trumped Man U as
they signed Dimitar Berbatov, but then they didn't so they go and trump Chelsea to sign Robinho,
who Real Madrid had refused to part with.
Dimitar Berbatov came to Tottenham Hotspur believing that he would be part of a new revolution in
the Premier League that would shake the established order and lead Tottenham to the Champions
League. In the two years since his arrival, the player has lost faith in Tottenham's dream and more
importantly lost faith in Tottenham's [.
So transfer deadline day has come and gone with seemingly no activity from Arsenal. I'm told
that we were in negotiations with Liverpool over the signing of Xabi Alonso but as yet no
announcement has been forthcoming and at this point it seems unlikely.
Had a deal been reached then we'd probably have heard about it by now.
Dimitar Berbatov has signed a four-year deal with Manchester United. One of the summer's
longest-running transfers was finally concluded, with Fraizer Campbell going to Tottenham in a
year-long loan. United have not confirmed how much they have paid for the 27-year-old but Tottenham
revealed they had agreed a fee of £30.
There is a reason why Manchester United have been the dominant team in England throughout the
1990's and 2000's, its because they have Alex Ferguson as their manager. Great players have come
and gone, but the one constant has been Ferguson and that's because he always puts together a great
squad full of top class players.
Carrick, Berbatov, Scholes....These are just a few of the players that will not participate in
Wednesdays Champions League clash against the runners-up in La Liga, Villareal. Carrick suffered a
broken metatarsal at Anfield. Berbatov also suffered an injury at the hands of Liverpool. United
will also be with out Paul Scholes.
United took the lead after 18 minutes through Park, who finished from close range after Petr Cech
saved a low drive from Dimitar Berbatov following excellent work by Patrice Evra. Chelsea drew
level when substitute Kalou rose unmarked in the visiting penalty area to head home a John Obi
Mikel free-kick with 10 minutes remaining.
Reports are claiming that despite United not having permission to speak to Dimitar
Berbatov, the player is undergoing a medical at a South Manchester hospital with a view to a move
to Manchester United.
Meanwhile, rivals Manchester City are still hoping to scupper the Berbatov transfer after having a
£30m+ bid accepted by Spurs for the Reds top summer target.
At the precise time of writing, it's too early to say for sure whether Dimitar Berbatov has gone to
Manchester United or gone to Manchester City, or whether he will stay at White Hart Lane and rot in
the reserves for the next five months. What we can say with a degree of certainty, however, [...]
Absolute craziness on the night of the transfer deadline! Sir Alex Ferguson was the getaway driver
in an astonishing smash-and-grab raid for Dimitar Berbatov that left Spurs seething last night. On
a dramatic transfer deadline day, Tottenham claimed United had illegally hijacked Manchester City's
surprise £34million bid for striker Berbatov – which was accepted – with Ferguson
[.
After Dimitar Berbatov's strange menage-a-trois dalliance with Mark Hughes and Sir Alex Ferguson,
and Man City gazumping Chelsea, yesterday's third oddest deadline day transfer was that of John
Akinde from Ebbsfleet United to Bristol City for £150,000 plus add-ons. The transfer wasn't
bizarre because of the player - Akinde has long attracted interest from league clubs [.
I've just about recovered after sitting transfixed through Sky Sports News' coverage of the closing
of the transfer window. The Day Today had nothing on this: the absurd, breathless Andy Burton with
his three mobiles, live pictures of the fax machine at FA HQ, 'Joey Barton' texting Jim White, the
bloke stood in the rain outside the Britannia Stadium for twelve hours getting overly excited by
the arrival of Danny Higginbottom and shouting things like "Tom Soares is now ON HIS WAY from
London.
While the blue half of Manchester failed with an audacious bid of £35 million for Dimitar
Berbatov on Monday, they managed to pinch Robinho from under the noses of Chelsea, something which
will no doubt irk Peter Kenyon and Roman Abramovich. The Red Devils have landed the Bulgarian
striker for ...
Dimitar Berbatov has said all the right things since becoming a red. After cutting a sulky figure
on the Spurs bench for the past few weeks, we see a new, happy player emerging. He is at his dream
club. Whilst Berbatov has received a lot of stick for his moody behaviour, now that he is a [...]
Argentina international Diego Milito has today admitted he turned down a move to Premier League
side Tottenham in favour of joining Italian side Genoa. The former Real Zaragoza striker was
subject of bids from Genoa, Torino and Spurs on deadline day and in the end he opted for Genoa.
After losing Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United on deadline day Spurs were desperate to add to
their striking options and Milito was seen as a perfect replacement for the Bulgarian.
After a couple of days to reflect on our actions in the transfer market since the start of the
summer until the close of the transfer window, the question has to be asked; Were the powers that
be just too timid in their actions?
We didn't want to sell Robbie Keane, we sold Robbie Keane. We didn't want to sell Dimitar Berbatov,
we sold Dimitar Berbatov.

Goals:

Finally. And what a way to do it.
United made a dream start, with early pressure leading to a Tevez goal within three minutes when
Berbatov beat two men to the byline and was able to cut back to Tevez (Mascherano failed to follow
him into the box).
Liverpool have today finally beaten Manchester United at Anfield today after seven years without a
victory against the Premier League Champions. The Merseyside giants came into today's game unbeaten
in the Premier League along with their rivals, but were desperate to secure three points after
several years without a victory over Sir Alex Ferguson's men.
Manchester United v Bolton Wanderers; Old Trafford, Saturday 27th September,
1500.
VdS returns against Bolton after a shaky start to the season with Kuszcak ruled out with a groin
injury. There was always a chance United would name rookie keeper Ben Amos in the starting line up
but it was felt that thinking man's neanderthal, Kevin Davies, and the aerial bombardment he will
undoubtedly receive, would be too much of a fiery baptism.
Rivals Manchester United and Manchester City are to lock horns in a battle to sign Lyon striker
Karim Benzema. The French international has become of of Europe's hottest properties in recent
months and he has caught the eye of both Mark Hughes and Sir Alex Ferguson in particular.
Lyon recently said they would not let Benzema leave for anything less than £80 million, a
price that City could certainly meet now they are super rich.
We lost the Super Cup to Zenit. Chelsea proved they are still shit by dropping points. Liverpool
drew to Villa, sussing out early season optimism and, more importantly, both Steven Gerrard and
Fernando Torres are extremely doubtful for our Anfield visit. We have no news on Berbatov, yet.
Either way we'll get to know it [.
Earlier today I reported that Manchester City had put in a bid for our top transfer target, Dimitar
Berbatov, around the £30 million mark. There is talk of four players joining the blues today
following the takeover by people who supposedly dwarf Roman Abromovich's riches. Before going off
for a game of golf, Mark Hughes confirmed that [.
The latest reports are now saying that Dimitar Berbatov was driven to our Carrington training
ground and is in talks with Sir Alex Ferguson, after the manager himself went to pick him up.
Excitement around the red side of Manchester mounted, until a bulletin on Sky Sports News announced
that Real Madrid were bidding a [.
There has been an amazing development in the Dimitar Berbatov sage with Spanish giants Real Madrid
apparently ready to table a £36 million bid for the Tottenham striker. The Bulgarian
international has been linked with both Manchester City and Manchester United today but it would
appear now they will face competition from Real.
There's less than four hours to go and I imagine you, like me, are sitting at your computer
desperate for any updates. If someone had told me yesterday that we'd be in a bidding war with
Manchester City, believed to be around £33 million, for Dimitar Berbatov, I would have laughed
in their face. Is this [.
Done deal! The transfer window closed but it took a further 40 minutes for the deal to be
confirmed. Tottenham Hotspur have sold Dimitar Berbatov for £30.75 million. "It's
OFFICIAL! Berbatov Signs For United! £30.75 million" was originally published at The
Republik of Mancunia.
Only about two transfer deals that happened late last night, obviously apart from Berbatov and
Robinho. The first was the only real major signing from Everton - spending £13 million for
Belgium international central-midfielder Marouane Fellaini from Standard Liege. Newcastle United
brought in another player from La Liga, signing Ignacio Gonzalez on a season-long loan deal [.
We can all rest easy, the transfer window is closed and one sulky Bulgarian finally leaves White
Hart Lane! Don't forget to check out Online Football Manager! Manchester United have signed
Bulgaria striker Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham in a deal worth £30.75m. United striker
Fraizer Campbell, 20, has moved in the other .
Pick up a newspaper today and the chances are the back pages are filled with talk of Robinho,
Berbatov and the many other players moving to new clubs before the Premier League transfer window
closed last night.
Yet for all the players grabbing the headlines and milking the spotlight, there are those that have
been shown the door to make way for them in recent weeks.
